The bride-elect is a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School and Piedmont Tech in the LPN program. She is employed by Gambro Healthcare in Greenwood.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Michael and Cindy Jones of Abbeville. He is a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School and Piedmont Tech, where he received a degree in electronic engineering technology. He is employed by Merl’s Countertops in Abbeville.
The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. Aug. 24, 2002 at Northside Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls.
Family and friends are invited.

HODGES — Jennifer Jewell Palmer and Cory Stephen Owens, both of Hodges, were married at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hodges Church of God. The Rev. Charles Caldwell of Hodges officiated.
Wedding music was presented by vocalist Stacia Rousey of Abbeville and organist Vicki Samples of Hodges.
The bride is the daughter of Dean Palmer of Ritman, Ohio, and Delma Pitts of Ware Shoals. She is a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and Piedmont Technical College. She is employed by Grace Street Learning Center.
The bridegroom is the son of Steve and Jackie Owens of Hodges. He is a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and is employed by Nation Textiles.
Nikki Owens and Kenzie Owens of Hodges, both sisters of the bridegroom, were maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brooke Knowlton and Casey Bell, both of Greenwood.
Amber Owens of Hodges was flower girl.
The bride wore a white strapless A-line satin gown with an embellished neckline. The skirt and train were accented with embroidery of Venice lace and pearls, with a trail of buttons down the back.
She wore a white satin waterfall veil.
Attendants wore full length, two-piece satin dresses of rainbow colors.
The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Justin Robinson of Ware Shoals, Brian Johnson of Hodges and Trent Bell of Greenwood.
Nicholas Owens of Hodges was ringbearer.
The bridegroom’s parents were hosts of a reception at the church social hall.
After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will live in Hodges.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Wayne and Patricia Moore of Ninety Six. He is a 1986 graduate of Ninety Six High School. He is employed by the Department of Natural Resources, is the Youth Director at Ninety Six Church of God and is president/owner of All God’s Children Inc.
The wedding is planned for 3 p.m. Sept. 7, 2002 at Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Wayne Ashley of Abbeville. He is a 1999 graduate of Abbeville High School and is employed as a park technician at Calhoun Falls State Park. He is also a member of the Abbeville County Cattlemen’s Association.
The wedding is planned for 6 p.m. Sept. 7, 2002, pond side at 2744 Stevenson Road in Abbeville.

The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication. She is the membership manager at the South Carolina Aquarium.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Cain Thomason of Lancaster. He is a graduate of Clemson University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree in horticulture. He is employed as a horticulturist at the South Carolina Aquarium.
The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Sept. 21, 2002 at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church on Sullivan’s Island.

Christine Marie Harrington of Greenville and Giles Martin Schanen Jr. of Greenwood were married at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Resurrection. The Rev. Peter Wortham Hawes officiated.
Wedding music was presented by organist Al Gambrell, flutist/trumpeter Byron Hilley and soloist Becky Sumerel.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Finnell of Mt. Pleasant. She is a 1993 graduate of Wando High School, a 1997 graduate of Clemson University and a 2001 graduate of Marquette University Law School, where she received her juris doctor. She is an associate with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Greenville.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Giles Martin Schanen of Greenwood. He is a 1995 graduate of Greenwood High School, a 1999 graduate of Furman University and a 2002 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, where he received his juris doctor. He will join Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Greenville as an associate in September.
Melissa Ann Finnell of Mt. Pleasant, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Dr. Nancy Carolyn Schanen of Wilmington, Del., and Kathryn Schanen Kissam of Ladue, Mo., both sisters of the bridegroom, and Casey Lee Aiton of Wilmington, N.C., the bridegroom’s cousin.
Heather Dakota Elliott of Mt. Pleasant, the bride’s niece, and Payton McKenzie Schanen of Acworth, Ga., the bridegroom’s niece, were flower girls.
The bride wore a formal gown of white silk organza. Princess line seams formed the strapless bodice and two tiers of embroidered Venice lace adorned the gown’s hem, which was hand-beaded with Austrian crystals and trimmed to the length of the semi-cathedral train.
She wore a headpiece of rhinestone and Austrian crystals attached to a cathedral length veil of French tulle enhanced with matching Venice lace.
She carried a clutch style bouquet of chartreuse cymbidiums and seeded eucalyptus tied with satin ribbons.
Attendants wore gowns of silk chiffon in shell pink accented with hot pink. The strapless bodices featured hot pink chiffon bands. The A-line skirts were floor length and the backs of the gowns were detailed with hot pink cascading streamers.
They carried arm bouquets of two large calla lilies with Italian Ruscus tied with white organza ribbons.
The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Patrick Martin Schanen of Acworth, Jonathon Giles Schanen of Spartanburg and Timothy Giles Schanen of New York, N.Y., all brothers of the bridegroom. Luther Clarence Kissam IV, of Ladue, the bridegroom’s brother-in-law, Joseph Kyle Aiton of Goldsboro, N.C., the bridegroom’s cousin, Joseph Adam Bishop of Greenwood, Derek Joseph Borgert of New York, N.Y., and Gregory Franklin Sears of Anderson.
Luther Clarence Kissam V, of Ladue, the bridegroom’s nephew, was ring bearer.
After a wedding trip to the British Virgin Islands, the couple will live in Greenville.

EDGEFIELD — Kathie Dianne Griffis of Johnston and William Glen Carroll of Greenwood, formerly of Charleston, were married June 29, 2002 at Edgefield First Baptist Church. Debra Griffis-Woodberry officiated.
Wedding music was presented by flutist Carol Chidley and pianist Joanne Painter.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Griffis Jr. of Edgefield. She is the granddaughter of H.H. Griffis Sr. of Edgefield and the late Eloise Griffis and Wallace Eubanks of Edgefield and the late Barbara Eubanks.
She is a graduate of Lander University and is employed by FujiFilm in Greenwood.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Ernest Carroll Jr., formerly of Charleston. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Ernest Carroll Sr. and the late William Glen Pannell and Edith Eisaman.
He is a graduate of Trident Technical College and attended the University of South Carolina. He is employed by FujiFilm.
Patricia Ann Brown was maid of honor.
Krystle Ann Carroll, the bridegroom’s niece, kept the guest book.
The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Ushers were Hugh Wallace Griffis, the bride’s brother, Christopher Allen Carroll and Andrew Michael Carroll, the bridegroom’s nephews.
A reception was at Pine Ridge Country Club in Edgefield.
After a wedding trip to Maui and Kauai, Hawaii, the couple will live in Greenwood.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Kathy and Michael Bertzfield of Plum Branch and Kenneth E. Bottoms Sr. and Cindy Bottoms of Augusta. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Willie White and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bottoms. He attended McCormick High School and is employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad.
The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Sept. 21, 2002 at the Troy A.R.P. Church.
A reception will follow the ceremony at the Troy Community Center.
