Sadie Ida (Blum) Leu was born April 10, 1913 to Charlie P. and Allkie (Rippentrop) Blum, at Little Rock, IA. She received her education at George IA, and then went to work for local area farmers as a housekeeper.
She was united in marriage to Harry A. Leu on February 14, 1941 in Worthington, MN. The couple moved to Ocheyedan IA, where they farmed until moving to Sioux Falls in the late 1940’s when she went to work doing housekeeping for Joe Foss. She later worked at the Carpenter Hotel and the Westward Ho Country Club until retiring in 1975.
She enjoyed crocheting, was a very hard worker, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Pearl Tull and her husband Vic, Sioux Falls, Arlene Houtsma and her husband George, Sioux Falls, Allie Fodness and her husband Chuck, Lincoln, NE; a daughter-in-law, Vera Leu, Sioux Falls; 2 stepdaughters, Wilba Van Briesen and her husband Frank, Bellevue, NE, Janice Leu, Sioux Falls; a stepson, Harry R. Leu, Morristown, TN; a sister, Grace Hinders, Sibley, IA; a brother, Ben Blum and his wife Doris, Lucerne, CO; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at George Boom Funeral Home following the committal service.

Evelyn Ruth Peterson, daughter of Henry and Clara (Haugmo) Peterson, was born August 15, 1917 on a farm near Canton, SD. She grew up in the Harrisburg, SD area and attended Harrisburg High School.
Evelyn was united in marriage with Palmer Olson on December 10, 1938 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home there. She worked for JC Penney and Company for five years and Lewis Drug Southgate for five years. She then worked at First Lutheran Church for 18 years before retiring in 1980.
Evelyn was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and was chairwoman of Esther Circle for many years. She also served on the Altar Guild.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Shirley Messner and her husband, Robert, Harrisburg, SD, Jerry Olson and his wife, Vicki, Brooklyn Park, MN; seven grandchildren, Julie Horst and her husband, Greg, Steven Messner and his wife, Carol, David Messner, Brian Messner and his wife, Kelly, Tonya Olson, Stacie Sevigny and her husband, Ed, Brad Olson; three great-grandsons, Joshua Messner, Jacob Messner, Logan Messner; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer, on November 23, 1979; her parents; and a sister, Alida Berg.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at First Lutheran Church following the committal service.

ROSALIE, Neb. -- Phyllis Darlene Joyce Reil, 80, of Rosalie, Nebraska, died on Friday, November 12, 2004, at the Sister James Avera Care Center, in Yankton, South Dakota.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie, with the Rev. Mark Eldal officiating.
A visitation will be held on today (Tuesday) from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE, with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Interment will be in the Bancroft City Cemetery.
Phyllis was born in Stanton, NE, on April 27, 1924, to Jerome and Minni (Heinold) Krutz. She graduated from High School in Pilger, NE, in 1942. She married her life-long partner, Arthur Reil in Wayne, NE, on January 30, 1946. They made their home on a farm near Rosalie, NE and had three children: Carolyn, Jimmy, and Cheryl.
Phyllis was employed for many years at Campbell's in Walthill, NE, and also worked on their family farm. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie and participated in many various activities there.
She enjoyed camping, quilting, crafting, baking, playing cards, and most of all spending time with and spoiling her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending craft shows and selling her crafts with her daughter.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Arthur "Bud" Riel of Vermillion, SD; her daughter, Carolyn Delong and her husband, Paul of Yankton, SD; son, Jimmy Reil and his wife, Wonok of Hazel Green, Alabama; her daughter, Cheryl Jester, and her husband, Mike of Cheshire, CT; and one sister, Lorraine Wegner of Battle Creek, NE. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Flossie and Robinette and brothers: Robert and Jerome.

Angela Love Merklinger, daughter of Charles and Irena (Scott) Merklinger, was born on July 8, 1919 at Aberdeen, SD. She graduated from high school in Dell Rapids, SD.
Angela was united in marriage with Tommy N. Branson on February 20, 1939 in Parker, SD. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Madison, Montrose, and Fedora, SD before moving to Sioux Falls, SD in 1966. Angela worked as a cook for the Ebenezer Nursing Home and then worked at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Sioux Falls for 15 years. Angela was an excellent cook and baker, but above all, she always felt that being a wife and mother was her life’s work. Tommy preceded her in death on May 18, 1993.
She was a former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Tea, SD and St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD before becoming a member of the Parish of St. Michael in Sioux Falls, SD.
Grateful for having shared his life are her son, Gary Branson, Sioux Falls, SD; four daughters, Phyllis Tunender, Norman, OK, Margie Dominy and her husband, Mark, Sioux Falls, Cheryl Crissman and her husband, Ernest, Lennox, SD, Linda Smith, Sioux Falls, SD; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Tommy, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Rex, and Orville; three sisters, Midge Bishop, and two in infancy.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at St. Michael Catholic Church immediately following the Mass and prior to going to Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lennox, SD for the committal service.
