Julie Hansmann, 35, of George died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services were Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, George.
Julie Gesink was born March 17, 1969, in Orange City, the daughter of Harvey and Dona Gesink.
She graduated from Floyd Valley High School, then worked as a certified nurse aide at nursing homes in northwest Iowa.
On June 21, 1997, she married
Chad Hansmann in George.
They resided north of George where she operated a tanning business and helped at George pre-school.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Christopher of George; her parents of Alton and two brothers, Randy of Alton and Gary of Hospers.
Palmer Long, 93
Sioux Falls, S.D.

Palmer Long, 93, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare-Covington Heights.
Services were Monday at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, with interment in Grandview Covenant cemetery, Larchwood.
Mr. Long was born Oct. 16, 1910, at Larchwood, the son of Charlie and Emma (Johnson) Long.
He grew up and attended country school near Larchwood, then farmed.
In 1952, he married
Isabelle Peterson at Powers Lake, N.D. They moved to Sioux Falls and continued farming.
His wife died in 1993. He became a resident of Beverly Healthcare-Covington Heights in early 2004.
Survivors include three sons, Daniel of Mandan, N.D., Mark of Sioux Falls and Timothy of Larchwood; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Carl of Harrisburg, S.D., and Joe of Sioux Falls, and one sister, Josephine Oltmanns of Lennox, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers, Ferdinand, Fromalt, Axel, John and David, and four sisters, Amanda, Betty, Sylvia and Roselia.
Byron Kaiser, 52

Byron Kaiser, 52, of George died Friday, June 4, 2004, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Memorial services were Thursday at Central Baptist Church, George, with interment in Evergreen Lawn cemetery.
Mr. Kaiser was born Oct. 16, 1951, at Rock Rapids, the son of John and Anna (Kruger) Kaiser.
He grew up and attended school in the George area.
He received a drafting certificate from Northwest Iowa Community College.
On April 28, 1984, he married
Pamela Eeten in Rock Rapids. He was a truck driver for several years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Byron Jr. of Hawaii and Justin of George; one daughter, Angela Kaiser of George; one brother, Ronald of Estelline, S.D., and two sisters, Joan Steenblock of Humansville, Mo., and Jolleen Meester of Ellsworth, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Anna.
Emil Groon, 89
Arlington, S.D.

Emil Groon, 89, of Arlington, S.D., died Friday, July 23, 2004 at Beverly Health Care Center, Arlington.
Services were July 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Arlington, with interment in Arlington city cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, four sons, two daughters including Mrs. Larry (Marjorie) Hecht of Larchwood, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one brother and three sisters.
Wanda Kruse, 80
Belle Fourche, S.D.

Wanda Kruse, 80, of Belle Fourche, S.D., died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Palms Country View Adult Care.
Services were Saturday, Oct. 9, at Christian Life Center, Belle Fourche, with interment in Pine Slope cemetery.
Wanda Nagel was born Aug. 1, 1924, in Doon, the daughter of Carl and Magdalene (Laackmann) Nagel.
She grew up and attended school in Doon. She attended beauty school in Sioux City and worked in a dairy.
On June 18, 1944, she married
Glenn Kruse in Sioux Falls, S.D. They farmed, milked and operated Kruse Manufacturing near George several years.
They also oversaw their children's operation of Green Acres Dog Kennels, raising several different dog breeds. In the early 1990s, they moved to the Spearfish, S.D., area, later moving to Yankton, S.D., for a time.
They returned to the Black Hills two years ago, living in Belle Fourche.
Following the birth of their daughter, Dianne, the couple adopted three children, were responsible for the immigration of two Korean girls, supported two children in Guatemala and had two foster children and several foreign exchange students.
At Central Baptist Church in George, Wanda was a member of the women's group and taught Sunday School.
She was also a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Kay of Spearfish and Jerry of Roanoke, Va.; three daughters, Dianna Palm of Belle Fourche, Mrs. Steve (Dorene) Schemelfenig of Indianola and Deborah Kruse of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and foster children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerome; one brother, Conrad, and two sisters, Betty Iwen and Glory DeWindt.
Darlene Waagmeester, 67
Sioux Falls, S.D.

Darlene "Dolly" (Jensen) Waagmeester, 67, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at her home after a lengthy illness.
Memorial services were Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls.
Survivors include two sons, two daughters, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three sisters and one brother, Larry Jensen of Doon.
Ernest Alsgaard
Ernest Alsgaard, 80, of Montrose, S.D., died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare Center, Salem, S.D.
Services were Wednesday at Montrose United Methodist Church with interment in Montrose cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, nine children including Mrs. Jim (Marlene) Gerber of Larchwood, 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren and one brother.
