Elizabeth Bryson Barmore of Greenwood and James Philip Cannon of Colquitt, Ga., were married at 6 p.m. Saturday at Main Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Patty Griffith-Fallaw of Greenwood officiated.
Wedding music was presented by trumpeters John Cooper and Tim Bivins, both of Greenwood, and organist and pianist Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cowan Gambrell of Greenwood.
The bride is the daughter of Marilyn W. Barmore and James A. Barmore, both of Greenwood. She is the granddaughter of Millie C. Workman of Greenwood and the late Edward F. Workman, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elkin Barmore. She is a 1995 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. She is the owner of Bella Originals jewelry line.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Philip Cannon of Colquitt. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Harrison Nease of Gainesville, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Philip Cannon. He is a 1995 graduate of Miller County High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. He is a landscape architect at the engineering firm of Jordan Jones & Golding in Atlanta.
Holly Katherine Lane of Atlanta was maid of honor.
Allison Adkins Knapp of Charleston was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Meredith Alice Phillips and Courtney Blayne Nuss, both of Atlanta, Kelly Anne Cannon of Colquitt, Shannan Marie Mathis of Valdosta, Ga., Emmy Doolittle Evans and Genevive Taylor Hodge, both of Greenwood.
Honorary bridesmaids were Delaney Elizabeth Batson, Margaret Jamison Schulze, Caroline Granger Schulze and Elizabeth Catherine Charles.
Margaret Gossett McDill of Due West was flower girl.
The bride wore a gown of Italian ivory satin with a strapless bodice and curved Basque waist. The gown was enhanced by pearl and Austrian crystals. A simple A-line skirt completed the understated elegance with fabric button closures extending to the end of the chapel train.
She wore a headpiece of pearls and Austrian crystals attached to a chapel length veil.
She carried a stylized bouquet of stargazer lilies, astilbe, freesia, roses and stephanotis accented with ivy, and her grandmother’s prayer book.
Attendants wore two piece, burgundy gowns featuring A-line skirts with an accordion back pleat and matching burgundy sweaters. The ensembles were completed by necklaces of hand-made glass beads made by the bride.
Gary Philip Cannon of Colquitt was best man.
Groomsmen were Seth Kirksey Cannon of Colquitt, James Alvin Barmore Jr. of Greenwood, Philip Harold Clinkscales and Maddox Pace Clinkscales, both of Blakely, Ga., John Matthew Riley and Jeffrey Scott McPhillips, both of Dalton, Ga., Benjamin Lee Hawkins of Gainesville, Ga., and Matthew Carson Hodges of Atlanta.
Ushers were Madison Edward Workman and Julian Tanner Workman, both of Greenwood.
Matthew Springfield McDill of Due West was ring bearer.
Marilyn Workman Barmore of Greenwood was host of a reception at the Greenwood Country Club.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will live in Lilburn, Ga.

Hawkins-Reiss

BRUGGE, Belgium — Suellen Hawkins, formerly of Greenwood, and Jonathon Reiss of Charleston, were married Oct. 7 in Belgium. The bride’s brother, Ed Hawkins, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Betsy and Graham Hawkins Jr. of Greenwood. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University and the University of South Carolina. She is a psychotherapist and has a private practice.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanly Reiss of Palm Springs, Fla. He is a graduate of Princeton University and is employed by Curry Engineering.
After a wedding trip around Europe, the couple will live in Charleston.

DUE WEST — Emily Caroline Crowther of Central and Rick Wayne Fuller Jr. of Greenville were married at 6 p.m.
Saturday at Due West Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Matthew Richardson officiated.
Wedding music was presented by organist Dr. Matthew Manwarren of Anderson, pianist Kumiko Watanabe of Duluth, Ga., and the Rev. Moses Aleman of Abbeville.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles William Crowther of Abbeville. She is a 1992 graduate of Abbeville High School, a 1996 graduate of Erskine College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology and a 1999 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Public Health, where she received a MAT in public health. She is employed by Clemson University as a full-time visiting instructor of health education.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Wayne Fuller of Spartanburg. He is a 1991 graduate of Byrnes High School, a 1997 graduate of Clemson, where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, and a 1999 graduate of USC, where he received a MAT in math. He is employed by Jacobs Engineering in Greenville as an electrical engineer.
Cristina Anne Richardson of Beaufort was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Heather Prothman Jones and Mary Amanda Lee, both of Columbia, Anna Crawford McMillan of Cornelius, N.C., and Laura Jones Mitchell of Rock Hill.
Honorary bridesmaid was Joanne Marcy-Mariandel Volf of Columbia.
The bride wore a gown of ivory silk dulciana satin, featuring a strapless bodice and contoured neckline highlighted with re-embroidered Alencon lace and a natural waistband accented with satin piping. The full floor-length skirt of satin was detailed with an apron front and adorned with matching lace appliques. The back of the gown was detailed with fabric lace appliques, fabric covered buttons and featured a semi-cathedral train. She wore satin headband adorned with matching lace attached to her mother’s veil of ivory illusion trimmed with Alencon lace.
She carried a clutch bouquet of all white snapdragons, freesia and miniature callas tied with a vintage handkerchief.
Philip Eric Fuller of Spartanburg, the bridegroom’s brother, was best man.
Groomsmen were Thomas Preston Crowther of Charleston, the bride’s brother, John Hite Gallman of Myrtle Beach, George Earl Marshall of Seneca and Clark Daniel Rodeffer of Ann Arbor, Mich.
The bride’s parents were hosts of a reception at the Bowie Arts Center in Due West.
After a wedding trip to Cape Cod, the couple will live in Central.

