BLUNT - Charlotte Lenora Fry, 93, Blunt, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Maryhouse Nursing Center in Pierre.

Survivors include two sisters, Lois Doty, Lakewood, Calif., and Deana Shaffer, El Toro, Calif.

Her husband, Cecil H. Fry, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, at Blunt United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Blunt.

Jerell Francis Ray Richards

PORCUPINE - Jerell Francis Ray Richards, 3 months, Porcupine, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, in Porcupine.

Survivors include his parents, Troy Richards and Darcy McBride, both of Porcupine; his maternal grandparents, Karen Red Elk, Porcupine, and David McBride, Kyle; and his paternal grandparents, Ron and Denise Richards, Porcupine.

A one-night wake will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the Porcupine CAP Office.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the CAP office, with the Rev. Cordelia Red Owl officiating.

Burial will be at St. Albin's Episcopal cemetery in Porcupine.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Glen D. Smith

AURORA, Colo. - Glen D. Smith, 50, Aurora and formerly of Rapid City, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in Aurora.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Smith, Aurora; three sons, Darren Smith and Nathen Hoyt, both of Aurora, and James Bourne, Frederick; two daughters, Cathy Carbone, Westminster, and Hope Reese, Craig; his father, Leo Smith, Bennett; two brothers, Ted Smith, Parker, and Scott Smith, Fort Lupton; one sister, Deanna Thompson, Littleton; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Houston officiating.

Burial will be at Mountain View cemetery in Rapid City.

Alexander F. Bad Bear Sr.

WOUNDED KNEE - Alexander F. Bad Bear Sr., 60, Wounded Knee, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, in Pine Ridge.

Survivors include four daughters, Betty Bad Bear, Carol Bad Bear and Sharon Goings, all of Pine Ridge, and Martha Bad Bear, Rapid City; four sons, Alex Bad Bear Jr., Winston Bad Bear and Edsel Bad Bear, all of Pine Ridge, and Irving Bad Bear, Wounded Knee; eight sisters, Eva Black Bear, Cathy Black Bear, Peggy Black Bear, Raydine Black Bear, Nellie Black Bear, Maxine Ghost, Gloria Ghost and Barbara Bad Bear, all of Pine Ridge; five brothers, Robert Black Bear, Pine Ridge, Elwood Black Bear, Sioux Falls, Burgess Ghost, Hot Springs, Artie Black Bear, Black Hawk, and Leroy Ghost, Rapid City; 24 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A two-night wake began Tuesday, May 7, at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge. The second night was Wednesday, May 8, at Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Cordelia Red Owl and the Rev. Darrell New officiating.

Burial will be at Messiah Episcopal cemetery in Wounded Knee.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Frank J. Mullen

GREGORY - Frank J. Mullen, 87, Gregory, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Lila Mullen, Gregory; one daughter, Ann Morehouse, Viborg; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and one sister, Amy Burcum, Wayne, Neb.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at St. John Lutheran Church in Gregory.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the church.

Burial will be at IOOF cemetery in Gregory.

Susan Maureen Hickok

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Anchorage, Alaska resident Susan Maureen Hickok, 50, died at home May 5, 2002. She had been diagnosed cancer in May 1999.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Community Church. Terry Wells and Mary Spath will officiate. Pallbearers will include Lucas Saltzman, Trent Carlson, Dave Farring, Bill Rediske, Jason Wilhelm, Travis Carlson, Doug Saltzman and Don Carlson. Burial will be at Angelus Memorial Park.

Ms. Hickok was born Oct. 10, 1951, in Hot Springs, S.D., where she lived until moving to Alaska in 1973. She had been an employee of Phillips Petroleum.

She is survived by her son, Bryan of Anchorage; parents, Paul and Doris Hickok of Hot Springs; siblings and their spouses, Nancy Hunter of Seattle, David and Cathy Hickok of Fridley, Minn., Vivian Hickok Rediske and Bill Rediske of Anchorage, Joyce and Eldon Jossi of Gales Creek, Ore., Janet Hickok-Veliz and Jose Veliz of Forest Grove, Ore., Karen Hickok of Forest Grove, and Duane and Kylee Hickok of Anchorage; nieces and nephews, Greg, Scott, Erin, Kelli, Erica, Tyler, Tanner, Ryan, Kinley, Sebastian, Trinity and Zoe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and wonderful friends.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 1057 W. Fireweed Lane, Suite 204, Anchorage AK 99503.

