Gertrude (Goeken) Blaschke
Gertrude Mary (Goeken) Blaschke, age 92, of Yankton, passed away Friday, February 18, 2005 at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2005, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Yankton with the Rev. Ken Bain officiating. Burial will be in the St. Agnes Calvary Cemetery in Vermillion, SD, at 1:00 p.m.
Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2005, at the Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and granddaughters.
Gertrude was born in West Point, Nebraska, on September 6, 1912, to William and Justina (Struif) Goeken. She married Joseph F. Blaschke on January 24, 1933, in Crofton, Nebraska. They farmed in the Vermillion and Wakonda, SD, areas for 24 years before her husband passed away on January 23, 1959. She then moved to Wakonda before moving on to Yankton in 1961, where she worked for a children's clothing store and then Northwest Electric until she retired.
She was a member of Catholic Daughters, VFW Auxiliary, Ladies of the Moose, Yankton Senior Citizens Center and had served on the St. Benedict and Sacred Heart Funeral Committees. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church until the new church, St. Benedict's, was built and she was a communicant there until she died.
Those who will cherish her memory are her son, Virgel and his wife Donna of Middletown, RI; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman Goeken of Yankton; 3 sisters: Mary Ann Loecker of Yankton; Veronica Lillie of Yankton; and Rosie (Francis) Rieken of Wayne, NE; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; two daughters, Bernice and Bonnie; one grandson; 2 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Benedictine Health Foundation at 1000 W. 4th St., Yankton, SD, 57078.
Norbertha Voll
IRENE -- Norbertha Louise Voll, age 81, of Irene, South Dakota, died Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton.
A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2005, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Yankton with the Reverend Stephen Geiger officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Norbertha was born November 4, 1923, in Yankton County to George Henry and Anna Marie (Mollnar) Voll. She grew up north of Yankton on a farm by the Jim River Bridge. She was baptized, confirmed and a long time member of Martinus Lutheran Church in Utica, South Dakota. She moved to Yankton in 1973. In March of 1992, she became a resident of Sunset Manor in Irene where she had many wonderful caregivers and friends.
Survivors include two nieces: Donna and DiAnn and their families; and special friends, Jane, Herman and Freida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Peter Voll.
Margaret Limoges
Margaret D. Limoges, age 71, of Rochester, MN, and formerly of Yankton, SD passed away early Tuesday morning, February 22, 2005 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton, with Rev. John Fischer officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton.
Visitations will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005, at the Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Michael, David, Dan, and Joseph Limoges, Bill Ford, Harold Jones, and Todd Embrock. Honorary pallbearers will be all Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Margaret was born January 18, 1934, in Yankton, SD. Margaret attended schools in the Yankton area and worked at Human Services Center. Margaret married Leslie Limoges October 24, 1950, at Sacred Heart Church in Yankton. In 1966 Margaret and Leslie moved to Alcester, SD, where they raised their family. Margaret worked at the Morningside Manor Nursing Home until moving back to Yankton in 1988 retiring from the Human Services Center. Margaret's retirement years were spent in Rochester, Mn.
Margaret is survived by her children: Michael (Mary) Limoges, David (Carla) Limoges, both of Alcester; LaVonne (Harold) Jones of Yankton; Dan (Pam) Limoges of Elk Point; Joe (Jeanne) Limoges of Canton; Teresa, (Todd) Embrock of Larchwood, IA; Patty (Bill) Ford, Debbie Limoges, Kathy Limoges, all of Rochester, Mn.; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; 2 granddaughters Chelsea and Bailey; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.
Paul Goeden
Paul J. Goeden, age 92, of South Yankton, Neb., passed away Monday evening, February 21, 2005, at the Lakeside Hospital, Omaha, NE.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2005, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee, NE, with Rev. Michael Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitations will be two hours prior to the mass at the church. Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory of Yankton is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Dan Goeden, Ron J. Goeden, Chuck Gust, Allen Schroeder, Kenny Dreesen and Dick Stratman.
Paul J. Goeden was born on November 2, 1912 to Paul and Julia (Kuchta) Goeden on a farm south of Yankton. He grew up in the Menominee area and attended St. Boniface School. He farmed with his father for many years. On May 8, 1940, he was united in marriage to Delores Tramp in Crofton, NE, then they moved to South Yankton to continue farming until his retirement and to this union six children were born.
Those who will cherish his memory are his six children, Bernadette Heaton of Hacienda Heights, CA, Diane (Roger) Anderson of Yankton, SD, Jerry Goeden of Las Vegas, NV, Ron Goeden of Huntington Beach, CA, Richard (Gail) of Wendell, ID and Mel (Vicki) of Omaha, NE; two brothers: George Goeden of Andover, MN and Anthony (Tony) Goeden of Menominee, NE; one sister, Elizabeth Moss of Oakdale, CA; 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Betty Frank
CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. -- Betty Jane (Hollman) Frank of Castro Valley, CA formerly of Scotland, SD, and Yankton, SD, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2005.
She was born to Herman and Mae (Cisar) Hollman in Scotland. She graduated from Scotland High School in 1957 but lived in Castro Valley for the last 41 years. Betty, a widow of 23 years, was married to Merle Frank for 17 years and had two children.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin of Hayward, CA; son, Merlyn of Bakersfield, CA; son-in-law, Erik; daughter-in-law, Jenny; three sisters, Rosalie Hansen and Clarita Varilek, of Yankton, and Hope (Darrell) Price of Ansley, NE. Her grandchildren, Chancey, Kayla, Emilee, Bryson and Xander.
She enjoyed sewing, photography, vacationing in Hawaii and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert; sisters Darlene Winckler and Shirley Schmidt.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life was held at the Jess C. Spencer Mortuary in Castro Valley, CA, on Sunday, February 20, 2005.

Rosella K. Zahrbock, 76, of Yankton died Sunday (Dec. 19, 2004) at Sister James Care Center, Yankton.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home, Yankton, with the Rev. Dani Jo Ninke-Greaver officiating. Burial is in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton.
Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home, Yankton.

Mae L. Marbach, 103, of Yankton died Wednesday (Feb. 23, 2005) at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton.

Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Friday at the Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, with a 7 p.m. rosary followed by a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service. The family will be present starting at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

TYNDALL -- Lorene K. Panka, 86, of Tyndall died Saturday (Feb. 19, 2005) at the Tyndall Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Tyndall. Interment is in the Tyndall Cemetery.

SIOUX FALLS -- Cheryl Ann Kaiser, 48, of Sioux Falls and formerly of Yankton died Tuesday (Feb. 22, 2005) as a result of an automobile accident near Sioux Falls.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Yankton, with the Rev. David Lund officiating. Burial is in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton.
Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home, Yankton. Visitation resumes one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Mary Jeanne Peterson, 81, of Yankton died Wednesday (Feb. 23, 2005) at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls.

RANDOLPH, Neb. -- Bob Lammers, 74, of Randolph, Neb., died Tuesday (Feb. 22, 2005) at his residence.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph, Neb., with Monsignor Cyril Werner officiating. Burial is in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Fordyce, Neb.
Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. today (Thursday), with a 2 p.m. rosary, at Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, Neb. There is a 7:30 p.m. vigil service tonight at the church in Randolph. Visitation resumes one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
