Florence Anette Addison
STEVENSVILLE, Mont. — Florence Anette Addison, 93, Stevensville, and formerly of Rapid City, died
Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at Bitterroot Valley Living Center in Stevensville.
She was born
on Feb. 12, 1907, at Bedford, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Mertie (Clowser) Cunning.
Florence attended Ferguson Beauty School and learned to ‘marcel' before she graduated from high school. She kept updating her education, and was in this profession until the 1960s. When she retired, she pursued a lifelong dream and became an artist, doing oils and watercolors. She exhibited and sold her paintings in Minneapolis and the Black Hills area of South Dakota. She has two oil paintings hanging in the Central States Fair office in Rapid City as part of a permanent collection. She was a member of Rapid City Art Association and Dakota Artists Guild, both in Rapid City.
Florence belonged to BPO Does Drove No. 331 in Rapid City and was for many years an active member and officer.
On May 6, 1926, she married
Herman H. Wolf in Mitchell, S.D. She later married
John H. Addison on June 25, 1945, in Rapid City.
She lived in the Lead, S.D., and Rapid City areas from 1926 until 1992, at which time she moved to Stevensville.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, Harry and Mertie Cunning, her brother, George Cunning, sister Vona Hubbard, and her husband, John H. Addison.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Lea Wolf Jensen and son-in-law, Bob Jensen, Stevensville; two granddaughters, Susan Jensen, Helena, Mont., and Diana Lewis, Cut Bank, Mont.; and three great-grandchildren, Chris, Lanaia and Megan Lewis, Cut Bank.
Funeral services were held at Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville Sunday, Aug. 6, with the Rev. Connie Sidebottom officiating.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery
in Rapid City with the Rev. Kenn Cragg officiating.
A memorial has been established for the BPO Does Drove No. 331.
Services are under the direction of Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.
Ernest C. Red Owl
KYLE — Ernest C. Red Owl, 33, Kyle, died
Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, in Kyle as the result of a drowning accident.
Survivors include his parents, Arthur and Lavina Red Owl, Kyle; three brothers, Arthur Red Owl, Harold Red Owl and Laban Red Owl, all of Kyle; and three sisters, Darla Red Owl, Diane Red Owl and Laban Red Owl, all of Kyle.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Mediator Episcopal Church in Kyle.
Burial
will be at Mediator Episcopal Cemetery
in Kyle.
Robert V. Klinetobe
RAPID CITY — Robert V. Klinetobe, 79, Rapid City, died
Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at his Rapid City residence.
He was born
Oct. 9, 1920, at Norfolk, Neb., the son of Dick and Della (True) Klinetobe. He served with the 1794th Ordnance, U.S. Army, during World War II. He married
Harriet (Dugdale) Wagoner on Oct. 11, 1948, in Rapid City.
Bob worked most of his life as a heavy-equipment operator, and retired from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology as grounds supervisor in 1983. He was interested in racing and restoring old cars.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet, Rapid City; eight children, Rick Klinetobe and his wife, Ann, Fresno, Calif., Dan Wagoner and his wife, Joann, Oakland, Ore., Shirley Bearce and her husband, Ted, Stockton, Calif., Joyce Saenz and her husband, Rueben, Cathy Atchley and her husband, Mike, Becky Grueschow and her husband, Rich, and Diane Burruss and her husband, Shelby, all of Rapid City, and Bob Klinetobe, Phoenix; four sisters, Delores Harris, Bowdle, Shirley Relf and Charlotte Holter, both of Rapid City, and Bonnie Relf, Black Hawk; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by his parents and four brothers.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at First United Methodist Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. Randy Cross officiating.
Interment, with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273, will be at Black Hills National Cemetery
near Sturgis.
A memorial has been established.

