Jacqueline ‘Jackie' Leila Petersen
RAPID CITY — Jacqueline "Jackie" Leila Petersen, 61, Rapid City, died
Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Evanston Regional Hospital, Evanston, Wyo.
She was born
Sept. 26, 1938, at Atlanta, Ga., to Jack and Merle (Logan) Wood.
She married
Thomas (Tom) Petersen on June 6, 1975, at Lead.
She was a longtime resident of Spearfish and Rapid City.
She was a nurse's aid at St. John's Hospital in Rapid City and Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.
Jackie enjoyed collecting knickknacks, floral arrangements and interior decoration.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas (Tom) Petersen, Rapid City; her mother, Merle Beaton, Jacksonville, Fla.; five daughters, Deberba McNay, Jacksonville, Norma Jean Willier, Rapid City, Yvonne Hurtado, Atlantic City, N.J., Dianna Duckett, Spearfish, and Muriel (Mino) Baker, Black Hawk; two sons, Jeffery Rath, Spokane, Wash. and Michael Rath, Park City, Mont; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by her stepfather, Stanley Beaton, and grandson Matthew Baker.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Behrens Mortuary.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Behrens Mortuary.
Burial
will be in Black Hills National Cemetery
near Sturgis.
A memorial has been established to the Heart Foundation.
Ethel Frances ‘Emmy' Durr
BELLE FOURCHE — Ethel Frances "Emmy" Durr, 82, Belle Fourche, died
Monday, July 31, 2000, at Belle Fourche Long Term Care Center.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, and one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Belle Fourche United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Olson officiating.
Burial
will be at Maple Wood Cemetery
in Norwich, Conn., at a later date.
Larry Denzel Foos
COLONY, Wyo. — Larry Denzel Foos, 68, Colony, died
Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Foos, Sioux Falls; five sons, Ernest Foos and Henry Foos, both of Sioux Falls, Edward Foos, Indianapolis, Ind., Fred Foos, Brighton, Mo., and Larry Foos, Leavenworth, Kan.; one daughter, Velma Hattok, Leavenworth; two brothers, Ron Foos, Sioux Falls, and Leland Foos, Montevideo, Minn; two sisters, Shirley Magneson, Mitchell, and Linda Conn, Madison; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.
Ardith Lynn (Clark) York
LATROBE, Calif. — Ardith Lynn (Clark) York, 45, Latrobe, and formerly of Sundance, Wyo., and Deadwood, S.D., died
of cancer Monday, July 31, 2000, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Gale York, Latrobe; four sons, Kristopher, Tyrell, Francis and Jamison, all of Latrobe; her mother, Verna Clark, Sundance; one sister, Sharon Huber, Newcastle; and one brother, Alan Clark, Gillette.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Episcopal Church of the Good Sheperd in Sundance. Burial
will follow at Green Mountain Cemetery
in Sundance.
Anthony James Whipple
WANBLEE — Anthony James Whipple, Wanblee, infant, died
Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Survivors include his mother, Tracy Whipple, Wanblee; one brother, David Whipple, Wanblee; and grandparents.
One-night wake services will begin at 1 p.m. today at Wanblee CAP Building in Wanblee.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Wanblee CAP Building with the Rev. Daniel Makes Good officiating.
Burial
will be at Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery
in Wanblee.

SIOUX FALLS — Jackson Hullinger, 2, Sioux Falls, died
Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, in Sioux Falls.
Survivors include his parents, Morgan and Gretchen Hullinger, Sioux Falls; and his grandparents.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at American Lutheran Church in Presho, with the Rev. Lori Hope officiating.
Burial
will be at Vivian City Cemetery
in Vivian.
Doyle P. Red Cloud
PINE RIDGE — Doyle P. Red Cloud, 51, Pine Ridge, died
Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include one son, Anthony Waters, Pine Ridge; one daughter, Rosebud Red Horse, Pine Ridge; four brothers, Carl Elk Boy, Bishop, Calif., Winfred Red Cloud, Prairie Island, Minn.; Richard Elk Boy and Donroy Elk Boy, both of Pine Ridge; and five sisters, Mary Ann Red Cloud, and Vera Brings Plenty, both of Pine Ridge, Marie Black Tail Deer, Red Wing, Minn., Lula Red Cloud, Hermosa, and Delia Bear Saves Life, Oglala.
Two-night wake services began Thursday, Aug. 3, at Wakpamni CAP Building in Pine Ridge.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Wakpamni CAP Building.
Burial
will be at Red Cloud Family Cemetery
in Pine Ridge.

Sylvan K. Little Hawk
PINE RIDGE — Sylvan K. Little Hawk, 50, Pine Ridge, died
Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Little Hawk, Pine Ridge; one son, Daniel Jefferson, Tama, Iowa; one stepson, David Whipple, Copiague, N.Y.; two daughters, Audrey Little Hawk and Reva Little Hawk, both of Pine Ridge; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Betonio, Converse, Texas; three adopted brothers, Rudy Under Standing Crow, Oglala, Harry Starr, Batesland, and William Between Lodges, Pine Ridge; three sisters, Agnes Little Hawk and Audrey Shields, both of Pine Ridge, and Lillian Sharpfish, Oglala; one half sister, Lillian Little Hawk, Rosebud; one adopted sister, Edna Eagle Bear, Allen; and six grandchildren.
A two-night wake service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Billy Mills Hall with the Rev. Wendell Ghost Bear officiating.
Burial
will be at Body of Christ Cemetery
in Pine Ridge.
Wanda C. ‘Nan' Osborn
BELVIDERE — Wanda C. ‘Nan' Osborn, 91, Kadoka, died
Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Wanda C. Brownsworth, better known as "Nan" to her family, was born
Jan. 8, 1909, at Chamberlain, the daughter of Fred and Nell (Mullen) Brownsworth, the first white child born
to a family in Belvidere.
Nan grew up in Belvidere and received her education in that community.
She was united in marriage to Wilder R. "Hi" Osborn
on May 19, 1925, at Philip. They made their home in Norris, where they operated a Standard Oil Bulk Agency until moving to Philip in 1936. While in Philip, they operated Standard Oil Bulk Agency until 1942, when they moved to a ranch south of Belvidere that they owned and operated.
After her husband, Hi's, death
on March 30, 1988, she continued to live on the ranch until 1993, when she moved into Kadoka Care Center.
Nan was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka.
Grateful for having shared her life are her four grandsons, Stuart Goldsmith and his wife, Eileen, of Kadoka, Jerry Olson and his wife, Shirley, of Dodgeville, Wis., Douglas Olson and his wife, Kathy, and Michael Olson, all of Sioux City, Iowa, four stepgrandchildren, John Goldsmith of Sioux City, James Goldsmith of Madison, Carla Andersen of Sioux City and Donna Alstead of Moville, Iowa; 22 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Hi, she was preceded in death
by a daughter, Bette J. Goldsmith; a great-grandson, Ryan Goldsmith; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, with a vigil service scheduled for 7 p.m. and then one hour before services on Monday, all at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka.
Mass of Christian Burial
will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, with the Rev. Bob Baden as the celebrant, assisted by Deacon Gene Heckathorne.
Interment will be at Belvidere Cemetery
in Belvidere.
A memorial is established to the Kadoka Ambulance Fund.
Arrangements are with Rush Funeral Chapel of Kadoka.
Horace Quimby
PIERRE — Horace Quimby, 89, Pierre, died
Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Maryhouse Sub-Acute Center in Pierre.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Quimby, Pierre; and one sister, Dorothy Kamback, Fullerton, Calif.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre.
Burial
will be at Riverside Cemetery
in Pierre.
