Dorothy Louise 'Dora' Davis
CUSTER - Dorothy Louise "Dora" Davis, 94, of Custer, died February 11, 2002, at the Custer Community Hospital in Custer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2002, at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer, with Rev. Robert Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Custer City Cemetery.
Dorothy was born September 1, 1907, to Johann and Katherina (Sass) Hamann in Blumfield, Nebraska. At a young age the family moved to a homestead 32 miles north of Wall, South Dakota. She went to a small country school between Creighton and Pedro, South Dakota. She married Clarence Jason Davis November 14, 1928, at Rapid City, South Dakota. In 1932, they homesteaded on a small piece of ground on Pass Creek. In 1940, they moved to Custer, South Dakota, where Clarence worked in the Feldspar mines and Dora worked at the motels.
She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and a very active member of Our Redeemer Guild.
Surviving to mourn her death is one sister-in-law, Esther Hamann of Custer; a number of nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and six brothers.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Hot Springs.
Mary Jane Wagman
COVINGTON, Tenn. - Mary Jane Wagman, 69, Covington and formerly of Farmingdale, S.D., died Sunday, Jan. 27, at her home.
Survivors include three brothers, Paul Dingeman, Spearfish, S.D., Roger Dingeman, La Pine, Ore., and David Dingeman, Mexico; two sisters, Teresa Linstad and Martha Dacar, both of Eugene, Ore.; four daughters, Elaine Torbet, Corvallis, Ore., Sharon Atkins, Atoka, Tenn., Carol Kulik, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Rita Young, Henderson, Nev.; three sons, Lyle Wagman, Monmouth, Ore., Patrick Wagman, Livingston, Mont., and Gerard Wagman, Redmond, Ore.; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Thursday, Jan. 31, at St. Alphonsus' Catholic Church in Covington.
Burial was at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
Memorials may be made to St. Alphonsus' Catholic Church.
Ruby A. Wilson
RAPID CITY - Ruby A. Wilson, 94, Rapid City, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Westhills Village Health Care Center in Rapid City.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Wilson and Dr. Roger Wilson, both of Rapid City, and Mark Wilson, Spokane, Wash.; one brother, Russell Sandstead, Columbia, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.
Ray E. Guest
FORT LARAMIE, Wyo. - Ray E. Guest, 86, Fort Laramie and formerly of Lead, S.D., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Kirkwood Manor in Pluma, S.D.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Guest, Fort Laramie; four daughters, Berniece Sexton, Sturgis, S.D., Joyce Ritchie, Gillette, Wyo., Donna Janssen, Richmond, Va., and Barbara Conlon, Lake Charles, La.; one son, Keith Guest, Eagle Point, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Linda Price, Edgemont, S.D., and Marcia Torgrude, Lead; two stepsons, Thomas Miller, Lead, and Dennis Miller, Minnesota; one brother, Coy Guest, Henry, Neb.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Viola Prickett Guest, preceded him in death.
He served in the National Guard for 2-1/2 years.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Fidler Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill, Neb., with the Rev. D. Jake Roberts officiating.
A memorial has been established for Twin City Animal Shelter in Lead.
David E. Mahood
LORETTO, Minn. - David E. Mahood, 50, died Feb. 3 in Loretto, Minn.
Local services for David will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 402 Kansas City Street, Rapid City. Pastor Allen Jacobson will officiate.
Verna Jacobs
MCINTOSH - Verna Jacobs, 82, McIntosh, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.
Arrangements are pending with Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home of Lemmon.
Forrest E. McFall
RAPID CITY - Forrest Eugene McFall was born March 26, 1926, at Raleigh, N.D., to Milton Edgar and Emma (Pack) McFall. He died unexpectedly at home February 11, 2002.
Forrest attended grade school in Lemmon, S.D., and graduated from Spearfish High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. After being discharged in 1946, he enrolled at the School of Mines and Technology, graduating with a civil engineering degree in May 1950.
Forrest was employed by Iseman Mobile Homes in Aberdeen before working for several years as the purchasing agent at Robbins and Stearns Building Center in Rapid City. In 1964, he joined his sister and brother-in-law, Goldie and Howard Burnell, in partnership of the Panhandle Paint and Tile Center in Scottsbluff, Neb. From 1972 until his retirement, he was a sales representative for several companies.
