Ellen J. Larson
ARLINGTON — Ellen J. Larson, 91, Arlington, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Beverly Health Care in Arlington.
Survivors include two sisters, Esther Reich, Napa, Idaho, and Joyce Kneip, Arlington.
Her husband, Everett Larson, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be for one hour before services, which will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, at Isburg-Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre.
Burial will be at Scotty Philip Cemetery in Pierre.
Lyle C. and Nadine M. Wolff
GILLETTE, Wyo. — Funeral services for Lyle C. Wolff, 74, and Nadine M. Wolff, 68, both of Gillette, were held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Nathan Brandt officiating. Mr. Wolff died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ from complications of emphysema. He was born August 12, 1927 to Gust and Alice (Lundblad) Wolff in Aladdin, WY, where he attended rural elementary school and worked on his parents' ranch. After graduating from Belle Fourche High School he worked various odd jobs. He then joined the Army June 26, 1946, received a WWII Victory Medal, and was honorably discharged July 29, 1947. He then started his own construction company and worked throughout North and South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. On May 30, 1953 he married Nadine M. Wamboldt. He and his wife lived in Belle Fourche, SD and then eventually moved his family to Byron, WY. He moved to Gillette in 1991 to be closer to his family. After his retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling and lived in Quartzsite, AZ during the winter months. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lundell and his son, Jack Wolff, both of Gillette; three brothers, Merle Wolff of Denver, CO, Orville Wolff of Aladdin, WY and Wayne Wolff of Colony, WY; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. His parents; his brother Ralph Wolff; and his son, Thomas Wolff, preceded him in death.
Mrs. Wolff died Friday, March 15, 2002 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ from cancer. She was born November 7, 1933 to Alexander and Mary (Dumler) Wamboldt in Sterling, CO. She later moved with her family to her mother's family ranch in Newell, SD where she attended elementary school and graduated high school. She continued working on the family ranch until May 30, 1953 when she married Lyle C. Wolff. After their marriage she had three children and worked as a homemaker, school lunch cook and telephone operator. She loved to cook, sew and garden. Her daughter, Mary Lundell and her son, Jack Wolff, both of Gillette; two brothers, Eugene Wamboldt of Prescott, AZ and Gerald Wamboldt of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lyle Wolff; and her son, Thomas Wolff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Orlyn Lee Luckhurst
PIEDMONT — Orlyn Lee Luckhurst, 63, Piedmont, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Luckhurst, Piedmont; three sons, Bruce Luckhurst, Watertown, Scott Luckhurst, Rapid City, and Mark Luckhurst, Huron; one daughter, Susan Luckhurst, Chadsworth, Calif.; two brothers, Marlo Luckhurst, Watertown, and Romaine Luckhurst, Pierre; one sister, Baverly Jones, Ortonville, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday, March 25, at Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Sturgis.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Dale Jones officiating.
Burial will be at Piedmont Cemetery.
Franklin W. Johnson
PIERRE — Franklin W. Johnson, 85, Pierre, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.
Survivors include one daughter, Dianne, Seattle, and one sister, Margie Exline, Hemet, Calif.
His wife, Fern Nash Johnson, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be for one hour before services, which will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Isburg-Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre.
Burial will be at Scotty Philip Cemetery in Pierre.
Henry Skjoldal
LEMMON — Henry Skjoldal, 77, Lemmon, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, N.D.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Skjoldal, Lemmon; four sons, Baruch Solomon, Israel, Gary Skjoldal, Lemmon, and Bryan Skjoldal and Todd Skjoldal, both of Fargo, N.D.; two daughters, Nancy Howard, Fargo, and Lisa Patterson, Pleasant Hill, Iowa; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother,
Sherman Skjoldal, Minot, N.D.; and five sisters, Ann Anderson, Polson, Mont., Esther Wolff, Eugene, Ore., Mildred Scott, Minot, Lillian Brockel, Berthold, N.D., and Gary Rhoades, Dayton, Mont.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 24, and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon, and from 11:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Prairie Hills Church of God in Lemmon.
A family service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Robert James officiating.
Burial, with military honors by Smith-Lyman American Legion Post No. 279 of Thunder Hawk, will be at Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon.
A memorial has been established.
Josephine C. Mattson
RAPID CITY — Josephine C. Mattson, 81, Rapid City, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at her home.