ATLANTA — Melissa McDuffie and Dr. John W. Gilford Jr., both of Atlanta, were married at 5 p.m. Oct. 19, 2002 at Snellville United Methodist Church. The Rev. A.R. Killian of Athens, Ga., officiated.
Wedding music was presented by Derrick Scott of Gainesville, Fla., and soloists Michael Smith of Gainesville and Elizabeth Booker of Atlanta.
The bride is the daughter of Ivary and Sallie Goodwin of Greenwood, S.C. She is a graduate of Greenwood High School and Piedmont Tech, where she received an associate’s degree in health science, majoring in radiology. She is also a graduate of Lander University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed at Grady Memorial Hospital as an E.R. nurse.
The bridegroom is the son of John and Marie Gilford of Atlanta. He is a graduate of Collinwood High School and the University of Cincinnati, where he received his undergraduate degrees. He is also a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received his masters and doctoral degrees. He is employed by ORC Macro International as a senior research scientist/project manager.
Vonda R. Grant of Atlanta was maid of honor.
Constance P. Booker of Ninety Six was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Rena Marshall, Annissa McDuffie and Crystal Mitchell, all of Greenwood, and Lisa Gordon of North Augusta.
Kristy McDuffie of Atlanta, the bride’s daughter, and Kiera Mitchell of Atlanta were flower girls.
The bride wore a white couture A-line, duchess gown. The gown featured a cluster of white caviar pearls and crystal beading trailing the strapless neckline and ending at mid-back. Satin covered buttons also detailed the beginning of the chapel train. The gown also had a French bustle, which the bride wore during the reception.
She wore a silver crystal and pearl bun wrap attached to a veil designed by her mother.
The maid and matron of honor wore burgundy flat satin, A-line gowns featuring draped chiffon necklines. They carried winter white hydrangeas wrapped in ivory silk ribbons.
Attendants wore two-piece halter style gowns of stone flat satin, with A-line skirts. Their choice of jewelry was crystal earrings and chokers. They carried winter white hydrangeas wrapped in ivory silk ribbons.
Darryl Billingsley of Pittsburgh, Pa., was best man.
Groomsmen were Marshall Henderson of Nashville, Tenn., William Walls and Michael Jennings, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Andre Hall of Fayetteville, N.C., and David Lawrence of Dayton, Ohio.
Ushers were Jermaine Goodwin and Corey Goodwin, both of Greenwood, Ronald Book Jr. of Ninety Six, and Amir Franklin and Armon Franklin, both of Detroit.
Myles Gilford of Atlanta was ring bearer.
The bride’s parents were hosts of a reception at The Atrium in Norcross, Ga.
After a wedding trip to Barbados, the couple will live in Atlanta.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Clarence and Mary Smith of Walhalla. She is a graduate of Lander University and is a teacher at Laurens District 55 High School.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of the late Robert M. Simmonds Jr. and Annette L. Simmonds. He is the step-son of Lynn L. Simmonds of Effingham. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is a copy editor and page designer at The Index-Journal.
The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. Dec. 14 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood.

Wedding music was presented by Kathy Thomson and Renee Murdock and Melissa Henderson, all of Belton, and Beth Croft of Anderson.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wilson of Donalds. She is a graduate of Dixie High School and Erskine College. She is employed by Belton Elementary School.
The bridegroom is the son of Geneva and Steve McCraw of Spartanburg and Jack Billings of Cherry Grove. He is a graduate of Broome High School and is employed by E.C. Transportation.
Brieann Wilson of Florence was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Margaret-Jean Junkin of San Jose, Calif., Lori Florence of Belton, and Carrie Wilson of Baroda, MI.
Samantha and Brooke Billings of Spartanburg were flower girls.
The bride wore a white off-the-shoulder wedding gown featuring long satin sleeves of Schiffli lace. The back of the gown featured a cut-out heart shape, accented with pearl drops. The full skirt had a back peplum that flowed into a semi-cathedral length train trimmed with Schiffli lace cutouts.
She wore a fingertip length veil and carried a bouquet of peach rose buds and white calla lilies.
The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore long, indigo blue gowns and carried bouquets of varied wildflowers.
David Bowen of Greenville was best man. Groomsmen were Ray Billings and Bill Billings, both of Spartanburg, and Don Wilson of Baroda.
Junior groomsmen were Lyal Wilson of Florence and Reid Bolton of Ninety Six.
A reception was at the church.
After a wedding trip to Clearwater, Fla., the couple will live in Belton.

The bridegroom is the son of Robert and Deborah Starnes Sr. of Kinards and Charleen Hawkins of Abbeville. He is a graduate of Florence High School and is a self-employed artist.
The couple now live in Greenwood.
