Edward Elmer Netterberg
STURGIS - Edward Elmer Netterberg, 72, Sturgis, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Fort Meade Veterans Hospital.
Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. The family will be present from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the Historic Fort Meade Chapel on Thursday.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Historic Fort Meade Chapel. Burial follows at the Black Hills National cemetery with military honors by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard.
A memorial has been established.
Ed was born August 7, 1929, at Butte, Mont., to Edward and Ethel (Murray) Netterberg. He attended grade school and graduated from high school in Butte. Ed was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1946 until 1948 and from 1951 until 1952. He married
Shirley Bartlett in 1950. After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps he received his BA degree from Carroll College in Helena, Mont., in 1962, and his MA degree from the University of Iowa at Iowa City in 1965.

Vickie J. Johnston at Spearfish, S.D.
Ed was employed as a clinical social worker at Fort Meade from 1967 until his retirement in 1989. He was also the National Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame Executive Director from 1993 until 1998.
He was a life member of ABATE of S.D., Inc., life member of DAV, Motorcycle Riders Foundation, American Motorcycle Association, and Eagles of Deadwood.
The most important things in Ed's life were his family (wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren) and the freedom and right to make decisions without government interference.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Netterberg, Sturgis; children, Sharon Davis, Charlo, Mont., William Netterberg and his wife, Jill, Sturgis, Karen Johnson and her husband, Richard, Spearfish, Carol Berry and her husband, Todd, Sturgis, Wesley Johnston and Jill Anthony, Sturgis, Ken Johnston and his wife, Meredith, Phoenix, Ariz., and Rachelle Mundy and her husband, Noel, Lovington, N.M.; also 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
Helen T. Parsons
PHILIP -- Helen T. Parsons, 98, Philip, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Philip Nursing Home.
Survivors include four sons, Dean Parsons, Wall, Boyd Parsons Sr., Rapid City, and Barton Parsons and Billie Parsons, both of Milesville; three daughters, Doris Berry, Milesville, Mary Slovek, Philip, and Leah Waddell, Huron; one sister, Vera Heard, St. Louis; 28 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Rush Funeral Home in Philip and for one hour before services, which will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Community Evangelical Free Church in Philip, with the Rev. Gary Wahl officiating.
Lloyd S. Fox
BUFFALO - Lloyd S. Fox, 76, rural Harding County, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at home.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Fox, Buffalo; one son, Russell Fox, Buffalo; and two daughters, Sherry Fox, Belle Fourche, and Vicki Heairet, Buffalo.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche and for one hour before services Saturday, Dec. 15, at Lions Civic Center in Buffalo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Civic Center, with the Rev. Layne Lindberg and the Rev. Barb Lindberg officiating.
Burial will follow at Buffalo cemetery.
Bernadine J. Sipma Palczewski
SCRANTON, N.D. - Bernadine J. Sipma Palczewski, 66, Scranton, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Southwest Long Term Care Center in Bowman, N.D.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Palczewski, Scranton; one daughter, Susan Buchmeier, Scranton; three sons, Monte Sipma, Minot, Miles Sipma, Rapid City, and Stuart Sipma, Bismarck; one sister, Phyllis Gibson, Klamath Falls, Ore.; four brothers, Virgil Hendrickson, Scranton, LeRoy Hendrickson, Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Wilber Brew and Ray Brew, both of Dickinson; 10 grandchildren; two stepsons, Dennis Palczewski, Ames, Iowa, and Dale Palczewski, Scranton; two stepdaughters, Milly Richardson, Wyoming, and Deborah Thomason, Bismarck; six stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton, with the Rev. Mary Peterson officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedar cemetery in Scranton.