HOT SPRINGS — Marilyn R. Hawley, 62, Hot Springs, died
Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at her home.
Arrangements are pending with Isburg-McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.
Karl Ludwig ‘Loui' Roth
PIERRE — Karl Ludwig "Loui" Roth, 89, Pierre, died
Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda Roth, Pierre; one daughter, LeAnn Way, Winnemucca, Nev.; two sons, Carlyle Roth, Minot, N.D., and Lonnie Roth, Pierre; one sister, Lydia Weiss, Parkston; one brother, Clarence Roth, Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, Aug. 8, at Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre with the Rev. Brad Urbach officiating.
Burial
will be at Riverside Cemetery
in Pierre.
Marian T. (VanCleave) Persons-Shumway
FRESNO, Calif. — Marian T. (VanCleave) Persons-Shumway, 89, Fresno, and formerly of Philip, S.D., died
Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Beverly Manor Convalescent Home in Fresno.
Survivors include three sons, Leroy A. Persons and Gale Persons, both of Fresno, and Clyde O. Persons, Banner Elk, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, two stepchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Masonic Cemetery
in Philip with the Rev. Paul Bly officiating.
Donald R. Hodges
STURGIS — Donald R. Hodges, 83, Benson, Ariz., died
Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, Benson; one son, Barry Hodges, Spearfish; two daughters, Jessica Owens, Willard, Mo., and Sandy Nohra, Roy, Wash.; one brother, Lee Hodges, Whitewood; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Black Hills National Cemetery
near Sturgis with military honors provided by Spearfish American Legion Post 164 and Queen City VFW Post 5860 Honor Guard.

BELLE FOURCHE — Robert J. Jones, 64, Belle Fourche, died
Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at his home.
Survivors include one daughter, Melanie Jones, Upton, Wyo.; two brothers, Fred Jones, Spearfish, and Donald Jones, Munster, Ind.; three half brothers, Albert Jones, Henry Jones and Jimmy Jones, all of Gary, Ind.; and one half sister, JoAnn Strayer, Gary.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Kline-Frost Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Black Hills National Cemetery
near Sturgis.
Ethel Pritzkau
EAGLE BUTTE — Ethel Pritzkau, 97, Eagle Butte, died
Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorane McLellan, Lantry, and Lila Wheeler, Hotchkiss, Colo.; one son, Carl Pritzkau, Lantry; two brothers, Lawrence Fish, Lantry, and Hank Fish, Fort Meade; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupree.
Mildred I. Edlund
LEAD — Mildred I. Edlund, 86, Lead, died
Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanie Kramlich, Lead; and one son, David Edlund, Denver.
Arrangements are pending with Fidler Funeral Chapel in Lead.
L. J. (Bert) Van Dyke
WHITEWOOD — L. J. (Bert) Van Dyke, 74, Whitewood, died
Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Van Dyke, Whitewood; two daughters, Coleen Van Dyke, Phoenix, and Linda Kilcoin, Whitewood; one brother, Richard Van Dyke, Wessington Springs; and three grandchildren.
A commemorative service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, at the South Dakota National Guard Armory in Woonsocket.

RAPID CITY — Mary Loran Simpson, infant, Rapid City, died
Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include her parents, Mike and Lori Simpson, Rapid City.

HOT SPRINGS — Marilyn R. Hawley, 62, Hot Springs, died
Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Hawley, Hot Springs; five daughters, Jane Boggs, Brookings, Danita Branson, Gig Harbor, Wash., and Lynn Hawley, Gwen Hawley-Holinka and Natalie Arendsee, all of Watertown; mother Juanita Schonher, Sioux Falls; four brothers, Spencer Schonher, Bettendorf, Iowa, Carell Schonher, Marshalltown, Iowa, Curtis Schonher, Brandon, Fla., and Larry Schonher, Minneapolis; two sisters, Janet Evangelisto, Chamberlain, and Nadene McAdaragh, Sioux Falls; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Isburg-McColley's Chapel in Hot Springs. Vigil with rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hot Springs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the church with the Rev. John Heying officiating.

will be at 2:30 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery
near Sturgis.
