RAPID CITY - Darlene M. Wiebers, 75, Rapid City, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at a local nursing home.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Williams, Rapid City, and one grandson.

RAPID CITY - Reverend Richard A. Plante, 78, longtime priest in the West River Diocese of the Catholic Church, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Westhills Village Health Care Center.
A Christian wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, Dec. 22, at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with Bishop Blase J. Cupich presiding.
Interment will be at Black Hills National cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Memorials have been established for St. Thomas More High School and St. Elizabeth Seton School.
Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.
Delores P. LaSuer
RAPID CITY - Delores P. LaSuer, 63, Rapid City, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at her son's home near Sturgis.
Survivors include one son, Doug LaSuer, Sturgis; two brothers, Virgil Pullen, Sioux City, Iowa, and Ken Pullen, Rapid City; and one grandson.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, with a 5 p.m. prayer service, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Services will be in Sioux City, Iowa.
Gordon W. Hilsendager
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gordon W. Hilsendager, 63, Bismarck and formerly of Lemmon, S.D., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at MedCenter One in
Bismarck.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Hilsendager, Bismarck; two brothers, John Hilsendager, Morristown, S.D., and Frank Hilsendager, Grand Junction, Colo.; and one sister, Donna Maher, Morristown.
He served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 13, 1961, to Dec. 12, 1963.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon, with a 7 p.m. vigil prayer service today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon.
Visitation will continue for one hour before services, which will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Riss officiating.
Burial, with military honors by Brattvet-Green American Legion Post of Lemmon and Johnson-Melary American Legion Post of Hettinger, will be at Hettinger cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
Wilomina 'Minnie' Schlenker
ONIDA - Wilomina
"Minnie" Schlenker, 98, Onida, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Kirkwood Manor near Deadwood.
Survivors include two daughters, Erna Hanson, Pierre, and Leonetta Fleming, Oral; one son, Raymond Schlenker, Sturgis; three sisters, Martha Bitterman, Celmont, Adella DeVries, Sioux Falls, and Anetta Popken, Sioux City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Emanual Schlenker, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be for one hour before services, which will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Onida.
Burial will follow at Onida cemetery.

Dorothy Marguerite Schutte
PIERRE - Dorothy
Marguerite Schutte, 76, Pierre and formerly of Redfield and Frankfort, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Maryhouse Sub-Acute Care Unit in Pierre.
Survivors include one son, Don Schutte, Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Eileen Roggenthen, Keystone, and Marla Walz, Pierre; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and five brothers, Duane Ellis, Delvin Ellis and Verlyn Ellis, all of Redfield, Elton Ellis, Rochester, Minn., and Ron Ellis, Yucca Valley, Calif.
Her husband, Quentin Charles Schutte, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and for one hour before services on Saturday, Dec. 22, at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Zellmer officiating.
Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery in Redfield.
Jennifer Dawkins
UPTON, Wyo. - Jennifer Dawkins, 12, Upton, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at home.
Survivors include her parents, Richard and Roxanne Dawkins, Upton; one sister, Annie Dawkins, Upton; her maternal grandparents, Herschell and Norma Hoffman, Belle Fourche, S.D.; and her paternal grandparents, Bill Dawkins, Brush, Colo., and Nancy Halbmaier, Hoven, S.D.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Daryl Redinger officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery in Spearfish.
Fidler Funeral Chapel of Spearfish is in charge of arrangements.

Leah Zoe Brown
SPEARFISH - Leah Zoe Brown, 82, Spearfish and formerly of Belle Fourche, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.
Survivors include two sons, William Brown, Omaha, Neb., and Danny Brown, Minneapolis; one brother, Maurice Truman, Rapid City; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William "Chuck" Brown, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Fidler Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis, with the Rev. Gordon Higgins officiating. Queen City Chapter No. 89, Spearfish, will provide Order of the Eastern Star rites.
A memorial has been established.
Peter Rolando-Zucco
RAPID CITY — Peter
Rolando-Zucco, 92, Rapid City, died at the Westhills Village Health Care Unit on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001.
He was born May 26, 1909, at Butte, Montana, the son of John and Domenica (Giovando) Rolando-Zucco. He resided at Butte, Montana, for the first three years of his life, and then his family moved to Turin, Italy. Peter returned to the United States at the age of 20.
He married
Ruth Watwood on June 26, 1937, at Lead, S.D.
He was employed by the Homestake Mining Co. as an electrician for a period of 40 years and resided in Lead for a period of 43 years prior to moving to Rapid City.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Knights of Columbus Council No. 703 at Lead, Elks Lodge 1187 in Rapid City, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Rolando-Zucco, Rapid City; five nephews; four nieces; and a sister-in-law, Vera Stahl, Rapid City.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Westhills Village Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, with Rev. Gerald Scherer as the celebrant.
Inurnment will be at the Mount Calvary cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.
Sidney Thomas Cook
HURON — Sid Cook, age 54, of 1030 Arrowbee Court, Huron, died Tuesday, November 6, 2001, near Hartington, Neb., as the result of a traffic accident. A private graveside service will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10, at the First Presbyterian Church, with G. Cobbie Magness and Harvey Wollman officiating. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home.
Sidney Thomas Cook was born on November 1, 1947, to Donald and Maxie (White) Cook at St. Joseph, Mo. They lived in King City, Mo., where Sid attended school through the eighth grade before moving to Huron in 1962. He attended Huron High School, and while there, he set a high-jump record and was a member of the football and basketball teams. In 1966, he graduated from Huron High School, and then he attended South Dakota State University for two years.
From 1968 until 2000 he was employed with Cook Seed Company, Vitalix, Inc., Old West Feed, Tombstone Pizza, Bio-Zyme Enterprises and DDX, Inc. He was currently employed at Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Huron.
On November 16, 1990, Sid married
Barbara Knecht at Huron.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Huron Country Club and Great Plains Snowtrailers.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Huron; two stepchildren, Jenifer (Mark) Dexter of Goffstown, N.H., and Michael Greve of Mesa, Ariz.; his parents, Donald and Maxie Cook of Huron; one sister, Connie (Chuck) Rowen of Huron; two nephews, Chad Rowen and Braedon Rowen, both of Rapid City; one niece, Becky Rowen of Vermillion; and a special friend and companion, Sasha.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Richard E. ‘Dick' Miller
CUSTER — Richard E. "Dick" Miller, 61, Custer, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, near Custer.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Miller; three sons, Jerry Miller, Doug Miller and Dave Miller; one stepson, Tom Rekowski; two daughters, Peggy Nelson and Shari Potts; two stepdaughters, Virginia Wimberly and Emmy Lynn Canada; his mother, Bertha Springer; one brother, Larry Swanberg; one sister, Jeri Munson; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
No services will be held.

Roxene Ann Marie Joneson
RAPID CITY — Roxene Ann Marie Joneson, 43, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Joneson, Rapid City; two sons, Michael Joneson and Brooks Joneson, both of Rapid City; her father, Donald Thaden, Huron; and two brothers, Tom Thaden and Dave Thaden.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at South Canyon Baptist Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. Tom Voigt officiating.
