GREENWOOD — Shatika Lomax and Andrey Spearman, both of Columbia, were married at 2 p.m. April 13, 2002 at Grace Community Church. Pastor Annette Edwards officiated.
Wedding music was presented by soloists Ragin King and Greg Norman and pianist Brandon Norman.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Lee Lomax Sr. of Greenwood. She is a 1994 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1998 graduate of Winthrop University. She is a member of Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and is employed by the State Auditor’s Office in Columbia.
The bridegroom is the son of Solomon and Ethel Spearman of Greenwood. He is a 1994 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1998 graduate of the University of South Carolina-Columbia. He is a train conductor with CSX Railroad in Cayce.
Crystal Holloway Whitley of Greenville is matron of honor.
Maids of honor were Latricia Lomax of Greenwood and Kattrina Lomax of Columbia.
Bridesmaids were Shun Robertson of Columbia, Stephanie Lomax of Charlotte, Melloney Robinson and Ebony Saxon-Randall, both of Rock Hill and Daheia Barr-Anderson of Greenbelt, Md.
Ashley Gilchrist and Alexis Freeman, both of McCormick, were flower girls.
The bride wore a strapless white satin sheath featuring a pearl encrusted bodice and low back. The gown featured a detachable, five-foot train accented with pearls and patterned in pearls at the edges.
She wore a pearl-encrusted headpiece attached to a hand-sewn, tulle, elbow-length veil.
Attendants wore two-piece periwinkle satin ensembles with floor-length skirts, slit to the knee and fitted tops accented with rhinestone embroidered necklines.
Precious Dunlap of Greenwood was best man. Tammy Spearman of Greenwood was best woman.
Groomsmen were Bobby Lomax Jr. of Columbia, Kevin Lewis, Terrence Crosby, Cedric Louden and Jarrius Spearman, all of Greenwood, Jamar Nesbit of Charlotte, and Jay-Jay Brown of Stone Mountain, Ga.
Derrian Goodman of Greenwood was ring bearer.
A reception was at American Legion Post 224.
The couple will live in Columbia.

GREENWOOD — Harry Phelps and Sharon Thomas announce the engagement of their daughter, Talia Sheree Thomas of Greenwood, to Bryan Antonio Seigler also of Greenwood.
The bride-elect is a 1997 graduate of Emerald High School and a 1999 graduate of Charzanne Beauty College. She is employed by Chick-fil-A.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Luther and Shirley Seigler Sr. of Bradley. He is a graduate of Greenwood High School and is employed by the Eaton Corp.
The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. July 20, 2002 at Northside Baptist Church Family Life Center.

The bride-elect is a 1993 graduate of Wando High School, a 1997 graduate of Clemson University, where she received a bachelor of arts degree summa cum laude, and a 2001 graduate of Marquette University Law School, where she received her law degree summa cum laude. She is an associate with the law firm of Nelson, Mullins, Riley & Scarborough, L.L.P. in Greenville.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Giles Martin Schanen Sr. of Greenwood. He is a 1995 graduate of Greenwood High School, a 1999 graduate of Furman University, where he received his bachelor of arts degree, and a 2002 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, where he received a law degree cum laude. He will be an associate at the law firm of Nelson, Mullins, Riley & Scarborough L.L.P. in September.
The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. Aug. 10, 2002 at Church of the Resurrection in Greenwood.