Forrest married Betty Ann Sundby on April 25, 1965, at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson, Minn. They lived in Scottsbluff before moving to Rapid City in 1972.
Forrest and Betty enjoyed traveling and made many wonderful trips in the USA and abroad. Special to Forrest were the annual get-togethers of his high school classmates in Spearfish every July.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, serving in many capacities. He enjoyed friendships in Cosmopolitan Club and Sons of Norway. He was a member of VFW, UCT, Naja Shrine, Masonic Lodge, Civil Air Patrol, and a life member of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; five sisters, Lucille Tucker, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Goldie (Howard) Burnell, Scottsbluff, Neb., Jean (Ernie) Butler, Panama City, Fla., Doris (John) Schunneman and Yvonne Barton of Rapid City; one aunt, Marjorie Pack, Kalispell, Mont.; and a brother-in-law, Leon Swartz, West Branch, Mich.; plus numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Don McFall; one sister, Lois Swartz; and a brother-in-law, Doug Tucker.
Visitation will be at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home Thursday, February 14, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church Friday, February 15, 2002, at 10 a.m.
Interment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery, with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273.
Memorials may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Stained Glass Window Fund and the Organ Repair Fund, or to the School of Mines and Technology Scholarship Fund.
Raymond T. Millett
HOT SPRINGS - Raymond T. Millett, 82, Hot Springs, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, in Arvada, Colo.
Arrangements are pending with Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel of Hot Springs.
Henry Stubba Black Feet
PINE RIDGE - Henry Stubba Black Feet, 61, Pine Ridge, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, in Pine Ridge.
Survivors include two sisters, Cora Red Hair, Calico, and Victoria Wounded, Lame Deer, Mont., and numerous grandchildren.
A one-night wake will begin at 3 p.m. today at the Wakpamni CAP Center in Pine Ridge.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Wakpamni CAP, with the Rev. Bill Pauly officiating.
Burial will be at Holy Rosary Mission Cemetery in Pine Ridge.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
Mike Gardner
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Mike Gardner, 37, Albuquerque and formerly of Caputa, S.D., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Lauren Gardner, Albuquerque; two sons, Jeremy Gardner and Gregory Gardner, both of Denver; his parents, Dell and Sharon Gardner, Caputa; and one brother, Bob Gardner, Fort Bragg, Calif.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque, with the Rev. Nancy Fomasi officiating.
French Mortuary of Albuquerque is in charge of arrangements.
Howard Clark Clow
SUN CITY, Ariz. - Howard Clark Clow, 85, Sun City and formerly of South Dakota, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, in Phoenix.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Clow, Sun City.
Services have been held.

June A. Carter
RAPID CITY - June A. Carter, 67, Rapid City, died Saturday, February 9, 2002, at her home.
June was born in Webster, S.D., to Hilman O. Williams and Evelyn Jacobson Williams on April 7, 1934. She graduated from Webster High School in 1952.
She married Jim Carter on October 30, 1977, in Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, James Carter of Rapid City, S.D.; one son, Duane (Holly) Ornes of Puyallup, Wash.; one daughter, Joni (Nick) Bruch of Sturgis, S.D.; three brothers, Harlan (Maxine) Williams and Roger (Helen) Williams, both of Webster, S.D., and Leon (Donna) Williams of Circle Pines, Minn.; two sisters, Helen Fry of Aberdeen, S.D., and Mary Jo (James) Burke of Rapid City, S.D.; and five grandchildren,
Kassandra, Courtney and Christina Bruch, and Madison and Hannah Ornes. Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Connie (Millard) Campbell of Venice, Fla., and Sandra (Tim) Waldrop of Venice, Fla.; three stepsons, Jim (Karen) Carter of Arlington, Texas, Tom Carter of Aberdeen, S.D., and Tim Carter of Venice, Fla.; 13 step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Ted Artz; sister Betty Bender; brother Charles Williams; and one stepson, Nick Carter.
Memorial services will be Thursday, February 14, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, with Reverend Dwight Stensgaard officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.
