Gerald C. ‘Jerry' Schlueter
FRANKFORT — Gerald C. "Jerry" Schlueter, 63, Frankfort, and formerly of Dupree, died
Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, Frankfort; one son, Wade Schlueter, Alcester; two daughters, Darcy Harlander, Hutchinson, Minn, and Dodie Wangerin, Mitchell; one sister, Donna Larsen, Sioux Falls; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Redfield with the Rev. Peter M. Utecht officiating.
He will be cremated after the services, and his ashes will be buried at a later date.
Patricia Schumacher
PIERRE — Patricia Schumacher, 77, Pierre, died
Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Pierre.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Maher, Pierre, and Pam Ellwanger, Charleston, S.C.; and two sons, Peter Schumacher, Larimore, N.D., and Patrick Schumacher, Durango, Colo.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.
William (Bill) South
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A celebration of life was held July 12, 2000, for William E. South, who passed away
July 4, 2000, at his Springfield home of a pulmonary edema.
He was 76.
He was born
Nov. 7, 1923, in Bates Township, S.D., to Thomas (Ed) and Dorothy Todd South.
He lived in southern California before moving to Grants Pass and then to Springfield in 1968.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II on a cruiser and a destroyer.
He later worked as a mill worker, pipe layer and construction worker.
He married
Bernice Fish in Las Vegas.
She died
in 1992.
Bill enjoyed coin collecting, leathercraft and target shooting.
He also enjoyed country music, playing guitar and, briefly, playing in a band.
He was a member of the Elks and very active in Alcoholics Anonymous, in which he celebrated 41 years.
Once a month, he went to a prison and spoke.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Justice, Pataskala, Ohio, and Carol Ballinger, Springfield; a son, Tim South, Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Herbert South, Eugene, Ore., and Thomas South, Rapid City; one sister, Virginia Moon, Rapid City; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His parents; a daughter, Sheila South; a great-grandson, Spencer Schrade; and a brother, Richard South, preceded him in death.
Lane Memorial Gardens made arrangements for cremation.
Joseph A. Engelhaupt
SUNDANCE, Wyo. — Joseph A. Engelhaupt, 70, Sundance, died
Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish, S.D.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Engelhaupt, Sundance.
Arrangements are pending with Fidler-Roberts Funeral Chapel in Sundance.
Robert B. Young
BELLE FOURCHE — Robert B. Young, 66, Belle Fourche, died
Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Severin, Belle Fourche; three sons, Robert R. Young, Monticello, Ark., William Young, Houston, and Richard Young, Greenville, Miss.; one stepdaughter, Lynda Sims, Susanville, Calif.; two brothers, Richard Young, San Francisco, and Seigfred Surber, Costa Mesa, Calif.; one sister, Virginia Young, San Francisco; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.
Eva M. Hoshaw
MOORCROFT, Wyo. — Eva M. Hoshaw, 84, Moorcroft, died
Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at her home.
Survivors include three sons, Marvin A. Hoshaw, Bloomington, Minn.; Walter B. Hoshaw, Papillion, Neb., and Noel R. Tennant, Rochester, Wash.; two daughters, Barbara Hilkemeier and Margaret Lynch, both of Moorcroft; one sister, Gertrude MacMillan, Moorcroft; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette and from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, with the Rev. Mary Koehler and David Hageman officiating.
Burial
will follow at Moorcroft Cemetery.
Mildred Lukehart
PIERRE — Mildred Lukehart, 76, Pierre, died
Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.
Survivors include one son, Nick Lumby, Pierre; two sisters, Eleanor Wilson, Sioux Falls, and Ethel Wittern, Worthington, Minn.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre, with the Rev. David Zellmer officiating.
Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre is in charge of arrangements.

ALLIANCE, Neb. — Frank B. McCarroll, 74, Alliance, died
Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at Hot Springs Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie McCarroll, Alliance; one daughter, Cendy McCarroll, Edgemont, S.D.; one son, Frank McCarroll, Mitchell, Neb.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Black Hills National Cemetery
near Sturgis.

Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Lacey, Kemmerer, Wyo., and Shirley Woolston, Clarksville, Mo.; one sister, Edith O'Rielly, Hillsboro, Ore.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Rose Hill Cemetery
in Spearfish, with the Rev. Buck Malone officiating.

PIERRE — John D. Zuccaro, 72, Pierre, died
Aug. 8, 2000, at his home.
Survivors include his son, Scott Zuccaro, and Scott's wife, Adelina, of McKinney, Texas; one brother, Chuck Zuccaro, Cappa, S.D.; one sister, Nina Higgins, Powhatan, Va; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre, with the Rev. Hal Barber officiating.