She was born June 16, 1920, at White Lake, S.D., the daughter of Frank and Emilie (Hager) Egidi. She was raised in White Lake and graduated from high school there. Later she lived in Central City, S.D., before moving to Rapid City, where she has lived in the same house for over 50 years. She was married to Walter A. Mattson Aug. 7, 1959, in Rapid City.
Josephine was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish for over 50 years, a charter member of the Rapid City Alzheimer's Association, and was active in many community functions and affairs.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald W. Coleman, Montezuma, Iowa, and Robert J. Coleman, Kunkletown, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Linda Parson, Eugene, Ore.; four sisters, Tillie Angier, Medona, Ill., Helen Butler, Cedar Lake, Ind., Betty Egidi, Holiday, Fla., and Norma Wheelock, Holiday, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albin Egidi and Frank Jr.; her parents; two sisters, Mary and Edith; and one granddaughter, Jacques Coleman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Blessed Sacrament Church, with Rev. Matt Fallgren presiding. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home, with a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the church or the Alzheimer's Association.
Orville Wayne Kline
RAPID CITY — Orville Wayne Kline, 78, Rapid City, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at his home.
Survivors include one son, Charles Kline; two daughters, Lorie Kauhn and Louise Wold; one sister, Helen Harris; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Behrens Mortuary of Rapid City.
Michael O'Dea
RAPID CITY — Michael O'Dea, 82, Rapid City, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at a local nursing home.
Survivors include three daughters, Joanne Merwin, Sturgis, and Bonnie Newell and Jane Knapp, both of Rapid City; one son, James Knapp, Rapid City; three sisters, Mae Crocker and Laura Vifquain, both of Rapid City, and Joan Oltmann, Dickinson, N.D.; and one brother, Patrick O'Dea, Norris, Mont.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City.
Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.
Charles Dewette Harrison
SALT LAKE CITY — Charles Dewette Harrison, 49, Salt Lake City and formerly of Rapid City, died Monday, March 18, 2002, at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Survivors include his stepparents, Jim and Annabel Luze, Lead, S.D.; one son, Jessie Harrison Rivera; one daughter, Sena Harrison; three brothers, Alvie Harrison Jr., Larry Harrison and Kent Harrison; four sisters, Cheryl Johnson, Jeanie Carpenter, Dorla Harrison and Tracy Schanbeck; two stepbrothers, James Luze Jr., Yelm, Wash., and Todd Luze, Lead; and two stepsisters, Linda Luze, Sturgis, S.D., and Vonda Storley, Britton, S.D.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time today at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the funeral chapel.
Inurnment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Deadwood.
Eldon Ray 'Sugar Ray' Marshall Jr.
POTATO CREEK - Eldon Ray "Sugar Ray" Marshall Jr., 22, Potato Creek, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, in Badlands National Park.
Survivors include his parents, Andrea Marshall, Wall, and Eldon Marshall Sr., Allen; two sisters, Kay Bull Bear, Rapid City, and Yvonne Bull Bear, Wall; and one brother, Meltino Bull Bear, Kyle.
A two-night wake will begin at 11:30 a.m. Sunday,
March 24, at St. Henry's Catholic Hall in Potato Creek.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the hall, with the Rev. Daniel Makes Good and the Rev. Cordelia Red Owl officiating.
Burial will be at St. Timothy's Episcopal Cemetery in Potato Creek.

Marguerite E. Dahlquist
RAPID CITY - Marguerite E. Dahlquist, 86, of Rapid City, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at a local nursing home.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Downs and her husband, Don, and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Melanie Downs, all of Rapid City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1979, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services, which will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City, with Rev. Jeffrey Carlson and Rev. Kenneth Cragg officiating. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

WINNER - Mary Pochop, 96, Winner, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Winner Regional Nursing Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Wells, Arvada, Colo.; two sons, Harold Pochop, Tampa, Fla., and Larry Pochop, Laramie, Wyo.; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Spinar, Rapid City.
Her husband, Otto Pochop, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Mason Funeral Home in Winner.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at United Methodist Church in Winner.
Burial will be at Winner Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Launer, Chadron; three sons, Curt Launer, Everett, Wash., and Clint Launer and Bruce Launer, both of Chadron; one daughter, Donetta Schroeder, Everett; one brother, Jerry Launer, Sun City, Ariz.; one sister, Elayne Bloom, Somis, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
