WARE SHOALS — Melanie Marlene Dyal of Laurens and Rodney Bryan Boyter of Hodges were married at 6 p.m. June 8 at Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiated.
Wedding music was presented by Johnny Abrams and Jennifer Padgett.
The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Cynthia Dyal of Laurens. She is a 1999 graduate of Ware Shoals High School and Piedmont Tech. She is employed by Belk of Haywood Mall in Greenville.
The bridegroom is the son of Richard and Sharon Boyter of Waterloo. He is a 1995 graduate of Ware Shoals High School and is employed by Lander University.
Elizabeth Dyal of Ware Shoals was maid of honor.
Crissy Dyal of Ware Shoals was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Julie Bishop and Cyndi Chapman, both of Ware Shoals.
Junior bridesmaid was Kayla Owens of Waterloo.
Tiffani Gaillard of Hickory Tavern was flower girl.
The bride wore a two-piece gown of Italian matte satin featuring a strapless bodice accented with seed pearls, iridescent sequins and Austrian crystals. The front center formed a soft point at center waist and the back featured a corset style self-tie with fabric covered buttons. The A-line skirt formed a self train with lace appliques adorned with seed pearls and Austrian crystals.
She wore a crown of Austrian crystals and pearls attached to a triple-tiered fingertip veil of illusion.
Attendants wore floor-length ball gowns of lilac satin. The strapless dresses were enhanced by floral embroidery at the bodices and at the inverted waists. They were accented with a rhinestone clasp.
Richard “Babo” Boyter of Waterloo was best man.
Groomsmen were Benji Boyter of Waterloo, Kevin Dyal of Ware Shoals and Shawn Smith of Central.
Junior groomsman was John Thomas Abrams of Laurens.
Ushers were Shane Smith of Greenwood and Dusty Dyal of Ware Shoals.
Nicholas Chase Dyal of Ware Shoals was ring bearer.
The bride’s parents were host of a reception at the church.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, the couple will live in Hodges.

CHARLESTON — Margaret Ruth Hall of Charleston and Bryan Rivers Aubrey of Ladson were married at 4 p.m. June 8 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Dr. L.E. Williamson officiated.
Wedding music was presented by soloist Elizabeth Hall, the bride’s sister, organist Greg Jones and violinists Laura Sipols and Heidi Broadwin.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lee Hall Jr. of Simpsonville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hal Moore of Pope, Miss.
She is a graduate of the College of Charleston and attends the Citadel where she is pursuing a master’s degree in psychology.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Durward Aubrey of Ninety Six. He attended the College of Charleston, Bob Jones University and Northside Baptist. He is employed by GardenZone as distribution manager and operation supervisor.
Dana Hall of New Orleans, the bride’s sister-in-law, was matron of honor.
Elizabeth Hall of Myrtle Beach, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor.
Attendants were Lisa Aubrey of Erie, Pa., the bridegroom’s sister-in-law, Valerie Cliff of New York, N.Y., Terrica Radford of Columbia and Adrienne Acosta and Angeline Acosta, of Winnfied, La., both cousins of the bride.
Ming Bullard of Pope handed out programs.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory silk wedding gown featuring a strapless sweetheart neckline that was form fitted throughout the upper bodice area. The gown featured soft sheer English netting that was embroidered with satin and accented with iridescent sequins, fresh water pearls and clear rhinestones. The floor-length gown featured a dropped waistline, back box pleats and an open front panel that lowered into a chapel-length train.
She wore a vintage-look bandeau of filigree rhinestones and baby seed pearls attached to a double-tiered diamond white soft net veil.
She carried a nosegay of wedding white roses, ivory hydrangeas, stephanotis and white gardenias tied with ivory French braiding and sheer organza ribbons.
Attendants wore sterling colored two-piece form fitting strapless gowns of iridescent taffeta. The tops featured a two-fold band around the tops with floor-length A-line skirts. They carried nosegays with braided ivory satin ribbon of ivory roses, lilac hydrangea and stephanotis.
Ben Brownlee of Charleston was best man.
Groomsmen were Les Aubrey of Erie, Pa., the bridegroom’s brother, Chris Christian and Shannon Hess, both of Charleston, Robb Long of Rock Hill and Lee Hall of New Orleans, the bride’s brother.
The bride’s parents were hosts of a reception at Magnolia Plantation.
After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple will live in Ladson.