GREENWOOD — Crystal Amanda Greer and Joseph Lee Boyd, both of Ninety Six, were married at 2 p.m. June 30, 2002 at Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church. Pastor Scott officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Greer of Hodges and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Blohm of Greenwood. She is a 1997 graduate of Greenwood High School and a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Big Blue Club. She is employed by Columbia Staffing.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Boyd of Ninety Six and Janet Boyd of Greenwood. He is a 1996 graduate of Greenwood High School and is employed by Velux of Greenwood.
Shannon Collins of Virginia Beach was maid of honor.
Bridesmaid was Katie Aguilar of Ninety Six.
Junior bridesmaid was Summer Sandola of Leesville.
Libby Greer of Ninety Six and Hope Sandola of Leesville were flower girls.
The bride wore a white spaghetti strap princess dress featuring a satin corset bodice, a tulle skirt accented with beaded Alencon lace motifs and a chapel train. She wore a coordinating diamond and pearl necklace and earrings.
She wore a pearl and rhinestone headpiece attached to a triple-length tulle veil.
Attendants wore knee length, sheer dresses in plum with coordinating shawls, necklaces and earrings.
Joe Boyd of Ninety was best man.
Groomsmen were Mark McDonald of Abbeville and Robert Boyd of Ninety Six.
Connor Greer of Ninety Six was ring bearer.
A reception was at Callie Self Memorial Fellowship Hall.
After a wedding trip to Disney World, the couple will live in Ninety Six.

GRAY COURT — Tara Julia McPherson and Clifton Ramon Johnson both of Greenville, announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the Rev. Francis and Wilhelmina McPherson of Charleston. She is a graduate of Lander University and is employed by Computer Science Corp.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Johnson of Greenwood. He is a student at Lander University and is employed by Scansource Inc.
The wedding is planned for 1 p.m. Sept. 9, 2002 at Mt. Carmel A.M.E. Church in Gray Court.

McCORMICK — Michelle Jennings and Kirk Smith, both of McCormick, were married at 2 p.m. June 8, 2002 at Republican United Methodist Church. Dr. Samuel George and the Rev. Don Alexander officiated.
Wedding music was presented by organist Ellen Schumpert and saxophonist Desmond Harris.
The bride is the daughter of Mary Jennings of McCormick. She is a 1996 graduate of McCormick High School and a 2000 graduate of Lander University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is employed by the McCormick School District as a second grade teacher.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James K. Smith of McCormick. He is a 1996 graduate of McCormick High School and a 2000 graduate of Lander University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management. He is employed by Savannah Lakes Village POA as a marketing manager.
Heather Seigler of North Augusta was matron of honor.
Tracy Jennings of North Augusta, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were April Jennings of Augusta and Jenny Jennings of McCormick, both sisters of the bride and Karianna Smith of McCormick, the bridegroom’s sister.
Kaylee Deason of McCormick, the bridegroom’s cousin, was flower girl.
Escorted by her grandfather, Carl Jennings, the bride wore a two-piece princess style dress with a sheer overlay embroidered with lace and pearls and featured a chapel train.
She carried a bouquet of white roses, white iris, monta casinos, agapanthus, statice and carnations.
Attendants wore floor-length Victorian lilac dresses. They carried bouquets of long stemmed roses, daisies, carnations, delphiniums and iris.
The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Rusty Dickerson of San Diego was honorary best man.
Groomsmen were Demond Harris of Clarks Hill, Lee Atkinson and Jason Schumpert, both of Greenwood.
Daniel Seigler of North Augusta was ringbearer.
Jacob and Jade Deason of McCormick, the bridegroom’s cousins, were acolytes.
The couple were hosts of a reception at the Savannah Lakes Village Tara Club House.
After a wedding trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, the couple will live in McCormick.

GREENWOOD — Mr. and Mrs. James Ellis of Orangeburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Nevasha Shontae Ellis of Columbia to Ram’on Ontarian Wideman of Columbia.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of South Carolina-Columbia, where she received a degree in English/education. She is employed by Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union as a member service representative.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie James and Bettye S. Wideman Sr. of Greenwood. He is a 1998 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 2002 magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina-Columbia, where he received honors in Phi Beta Kappa and a degree in political science/public administration. He is employed by Palmetto AIDS Life Support Services as financial/administrative analyst and will attend the University of South Carolina-Columbia in the fall, pursuing graduate studies in sociology.
The wedding is planned for July 27, 2002 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

