WANBLEE — Lorraine F. Red Kettle, 60, Wanblee, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Pine Ridge Hospital.
Survivors include three sons, Reed Brown, Sr., Kansas City, Mo., Kevin Lance, Wanblee, and Kenneth Lance, Rosebud; one daughter, Geraldine Richards-Williams, Wanblee; two brothers, Melvin White Bull, Pine Ridge, and John Martin, Kings Canyon, Ariz.; and five sisters, Nonabah Red Kettle, Salt Lake City, Utah, Grace Few Tails, Norma Marshall and Bernadine Huapapi, all of Wanblee, and Mable Hawkins, St. Paul, Minn.
Two-night wake services will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at Crazy Horse School in Wanblee.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Crazy Horse School, with the Rev. Daniel Makes Good and Richard Moves Camp officiating.
Burial will be at Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery in Wanblee.
Sioux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bill Lyons
PIERRE — Bill Lyons, 43, Pierre, died Monday, July 31, 2000, in a motor vehicle accident near Hayes.
Survivors include one son, Brady Lyons, Pierre; one daughter, Brook Lyons, Pierre; his parents, Richard and Bernice Lyons, Winner; four sisters, Marian Murdock, Mapleton, Utah, Katie Lyons, Lake Elsinor, Calif., Linda Lyons, Phoenix, Ariz., and Nancy Raspiller, Scottsdale, Ariz.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre.
Charles Lemmel
WHITEWOOD — Charles Lemmel, 62, Whitewood, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Lemmel, Whitewood; one son, JayDee Lemmel, Longmont, Colo.; one daughter, Janeen Brewer, Loveland, Colo; three brothers, Louis Lemmel, Mud Butte, Phillip Lemmel, Sturgis, and Charles Russel, Sturgis; and two sisters, Phyllis Hohenberger, Newell, and Margery Kinney, Mud Butte.
Visitation will be at Carlsen-Jolley Funeral Home in Sturgis from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, and at the church one hour before the services.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, with the Rev. Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

Eugene L. ‘Gus' Clausen
EAGLE BUTTE — Eugene L. ‘Gus' Clausen, 58, Eagle Butte, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, Eagle Butte; two sons, Troy Clausen and Evvi LaDean Clausen, both of Eagle Butte; two brothers, Bob Clausen, Sturgis, and Harold Clausen, Missoula, Mont.; and his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at the family home in Eagle Butte, with the Rev. Daniel Sheehan officiating. Burial will be in United Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Luce Funeral Home of Eagle Butte.
Florence Elizabeth McGurn
MOORCROFT, Wyo. — Florence Elizabeth McGurn, 85, Moorcroft, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Hagstrom, Moorcroft, and Louise Roberts, Bishop, Calif.; one son, Woodrow Weitzeil, Roundup, Mont.; one sister, Norma Perkins, Toolee, Utah; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Moorcroft Community Center, with President Ray Berger, Moorcroft Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating. Burial will follow at Moorcroft Cemetery.

Sheila Ann Byington
STURGIS — Sheila Ann Byington, 60, Sturgis, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at her home. In keeping with her wishes, her body was cremated. A memorial service will be held later.
Survivors include her daughter, Velvet Gillen, New Underwood; and three sons, Tim Strother, Denver, Colo., Tom Strother, Hutchinson, Kan., and Vincent Baumberger.

BELLE FOURCHE — Ethel F. Durr, 82, Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Belle Fourche Long Term Care Center.

Arlin Eugene Plooster
CHADRON, Neb. — Arlin Eugene Plooster, 65, Chadron, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Chadron Community Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Noreen Plooster, Chadron; his mother, Maggie Plooster, Platte, S.D.; two sons, Curt Plooster, Chadron, and Kevin Plooster, Rapid City; one sister, Gertrude Vanderheiden, Platte; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Chadron, with the Rev. Jim Martin officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron.
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
Willie Burk
VALE — Willie Burk, 79, Vale, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Northern Hills General Hospital in Deadwood.
Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until service time at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
Willie was born July 5, 1921, in Beaver County, Okla., to William and Georgia Burk. He was a World War II veteran. Willie married Marjorie Hawley on Feb. 6, 1952, at Belle Fourche. The couple moved to Lead in 1953. In 1978, Willie retired from Homestake Mining Company after 25 years of service. They moved to Vale in 1979.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Burk, Vale; three children, Norma Peckham, Rapid City, Delmer Burk, Dixmont, Maine, and Mabel Anna Martin, Albion, Mich.; two sisters, Lizzie Oliver, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Joy Jones, New Mexico; two half brothers, Garfield Burk and John Burk; one half sister, Madeline Shriner; seven grandchildren, Rick and Scott Martin, Heather, Justin, and Elizabeth Peckham, Bridget and Delmer Burk; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Jeremiah Peckham, and Shane, Alisha and Lucas Martin; numerous nieces and nephews; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
His parents, two sons, William and Shane, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
A memorial has been established to South Dakota Children's Hospital and School.
Dorothy Louise Finley
RAPID CITY — Dorothy Louise Finley, 59, Rapid City, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, in an automobile accident near Sturgis.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at St. Therese Catholic Church in Rapid City.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at St. Therese Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Arrangements are with Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Dorothy was born Dec. 14, 1940, in Newell to William and Elma (Welch) Curtis. She was delivered by her aunt above a machine shed.
She attended school in Rapid City and then moved with her family to Pierre, where she received the rest of her education.
In 1960, she married Ambrose Lemieux in Pierre. She worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 10-1/2 years. She moved to Rapid City and worked as a title clerk for the Pennington County Treasurer's Office.
Dorothy married Terry Finley on Oct. 14, 1988.
She most recently ran for Pennington County treasurer in the June primary. Dorothy had more than 20 years of experience in motor-vehicle work, and she loved the public and helping others.
Dorothy was active in the Corvette Club and was a member of the Rapid City Eagles Club. She loved attending rodeos and stock-car races. Dorothy loved her family and friends and enjoyed driving her red Corvette.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Finley, Rapid City; one daughter, Becky, and her husband, Leon Feist, and their children, Zachary, Joshua, and Kylie, all of Rapid City; son Jeffrey and his wife, Robin Lemieux, and their children, Jeffrey Jr. and Jennie, all of Pierre; son Gregory Lemieux, Huron; son Michael and his wife, Shelley Lemieux, and their son, Austin, Pierre; son David and his wife, Angela Lemieux, and their daughter, Jordyn, Pierre; her mother, Elma Curtis, Pierre; sister Vesper Swenson, Rapid City; brother Roy Curtis, Little Rock, Ark., and brother Lyle Curtis, Rapid City.
She will be greatly missed by her family, children, grandchildren and the many friends she had. We miss you, Mom.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Larry G. Gross
LEMMON — Larry G. Gross, 28, Lemmon, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, in an accidental drowning at Shadehill Reservoir.
Survivors include his son, Taylor Gross; his parents, Dellas and Iris Gross, Morristown; two brothers, Scott Gross, Tucson, Ariz.; Mitchell Gross, Bismarck, N.D.; four sisters, Tamara Fandrich, Goodrich, N.D., Lori Ophdahl, Manfred, N.D., April Haluzak, Bismarck, and Denise Perry, Malta, Mont.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon, and one hour before services at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon.
A family service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at the church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at the church, with the Rev. Harold Watrous officiating.
Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon.
