The bride-elect of Abbeville graduated from Abbeville High School. She attended the University of Alabama and is a student at Lander University. She is a scheduler and customer service representative with Greenwood Fabricating & Plating, Ware Shoals Division.
The bridegroom-elect of Abbeville is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Anthony Cobb of Summerville, Ga., formerly of Abbeville. He graduated from Chattooga High School in Summerville and is a locomotive engineer with CSX Transportation.
The wedding is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 1, 2001 at Abbeville Presbyterian Church in Abbeville.

NINETY SIX– Julie Michelle Turner of Ninety Six and John David Leopard of Greenwood were married during a 2 p.m. ceremony Saturday at the Ninety Six Church of God by the Rev. Sanford Hopkins of Cleveland, Tenn.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerald “Ricky” Turner of 230 Lowell St. in Ninety Six. She graduated from Ninety Six High School in 1999 and is a student at Piedmont Technical College. She is employed with Self Memorial Hospital.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger N. Leopard of 222 Eddy Road in Ninety Six. He graduated from Ninety Six High School in 1997. He is a student at Piedmont Technical College and is employed with Solutia Inc.
Alysha Anderson of Ninety Six was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Smith, Tiffany Percival, both of Ninety Six, and Tabitha Notter of Chappells. Junior bridesmaids were Alyssa McInville of Abbeville and Martha Faye Leopard of Ninety Six.
Anna Brooke Turner of Ninety Six was flower girl.
Kristin White of Greenwood was a miniature bride.
The bride, escorted down the aisle by her father, wore a formal gown of white organza featuring an illusion yoke enhancing the neckline. Pearls and lace appliques adorned the fitted bodice closed in back with self-fabric covered buttons. Pearls highlighted the organza skirt flowing into a cathedral-length train enhanced with lace appliques.
Her two-tiered, fingertip-length veil of illusion was caught by a rhinestone tiara.
The attendants wore formal gowns of orchid, blue, pink and sage crepe satin featuring embroidered fitted bodices topping an A-line skirt.
Brian Alexander of Ninety Six was best man.
Groomsmen were Michael Hallman, Travis Hallman, and Jeffrey Leopard, all of Ninety Six.
Junior groomsmen were Ricky Turner and Brian Leopard, both of Ninety Six.
Christian McInville of Abbeville was ringbearer.
The bride’s parents hosted a reception at the church Family Life Center.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, the couple will live at 333 Pinehurst Drive in Greenwood.

GREENWOOD – Lori Leitner Penn and Chad Edgar Robertson, both of Greenwood, were married during a 5 p.m. ceremony Saturday at Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church in Greenwood, by Chaplain William A. Robertson of Columbia.
Wedding music was presented by Betty Jennings of McCormick, organist, and Tara Rice of Greenwood, vocalist.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Patrick Penn of Greenwood. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1995 and from Lander University in 2000. She is employed with Performance Cycle Inc.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry L. Robertson of Greenwood. A 1995 graduate of Greenwood High School, he graduated from Piedmont Technical College in 1999 and from Lander University in 2000. He is employed with Pepsi Bottling Group.
Allison Fulmer Penn of Greenwood was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Angie Robertson Bishop, Chrissy Robertson Williams, Jenny Reighley, Paige Hill and Nancy Dukes, all of Greenwood.
Christin Williams of Greenwood, was flower girl.
The bride wore a white formal gown of white satin featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline. The bodice was embellished with Battenburg lace adorned with pearls. The full-length skirt fell from a princess-style waistline enhanced with a Battenburg cut out. Three satin rosettes highlighted the back accented with matching lace cut outs and a chapel-length train.
Her two-tiered, fingertip-length veil of illusion featured pearl accents and was caught by a headband embellished with pearls. The attendants wore formal gowns of champagne satin featuring short sleeves and an A-line silhouette.
Jerry L. Robertson was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Joshua Williams, Michael Camp, Russell Holley, Brian Penn, Neil Deanhardt and Christopher Hartzog, all of Greenwood.
The bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Inn on the Square.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will live at 414 Chinquapin Road in Greenwood.

Bleckley-Herschede

GREENWOOD – Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cole Bleckley of Lima, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Michelle Bleckley of Greenwood, to Matthew Alan Herschede, also of Greenwood.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Ninety Six High School and attends Piedmont Tech, where she is pursuing a degree in phlebotomy.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lawrence Herschede Jr. He is a 1996 graduate of Starkville High School and attended Lander University. He is employed with Genesis Computer Systems Inc.
A Dec. 27, 2001 wedding is planned at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abbeville at 2 p.m.