SPARTANBURG — Marie Winn Faulkner and David Cordell Taylor, both of Spartanburg were married at 6:30 p.m. June 8 at Saint John’s Episcopal Church. The Rev. Mark Allen Bourlakas officiated.
Wedding music was presented by Celia Tolar-Bane and Steve Cotsford, both of Columbia.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evans Taylor Barnette of Columbia.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Henry Tollison of Columbia, Mrs. Hugh Boyce Faulkner Jr. of Rock Hill and the late Mr. Faulkner and Mr. and Mrs. William Augustus Barnette Jr. of Greenwood.
She is also the daughter of Hugh Boyce Faulkner III of Edisto Beach.
She is a graduate of Dreher High School and Converse College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary and deaf and hard of hearing education. She is a teacher at Inman Elementary in Spartanburg School District One.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Winston Cordell Taylor of Spartanburg.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Myers Wood of Zionsville, Ind., and Mrs. Wilbur Jennings Taylor of Wilmington, N.C., and the late Mr. Taylor.
He is a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Wake Forest University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is employed by McHam and Company.
Isbell Lane Irick of Mount Pleasant was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Susanne Atkinson of Marion, Laura Ramsay Barr and Lucy Heath Lee, both of Mount Pleasant, Michelle Slater Faw of Greenville, Rebecca Macfie Irick of Columbia, Julie Elizabeth Johnson of Raleigh, N.C., Louisa Covington Jordan of Atlanta, Stacey Danielle Kelley and Ann Wilson Mullins, both of Hartsville, Katherine Michelle Quick of Charleston and Brooke Eubanks Williams of Anderson.
The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Nathan Bowen Atkinson of Winston-Salem, N.C., Phillip Griffin Bell and Stanley Michael Pack Jr., both of Birmingham, Ala., Jason Sanders Blanton of Greenville, George William Gramling of Gramling, Clyde Peebles Harris III and William Early Hayes, both of Raleigh, Andrew Oltman Mathews and David Ryan Wilkins, both of Richmond, Va., Mark Kenton Rogers of Pawley’s Island and Steven Myers Taylor of Atlanta, the bridegroom’s brother.
Ushers were Mallory James Edwards, Norman Frederick Pulliam Jr. and Thomas Kirkland Pulliam, all of Spartanburg, Thomas Carleton Rich of Raleigh and Melville Carter Sorrel of Charlotte.
Readers were Laura Ramsay Barr of Mount Pleasant and Catherine Patterson Gramling of Gramling.
The bride’s parents were hosts of a reception at the Columbia Museum of Art.
After a wedding trip to Nevis, West Indies, the couple will live in Spartanburg.

SUMMERVILLE — Jennifer Rebecca Alexander of Summerville and Scott Darren Swain of Columbia were married at 3 p.m. June 7, 2002 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The Rev. Michael Lumpkin officiated. Wedding music was presented by vocalist Lynne Brown and organist Tom Bailey, both of Summerville and violinist Karen Ling of Mount Pleasant.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Michael Alexander of Summerville. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston, where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is a first grade teacher at Newington Elementary School in Summerville.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Vance Swain of Abbeville. He is a graduate of Greenwood High School; Francis Marion College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in physics; Clemson University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; and USC, where he received a master’s degree and a Ph.D in marketing. He served in the Navy and is a professor at Boston University.
Sunny Swain Prince of Seneca, the bridegroom’s sister, was matron of honor.
Hailey and Emily Shuler of Summerville were flower girls.
The bride wore a candlelight gown with clear crystal beading adorning the bodice and train, featuring criss-crossed straps.
She wore a comb headpiece of crystal beads attached to an elbow-length satin trimmed veil.
The matron of honor wore a full-length lavender Georgette dress with an empire waist and rosette back with a detachable train.
The bridegroom’s father was best man.
Ushers were Daniel Schnauthiel of Mt. Pleasant, Alex Jankowsky of Huntersville, N.C., Spencer Cameron Swain of Navarre, Fla., the bridegroom’s brother, and Robert Blake Carpenter of Simpsonville, the bridegroom’s cousin.
Ring bearers were Ethan Sansom Swain of Seneca, the bridegroom’s nephew, and Letitia Zaire Carpenter of Greenwood, the bridegroom’s cousin. The girl ring bearer’s dress matched the matron of honor’s.
Andrew Kilmartin of Avon Lake, Ohio, the bride’s cousin, was reader.
The bride’s parents were hosts of a reception at Doar Hall at the church.
After a wedding trip to Folly Beach, the couple will live in Boston.