SUMTER — Celina L. Dooley of Greenwood and Keith A. West of Sumter were married at 7 p.m. June 22, 2002 at First Baptist Church. Dr. Kirk L. Smith officiated.
Wedding music was presented by organist Gertrude Lyons, harpist Kipper Edens Ackerman and soloists Suzanne Livengood and Marty Atkinson.
Readers were Catherine Carter and Rachel Case of Greenwood.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Pritchard of Sumter. She is a graduate of Sumter High School and Lander University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She will be working with Self Regional Healthcare as a registered nurse.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Alexander West of Sumter. He is a graduate of Sumter High School and Wake Forest University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in history. He is employed as a teacher and football coach by Greenwood School District 50.
Lenia Michelle Dooley of Sumter, twin sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brittney Lynn Trull of Sumter, the bride’s sister, Michelle “Missy” Mason Jones and Stephanie Anne West of Rock Hill, both sisters of the bridegroom.
Sydney Lauren Case of Greenwood and Marjorie Mason Jones of Rockhill were flower girls.
The bride wore a princess line satin dress with a V-neckline and a chapel train featuring a petal shape with insert trimmed in clear sequins and beaded embroidery.
She wore a tiara attached to a chapel length veil.
She carried a bouquet of red roses.
Attendants wore long red dresses with square necklines accented with crystal beading.
The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Troy Patton Hodge and Brandon Charles Hodge, both of Sumter and Roger Travis Johns of Los Angeles.
Ushers were John Kevin Pritchard of Sumter and Brian Wesley Jones of Rock Hill.
Elizabeth Lorick of Greenwood was guest book attendant.
The reception was at the Sans Souci Farm in Sumter.
After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple will live in Greenwood.

FAIN-DAVENPORT

GREENWOOD — Eileen Chapman of Abbeville announces the engagement of her daughter, Julie Adrienne Fain of Greenwood, to Ronald Lee “Chip” Davenport II of Greenwood.
The bride-elect is also the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Fain of Greenwood. She is a 1997 graduate of Ware Shoals High School and a 2002 graduate of Lander University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in business administration with marketing/management emphasis. She is employed by Brunner Manufacturing.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Carol Davenport of Greenwood and Ronald Davenport of Greenwood. He is a 1998 graduate of Greenwood High School, attended Piedmont Technical College, and is a 2001 graduate of the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy. He is a member of the S.C. Army National Guard and is employed by the Greenwood City Police Department.
The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Aug. 24, 2002 at Woodfields Baptist Church.

ST. JOHN ISLAND — Jennifer Elizabeth Gorman and David Nicholas Vetter were married at 5 p.m. May 5, 2002, poolside at Villa Las Brisas Caribe on St. John Island, U.S. Virgin Islands. The Rev. Emmanuel Jaggermsuth officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Frederick Emerson Gorman of Greenwood. She was a former Presidential Intern and a 1985 Massachusetts Miss Teen while attending Hamilton-Wenham High School in Hamilton, Mass. She is a graduate of Duke University and George Mason University, where she received a master’s degree. She is the NIH Director’s Council Coordinator and Public Liaison Manager, Director’s Office, at the National Institutes of Health.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas Vetter of Washington, D.C. He attended the Stanton Military Academy in Cornwall, N.Y., and the American Flyers School of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Captain Vetter is a pilot and flight instructor with Atlantic Coastal Airlines.
Christa McGee of Arlington, Va., and Alba Alman of Fairfax, Va., were maids of honor.
Shayne McGee of Arlington and Raymond Roberts of Fairfax were best men.
The bride wore a floor-length gown of white featuring a matte satin bodice, scooped neckline, Basque waistline and short, cap sleeves. The full skirt was accented with an overlay of white organza and was bordered at the hem with re-embroidered lace. The bodice, sleeves and skirt were adorned with beaded and sequined lace appliques.
She wore baby orchids in her hair.
Attendants wore floor-length, sleeveless gowns of black crepe.
The bride’s father and Jean G. Gorman of Greenwood were hosts of a reception at the Fort McNair Officer’s Club in Washington, D.C., on June 28.
The couple will live in Bethesda, Md.

JONES-ANDERSON

ABBEVILLE — Linda Jones of Mt. Carmel and Daniel Anderson of Greenwood announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Anna Jones Smith of Mt. Carmel and the late Abraham Jones Sr.