Edward H. Willson
LOVELAND, Colo. - Edward H. Willson, 86, Loveland and formerly of Sturgis, S.D., died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Willson, Loveland; one daughter, Marilyn Morris, Loveland; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

Hazel Richards
SPEARFISH - Hazel Richards, 98, Spearfish and formerly of Lead, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.
Survivors include three sons, Daniel Hall, Nisland, Bernard Hall, Sturgis, and Wendall Hall, Rapid City; two daughters, Margaret Hall, Magalia, Calif., and Virginia Fuller, Commerce, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Fidler Funeral Chapel of Spearfish.
Donald Roy Wacker
PORTLAND, Ore. - Donald Roy Wacker, 66, Portland and formerly of Lemmon, S.D., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, in Portland.
Survivors include his mother, Ethel Wacker, Lemmon; one sister, Sylvia Goetz, Thunder Hawk, S.D.; and one brother, Dale Wacker, Bowman, N.D.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, Dec. 15, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home's Prince of Peace Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Watrous officiating.
Burial will be at Greenhill cemetery in Lemmon.
Hal Chase Jr.
RAPID CITY - Hal Chase Jr., 75, Rapid City and South Padre Island, Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at South Padre Island.
Survivors include his wife, Kate Chase, Rapid City and South Padre Island; one daughter, Julie Yerdon, Omaha, Neb.; three sons, Roger Chase, Marshalltown, Iowa, Mike Chase, Custer, and Brad Chase, Rapid City; two sisters, Jane McMillan, Martin, and Annette Schupbach, Columbus, Neb.; two brothers, Joe Chase, Omaha, and Bill Chase, Rapid City; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Visitation will be at 7 p.m. today at Cicmanec-Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home of Gordon, Neb.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at First Presbyterian Church in Gordon, with the Rev. Vonne Blessman-Andersen officiating.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View cemetery in Rapid City.
A memorial has been established for American Heart Association.
Donna L. McClellan
CUSTER - Donna L. McClellan, 56, Custer, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at home.
Survivors include her mother, Gloria McClellan, Vista, Calif.; two brothers, Bill McClellan, Custer, and Jerry McClellan; and one sister, Jackie Pray, Overton, Nev.
Family memorial services will be at a later date.

Christian Jacob 'Jack' Haas
RAPID CITY - Christian Jacob "Jack" Haas, 49, of Rapid City, died Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at his home.
Jack was born March 23, 1952, in Moorhead, Minn., to Reuben and Margaret (Schmidt) Haas. He was raised in Mandan, N.D., and attended Mandan Public Schools. Jack served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1971 and was a Vietnam veteran.
Jack loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and brother-in-law, Harold "Frosty" Flynn.
He is survived by one sister, Marcetta Flynn of Rapid City, and three brothers, Robert Haas and wife Sandy of Mandan, N.D., Michael Haas and wife Judy of Bismarck, N.D., and Leroy Haas and wife Rose of Ashley, N.D.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2001, at the Dakota Veterans Memorial Chapel cemetery in Mandan, N.D., with Chaplain Jeff Franco officiating.
Local arrangements are with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.
Eva Margaret Johnston
RAPID CITY - Eva Margaret Johnston, 84, Rapid City, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at home.
Survivors include one daughter, Candice Christofferson, Rapid City; one son, Bob Johnston, Rapid City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.
Frederick Ray 'Fred' Graves
MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho - Frederick Ray "Fred" Graves, 56, Mountain Home and formerly of Rapid City, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Graves, Mountain Home; one daughter, Vicki Bechter, Barstow, Calif.; one son, Freddy Lessenger, University City, Wash.; one sister, Florence Grundvig, Sunnyside, Utah; and two brothers, Michael Graves, Kearns, Utah, and LaMar Graves, Colorado Springs, Colo.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1986.
No services will be held.

Harry Redinger
SPEARFISH - Harry Redinger, 80, Spearfish, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.
Survivors include one daughter, Myrna Sasse, Spokane, Wash.; two sons, Harry Wayne Redinger, Hulett, Wyo., and Harold Redinger, Ashland, Wis.; one sister, Edna Urban, Vancouver, Wash.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
His wife, Madeline Stewart Redinger, preceded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Fidler Funeral Chapel in Spearfish and at 6:30 p.m. today at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Spearfish.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the church, with the Rev. Max Williamson officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery in Spearfish.