GREENWOOD — Kristen Brook Downs and Thomas Bruce McMillan Jr., both of Greenwood, were married at 7 p.m. June 8, 2002 at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. John R. Wall and the Rev. Jill Johnson-Duffield officiated.
Wedding music was presented by the Rev. Robert Glick, John Cooper and Ranessa Lewis.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bruce Downs of Greenwood. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brooks Downs, Mary Anderson Disher and the late E. Denis Disher. She is a 1997 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 2001 magna cum laude graduate of Presbyterian College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is employed by Laurens District 55 as a kindergarten teacher at Hickory Tavern Elementary School.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bruce McMillan Sr. of Union. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wendell McMillan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Metzger. He is a 1996 graduate of Union High School and a 2000 cum laude graduate of Newberry College, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in communications with a minor in business administration and sports management. He is an alumni member and former officer of Theta Chi Fraternity. He is employed by Milliken and Company in Abbeville.
Melissa Baker of Greenwood was matron of honor.
Alixe Steinmetz of Ninety Six and Amanda Latham of Atlanta were maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sarah Trotter of Greenwood, Virginia McMillan of Union, sister of the bridegroom, and Whitney Pernell of Pfafftown, N.C., cousin of the bride.
Christina McMillan Woods, the bridegroom’s sister, was the registry attendant.
The bridegroom’s father and Otis “Dusty” Pervis Henry III of Mauldin were best men.
Groomsmen were James McMillan, the bridegroom’s brother, Gregory Jenson of Harrison, Tenn., Henry Ellwood Peabody III of Rock Hill and Andrew Gray of Greenwood.
The bride’s parents were hosts of a reception at Hunter’s Creek Club House.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will live in Greenwood.

KIEV, UKRAINE — Elena M. Malskaya of Kiev and Mikhail A. Malsky of Turukhansk, Russia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Alesya Mikhailovna Malsky, to Arthur Lee McCallum of Moscow, Russia.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of the late Laura Willena Harper Fortson and John Sam Fortson. He is a graduate of Elberton High School.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester J. Reynolds Jr. of Lexington. She is the granddaughter of Faye Taylor of Gilbert and the late Colie Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Lester J. Reynolds Sr.
She is a graduate of Lexington High School and Lander University. She is employed by Greenwood School District 50.
The bridegroom is the son of Kathryn Hall Blackmon of Greenwood and the late Thomas Foy Blackmon. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Foy Blackmon, the late Frances Flanders Johnson and the late Charlie Franklin Hall. He is a graduate of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School and Piedmont Tech. He is employed by Southland Log Homes in Irmo.
Melissa Reynolds was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sara Donnelly, Shana Fanning and Amy Hughes.
Junior bridesmaids were Brittany Lampp and Claire Lampp.
Patrick Blackmon was best man.
Groomsmen were Mack Graham, Kenny Talley and Greg Reynolds.
Ushers were Jay Timms and Jason Watts.
A reception was held at the church’s reception hall.
After a wedding cruise to the Southern Caribbean, the couple will live in Greenwood.

Wedding music was presented by pianist Betty Cannon.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Wendy Powers of Greenwood. She is the granddaughter of Betty Leroy of Ware Shoals, and the great-granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.F. Alverson of Greenwood.
v She is a 2001 graduate of Greenwood Christian School.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kelley Ballenger Sr. of Independence, Va., and Susan Russell of Duluth, Ga. He is the grandson of the Rev. and Mrs. Don Ballenger of Pinebluff, N.C., and Sarah Carpenter of Lincolnton, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Voiselle of Ninety Six. He is the great-grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hager of Alexis, N.C.
He is serving in the Navy and is currently a student at the U.S. Naval Submarine School in Groton, Conn.
Angela M. Watts of Donalds, the bride’s cousin, was matron of honor.
Alex Ballenger of Independence, the bridegroom’s sister, was flower girl.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white “Cinderella” gown with short sleeves. A satin corset bodice adorned with pearls and crystals accented the square neckline. The full ball gown of tulle was detailed with pearl beaded lace appliques that extended into a chapel train.
She wore a crystal crown tiara attached to an elbow-length veil of illusion accented with tiny crystal flowers and edged with white satin.
She carried a bouquet or navy, white, and pale yellow roses, accented with pearl sprays and baby’s breath and tied with navy and white satin ribbons.
The matron of honor wore an Elizabethan style floor-length gown of pale yellow satin which featured a georgette beaded split front.
She carried a hand-blown glass wand adorned with a pale yellow rose and rosebud tied with navy and white satin ribbons.
Thomas Ballenger of Independence, the bridegroom’s brother, was best man.
Ushers were Dennis Clark of Greenwood and Sam Watts III of Donalds.
William Ballenger of Independence, the bridegroom’s brother, was ring bearer.
The bridegroom wore his dress whites Naval uniform.
The bride’s aunts were hosts of a reception at the church social hall.
The couple will live in Groton, Conn., while the groom completes sub school.