DONALDS – Virginia Miller Nickles and Jason Matthew Osborne were married during a 5 p.m. ceremony Saturday at Greenville Presbyterian Church by the Rev. George C. Wilson.
Wedding music was presented by organist Judy Lowry of Due West and vocalist Kellie Griffin of Knoxville, Tenn.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Nickles of Donalds. She is the granddaughter of George Miller and Barbara Miller, both of Abbeville, Margaret Nickles Bell of Due West, and the late Earl Stevenson Nickles. She is a graduate of Clemson University and East Carolina University and is an English instructor at Lenoir Community College in Kinston, N.C.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel A. Osborne of Draper, Va. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Osborne, and Mr. and Mrs. John Roe, all of Kentucky. He is a graduate of Campbell University and East Carolina University and is employed by the Joyner Library at East Carolina University.
Carin Nickels of Due West was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Gretchen Hansell of Columbia, Julie Miller of Abbeville and Sara Goodman Osborne of Gastonia, N.C.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a diamond-white silk dress featuring a sweetheart neckline and long, tapered sleeves that end in points at the wrists. Alencon lace, embellished with pearls and iridescent sequins adorned the fitted bodice. The full skirt fell from a basque waistline and flowed into a semi-cathedral train.
Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught by a tiara of Alencon lace, which was highlighted with pearls and crystals.
The attendants wore formal gowns of Victorian lilac matte satin. The column gowns featured scooped necklines, backs with self-covered buttons and godet trains. Matching chiffon shawls and long gloves completed the ensembles.
Daniel B. Osborne of Gastonia was best man.
Groomsmen were Steven Osborne of Athens, Ga., J.R. Osborne of West Point, N.Y., and Brent Osborne of Draper, Va.
The bride’s parents were hosts at a reception at the church fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip to Charleston, the couple will live in Greenville, N.C.

GREENWOOD – Regina Frey and Will Mast, both of Greenwood, announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is employed as a secretary for Mast Construction Inc. The bridegroom-elect is the owner of Mast Construction Inc.
An Oct. 27, 2001 wedding is planned at Cokesbury College in Hodges at 3 p.m.

ABBEVILLE – Leisa Marie Ellis of Calhoun Falls and Michael Ron Ulrich of Statham, Ga., were married during a 3 p.m. ceremony Oct. 6, 2001 at The Heritage House in Abbeville. The Rev. Marvin Black officiated.
Wedding music was presented by John Ellis of Calhoun Falls.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie “Bigfoot” Ellis of Calhoun Falls. She is a graduate of Calhoun Falls High and Greenville Tech, where she received an associate’s degree in dental hygiene in 1999. She is employed by Drs. F.E. Abell and Christopher G. Collins in Greenwood.
The bridegroom is the son of Ron Ulrich of Winder, Ga., and Deloris Ulrich of Westfield, Wis. He is an irrigation and landscape entrepreneur.
Angela Cade of Calhoun Falls, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Lisa Bell of Calhoun Falls was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were nieces of the bride, Noel Bonds and Felicia Cade, both of Calhoun Falls.
Honorary attendants were Jessica Scott, Susie Turner and Jill Johnson, all of Abbeville.
Adriana Cade of Calhoun Falls, the bride’s niece, was flower girl.
The bride wore a formal gown of white satin with an empire waistline and a scoop neckline. The bodice was embellished with pearls and sequins.
Her double-tiered veil was handmade by her grandmother.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink and cream roses.
Tom Ulrich of Winder, the bridegroom’s brother, was best man.
Groomsmen were Marcus Bonds of Calhoun, the bride’s nephew, and Matthew Ulrich of Winder, the bridegroom’s nephew.
Marcus Ulrich of Winder and Johnathan Ellis of Calhoun Falls were ringbearers.
The bride’s family were hosts at a reception at the Heritage House.
After a surprise wedding trip, the couple will live in Statham.

GREENWOOD – Duane and Cornelia Smith of Greenwood announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Caroline Smith, to Paul Max Heinrich Bollman II of Abbeville.
The bride-elect attended Greenwood High School and is employed with Goody’s Department Store.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Paul and Barbara Bollman of Bradley. He attended Greenwood High School and is employed with the Calhoun Falls Police Department.
A Nov. 3, 2001 wedding is planned at Abney Memorial Baptist Church at 2 p.m.