Anfrenee Charles High Pipe

PINE RIDGE - Anfrenee Charles High Pipe, 3, Pine Ridge, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, in Allen.

Survivors include his mother, Christine High Pipe, St. Francis; his father, Andrew Cortier, Allen; two sisters, Azure High Pipe and Tyshell Cortier, both of St. Francis; his maternal grandparents, Lucinda No Moccasin and Eli High Pipe, both of Parmelee; and his paternal grandmother, inerva Bear Killer, Allen.

A two-night wake began Wednesday, May 8, at Inestimable Gift Episcopal Church in Allen. The second night will begin at 2 p.m. today at Episcopal Church in Parmelee.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the church, with the Rev. Dan Makes Good officiating.

Burial will be at Episcopal Church cemetery in Parmelee.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas S. Zenor

RAPID CITY - Thomas S. Zenor, 86, Rapid City, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Custer Community Hospital.

Survivors include five sons, Larry Zenor and Dan Zenor, both of Rapid City, James Zenor, Placerville, Calif., Kenneth Zenor, San Clemente, Calif., and Ronald Zenor, Custer; two sisters, Armeta Jacoby, Estacada, Ore., and Viola Singer, Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, William Zenor, Rapid City, and Robert Zenor, Estacada; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

His wife, Lorene Freeman Zenor, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City.

Marie A. Heier

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Marie A. Heier, 88, Albuquerque and formerly of Hettinger, N.D., and Prairie City, S.D., died Sunday, May 5, 2002, in Albuquerque.

Survivors include three daughters, Delila Heier-Hill, Las Vegas, Dawn Heier-Kaitfors, Albuquerque, and Rosella Beaumont, Rapid City; one son, Iver Heier, Prairie City; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger, and for one hour before services Saturday, May 11, at United Methodist Church in Hettinger.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. David Roehl officiating.

Burial will follow at Peace E.U.B. cemetery south of Reeder, N.D.

Clara Viken Crevier

LEMMON - Clara Viken Crevier, 94, Lemmon, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Wattnem, Sandstone, Minn., and Marilyn Ham, Shadehill; one son, Dennis Crevier, Lemmon; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Spencer Crevier, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and for one hour before services Saturday, May 11, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Harold Watrous and the Rev. John Langehough officiating.

Burial will be at Greenhill cemetery in Lemmon.

A memorial has been established.

Cecilia S. Dudley

NEWCASTLE, Wyo. - Cecilia S. Dudley, 84, Newcastle, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at Weston County Health Services in Newcastle.

Survivors include four daughters, Jacqueline Dudley, Florida, Elizabeth Clements, Virginia, Jo Ann Brown, Newcastle, and Ellen Welch, Sioux Falls, S.D.; two sons, George Dudley, Australia, and John Dudley, South Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Harrison Dudley, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, at First United Methodist Church in Newcastle, with the Rev. Robert Firebaugh officiating.

Burial will be at Leicester, Mass.

Memorials may be made to Michael's Senior Center, Weston County Health Services Foundation or the charity of one's choice.

Worden Funeral Directors of Newcastle is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry M. Gerdes

RAPID CITY - Jerry M. Gerdes, 69, of Rapid City, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at his home with his wife at his side.

Jerry was born April 19, 1933, in Aberdeen, S.D., to Martin and Hazel (Knutson) Gerdes. He and his sister Esther and family moved to Rapid City when he was 8 years old. Jerry met

Arlene Ann Brown in 1952 and they were married on December 28, 1953. The couple had two girls, Kathryn and Kim. He dedicated 32 years of service to Norwest Bank in the trust department, retiring in 1993.

He enjoyed many years being involved with the Central States Fair and participating with the Buck-a-Roos and the Custer Trail Riders. He was very fortunate to have enjoyed the Black Hills with all their wonderment throughout his childhood and into his adult years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, wood working and the pleasure of a good story, either telling it or listening to one. He always was able to find humor throughout his life.

He leaves behind a devoted wife, Arlene Ann of Rapid City; two daughters, Kathy Cain and her husband Pat and their two sons, Mathew and Jason of Belton, Texas, and Kim Lungren and her husband Rex and their two daughters, Casey and Courtney of Glenrock, Wyo.; and one sister, Esther Biggin and her two sons, Howard and Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Hazel; an infant sister, Olive; and a nephew, Kenneth.

A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, at Blessed Sacrament Church, with Rev. Matt Fallgren presiding. Inurnment will follow at Pine Lawn cemetery in Rapid City.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice of the Hills would be greatly appreciated.
