Mr. Upchurch passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage.
He was born on December 8, 1936 in Buffalo Valley to the late Hershel and Gladys Madewell Upchurch.
Mr. Upchurch is survived by; 2 sons; Jeff Upchurch and special friend, Tanya Leftwich of Cookeville and Mark Upchurch of Cookeville; 9 grandchildren, Christian and Wesley Upchurch of Cookeville, Chad, Josh, Jacob, and Jordan Upchurch of Cookeville, and Brett Upchurch of Cookeville, Step grandchildren; Kelsey and Katie Leftwich; one great grandchild, Easton Upchurch; two brothers, Douglas Upchurch of Silver Point, Ray Upchurch of Baxter; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric Upchurch; 3 sisters, Peggy Robinson, Dorothy Thomas and Dimple Pace; 2 brothers, Herman and Robert Upchurch.

Dixie Lynn Reeder, 56, of Cookeville, passed away Friday, January, 25th at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Cookeville.
Mrs. Reeder chose immediate cremation with no public visitation or funeral service.

Robert Louis Jones

Funeral Services for Robert Louis Jones, 94, of Cookeville (formerly Nashville), will be conducted at 11am on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from the chapel of Presley Funeral Home (formerly Cookeville Funeral Home) with Dr. Randall Adkisson and Pastor Nathan Bock will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Chapel cemetery in Jackson County. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 5-9pm and again on Thursday from 9am until the time of the services.
Mr. Jones passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Life Care Center of Sparta, where he had lived since 2010.
He was born November 19, 1918 in Gorman, Tennessee to the late Audley and Myrtle Jones.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cookeville.
Mr. Jones was an active member of First Baptist Church in Nashville for 70 years. While there he served as an usher and president of the Good News Sunday School Class for many years.
He was an active member of The Gideons.
Mr. Jones worked as a life insurance salesman for the Life of Georgia for 21 years and thereafter, for other insurance companies.
After his retirement, he worked as a security guard at Wessex Towers for many years.
He was a devoted husband to his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Grimsley Jones, who preceded him in death in 2011. He will be remembered as being a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was known by all who knew him as being a true gentleman and for his kindness.
His family includes; his daughter, Carolyn Bock of Cookeville; Grandsons, Nathan and Andrew Bock of Toms River, NJ; granddaughter, Christina and Curtis Stolaas of Huntsville, AL; 4 great-grandchildren, Sakura, Kaemon, Katana, and Ronin Stolaas of Huntsville, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
The Family wishes to thank Life Care Center of Sparta’s staff for their kind care, and special friends, Ruth Thompson, Judy Pistole, Linda Hitchcock, Derrick Stewart and Lois Reyes who were of great comfort to Mr. Jones during the last 4 months of his deteriorating health.

Also survived by; maternal grandparents, Maria Bartolome and Sebastian Juan; paternal grandparents, Maria Sebastian and Gaspar Francisco; also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

William Thomas Young

Funeral Services for William Thomas Young, age 77, of Baxter, will be conducted at 1PM on Monday, February 18, 2013 from the chapel of Presley Funeral Home (formerly Cookeville Funeral Home) with Paul Fox and Raymond Hensley officiating. The song leader for congregational singing will be Shawn Hensley. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Morgan Young, Jimmy Mott, Billy Mayberry, J.D. Burgess, Ray Blaylock, Zachary Young, Jesse Young and Ricky Young.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 4-9 PM, and again on Monday from 9 AM until the time of the services.
Mr. Young passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at his home in Baxter.
Mr. Young was born July 5, 1935 in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late Louis M. Young and Mary Eliza Brown Young.
He was a member of The Church of Christ at Bloomington Springs.
Mr. Young was owner/operator of William Young and Son Transmission, (retired 1992).
He enjoyed making bird houses, playing with children in the daycare his wife ran, repairing old guns, and especially loved talking with his many dear friends and giving good advice.
His family includes; his Wife, Linda Hammock Young, of the home; Daughter, Amanda Carol Young of Algood; Son, Christopher Thomas Young and Wife Kristie of Baxter; 2 Grandsons, Zachary Thomas Young and Jesse Ray Young, (who are the light of his life) of Baxter; Brother, Clifford Young and Wife Dorothy of Double Springs; Sister-in Law, Geraldine Young of Cookeville; several Nieces and Nephews and many friends; Special Friends: Jimmy Mott, Billy Mayberry, Morgan Young and Hugh Myers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Jess and Dallas Young.

Mr. Murphy passed away suddenly on Friday, February 22, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on September 25, 1971 in Crossville to the late Shirley Hassler, and Shirley Murphy Hassler.
Randy was a loving son, husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend.
Survivors; wife, Malinda McCloud Murphy, of Monterey; two daughters, Karen Rodriguez and husband Craig, of Jamestown, TN and Karli Murphy of Monterey; two sons, Micky and Shawn Murphy; mother, Shirley Murphy Hassler all of Monterey two grandsons, Marshall and Jackson Murphy; one brother, Micky Murphy and wife Trenda of Cookeville, TN; and his nephew, Justin Murphy of Cookeville, TN.
Pallbearers will be Justin Murphy, Larry Threet, Craig Rodriguez, Kyle Clark, Dustin Murphy, Jesse Murphy and Nathan Pain.

Mrs. White passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born August 28, 1961 in Lynchburg, VA to the late Madaline Oliver.
Mrs. White is survived by her husband of 30 years, Joe White of Cookeville; two sons, Bobby White and wife Anete of Crestview, FL and Billy White and wife Tia of Cookeville; two stepsons, Joe White IV and Tammy of Lebanon, TN and Jerad White and wife Crystal of Waverly, TN; eight grandchildren; one brother, Richard Oliver and wife Deborah of Christiansburg, VA; three sisters, Anne and Dave Duncan of Christiansburg, VA, Melinda Gleim of Cookeville and Donna Weber and husband Asa of Blacksburg, VA; sister-in-law, Lawannah McNeese of Cookeville and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