EASLEY – Lori Marie McClellan of Ware Shoals and Christopher Preston Wood of Easley were married during a 5 p.m. ceremony Oct. 13, 2001 at Rock Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Rod Carver of Ware Shoals.
Wedding music was presented by Becky McAbee of Ware Shoals, Jeff Sager of Laurens, Lyle Jacks of Pickens and Joey Turner of Easley.
The bride is the daughter of Glendel Brown Ashley of Ware Shoals and Donnie Ray McClellan of Honea Path. She is a 1987 graduate of Ware Shoals High School and a 1991 graduate of Wofford College, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in English. She is employed by the Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs as a head and spinal cord injury coordinator. She is also a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Ware Shoals.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Preston Wood of Easley. He is a 1984 graduate of Pickens High School and a graduate of Clemson University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in financial management in 1988 and a master’s degree in business administration in 1992. He is self-employed as a real estate appraiser and consultant. He is a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and a board member of Clemson University Tiger Band Association.
Kelly Cooley Campbell of Spartanburg was matron of honor.
Pam McAbee of Spartanburg was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mandy Chesire and Lauren Alverson, both of Ware Shoals, and Susie Lee Crawford of Greenwood.
Honor attendants were Stacia May, Flo Walls and Bonita Scruggs, all of Greenwood, and Happy McLeod of Pawleys Island.
Bryce Alverson of Ware Shoals was flower girl.
The bride wore a formal white A-line wedding gown featuring an off-the-shoulder scoop neckline encrusted with pearls and crystal beads, a basque waistline and organza skirt that was decorated with embroidery of flowers and leaves, hemmed with a satin band and extended into a chapel train.
The bride wore a tiara encrusted with pearls and rhinestones attached to an elbow-length veil of white tulle.
The attendants wore floor-length lilac gowns made of Umour satin. Their sleeveless dresses were accented with sabrina necklines and embellished at the empire waist with silver beading.
The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Todd Carter of Easley, Erik Williams of Miami, Brian Smith of Atlanta and Matt Spear of Charlotte, N.C.
Ushers were Gerald Brown, Jarrod Moody and Jordan Moody, all of Ware Shoals.
Matthew Carter of Easley was ringbearer.
A reception was at Smithfields Country Club.
After a wedding trip to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Nassau, Bahamas, the couple will live in Easley.

ABBEVILLE – Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lynch of Abbeville announce the engagement of their daughter, Teresa Annanette Lynch of Abbeville, to Christopher Eric Williams of Due West.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School and Greenville Technical College. She is a registered dental hygienist for Dr. Christopher T. Griffin.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Williams of Due West. He is a graduate of Dixie High School and is employed by Solutia as a flake charge coordinator.
A Dec. 1, 2001 wedding is planned at 6 p.m. at Lowndesville Baptist Church.

Wedding music was presented by vocalist Wendy Crisp of Anderson and organist Dayna Reynolds of Greenwood.
The bride is the daughter of Larry T. Brown and Donna Sutherland Dolphin of Greenwood. She is a 1991 graduate of Greenwood High and is employed with The County Bank as consumer relations manager.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Larry Hudson of Greer. He is a 1991 graduate of Byrnes High School and a 1997 graduate of Lander University. He is a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
Tracy Wood of Greenwood was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Holly Hudson of Greer, Denise Bostic of Wilmington, N.C., Jessica Keels of Rock Hill and Paula Simpson, Kristi Herin and Gayle Sutherland, all of Greenwood.
Kayla Chrisley of Greenwood was junior bridesmaid.
The bride wore a formal gown of silk satin in white. The strapless fitted bodice featured a sweetheart neckline adorned with Swarvoski crystals and pearls. The natural waistline was accented with a satin band. The A-line skirt flowed into floor length and formed a semi-cathedral train.
She wore a double-tiered veil of French tulle, that was elbow length and attached to a hand-beaded comb of pearls.
The attendants wore floor-length gowns of Dulciana satin and chiffon of platinum. The sleeveless gowns featured an empire bodice accented with a chiffon overlay and detailed with silver beading at the jewel neckline and on the empire waist. The A-line satin skirt flowed into floor length.
Marty Robinson of Greer was best man.
Groomsmen were Nathan Holman of Simpsonville, Ryan Owens of Greenville and Chip Craver, Drew McCaffrey, Michael Murray, John Schumpert and Mark Williams, all of Greenwood.
The bride’s parents were hosts at a reception at the National Guard Armory in Ware Shoals.
After a wedding trip to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico the couple will live in Greenwood.

Carpenter-Fender

CHARLESTON – Georgia Carpenter and Tom Fender, both formerly of McCormick, were married during an Oct. 6, 2001 ceremony at the historic Wentworth Mansion in Charleston. Magistrate Jake Trantham officiated.
Guests of the couple included family and friends from South Carolina and Illinois.
The newlyweds are making their home in Myrtle Beach.
