Mary Evelyn Frazier, 66, of 230 Virginia Ave., widow of William Rudolph Frazier, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at her home.
Born in Washington , D.C., she was a daughter of the late Steve and Mildred Helmuth Joseph. She was Catholic.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Owens of Greenwood and Tina Argo of Abbeville; three sons, Terrence Whitt and Irvin Whitt, both of Greenwood and Stephen Whitt of Rock Hill; a sister, Emily Acker of Waterloo; three brothers, Richard Langley and James Langley of Pennsylvania and Don Langley of Virginia; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Tony Foster.
Visitation is 1-2 today at the funeral home.

Violet Harris
ABBEVILLE — Violet Brannen Harris, 82, resident of 105 Heathwood Drive, widow of John Andrew Harris, Jr. died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Abbeville Co. Memorial Hospital.
Born in Chester, SC she was a daughter of the late Lindsey and Foy Hazelwood Brannen.
She was a retired registered nurse having graduated from the Lander College School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for Dr. A. G. Oliver for over 30 years. She was a charter member of The Abbeville Cotillion and was also past president. She was also associated with the Abbeville Opera House for many years. She was also very active and associated with Lotto Jeans Dance Recitals. She was also very active with the Abbeville High School Grenadier Band. She was a former past president of The Grenadier Band. She was a member of Main St. United Methodist Church where she once served as the church pianist.
Survivors are: Her daughter Patricia and son-in-law Richard Detreville, Greenwood, SC; grandson, R. Lindsey and wife Kellie Detreville, Greenwood, SC; grandson, Bill L. and wife Jennifer Detreville, Greenwood, SC; great-grandchildren, Riley, Rich, Will, Mary Brannen and Olivia Detreville, Greenwood, SC; sisters, Emily Marie Freeman, Raleigh, NC and Nancy Brannen Kelley, Columbia, SC; brother, James Wylie Brannen, Geneva, Alabama; sister-in-law Ruthie Harris, Abbeville; brother-in-law Graham Harris, Greenwood, SC; sister-in-law, Martha Brannen, Edgemoore, SC; and life long friend Virginia Ferguson and family, Don & Dawn and girls; beloved friend, Murray Thompson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lindsey Brannen and sisters, Mildred Croxton and Margrite Brice.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 11, 2003 at 2:00 PM from Main St. United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bob Clemons and Jerry Pickens officiating. The Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 til 8:00 PM Thursday evening. The family is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Patricia Detreville, 105 Heathwood Drive, Greenwood, SC.

Marion V. Ivey
BRADLEY — Marion Estelle Voiselle Ivey, 74, of 2622 County Line Road, widow of William M. Ivey, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Gertrude Maddox Voiselle. She retired from Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant and was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Butler of the home; three sisters, Louise Kelley, Annette Voiselle and Jannette Voiselle, all of Greenwood; a brother, Bobby Voiselle of Greenwood; and three grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Walter Butler. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Bobby Voiselle, Herbert McCoy, Howard McCoy, Kenneth Fuller, David Kelley and Bobby Fisher.

Parham Tuck
SUMMERVILLE — Parham Smith Tuck, 86, of 174 Frank Drive, formerly of Verdery, widower of Nadine Hart Tuck, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Summerville Medical Center.
Born in Halifax County, he was a son of the late Charles B. and Hattie Herbert Elliott Tuck. He retired in 1982 from A.M. Tuck Construction Co., Verdery. He was a member of Cedar Springs Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Betty Timmons of Bonneau and Mary Taylor, with whom he made his home in Summerville and step-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 2:30 p.m. Friday in Edgewood Cemetery, Greenwood, conducted by the Rev. Don Elliott.
Visitation is 1-2 Friday at Blyth Funeral Home.

WARD — Ruth Trotter Bray, 79, formerly of Route 1, died Saturday, July 12, 2003 in Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Elzie L. and Bessie L. Butler Trotter and the wife of the late Leroy W. Bray. She was retired from Riegel Textile in Johnston and was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sisters, Annette McCarty of Saluda, Helen Duncan of Batesburg, Elsie Bedenbaugh of Leesville, Lillie Mae Berry of Trenton and Dorothy Rodgers of Saluda; two brothers, Paul Trotter of Greenwood and Ernest Trotter of McCormick.
Graveside services are 5 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Gary Romines.

Kenneth Crawford
SALUDA — Doyle Kenneth Crawford, 76, of 223 Centennial Road, died Sunday, July 13, 2003 at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of Nancy Salter Crawford and the late Elgin Attaway Crawford. He was a graduate of Saluda High School and an Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of the Travis Masonic Lodge for 55 years, a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of Gassaway United Methodist Church. He was retired from Savannah River Plant and was a farmer and cattleman.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Pow Crawford of the home; three daughters Mrs. Michael (Janice) Rushton of Saluda, Mrs. Tony (Carolyn) Merchant of Saluda and Mrs. Jeff (Elaine) Friar of Matthews, NC; his mother, Nancy Salter Crawford of Saluda; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are 3 p.m. Tuesday at Gassaway United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Tina Thomas. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Sidney Hughes
NEWBERRY — Sidney St. Clair Hughes, 49, of 221 Twin Ponds Road, died Saturday, July 12, 2003 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born in Charleston, he was a son of Emmett S. and Mable R. Hughes. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents of James Island; his wife, Gale Bishop Hughes of the home; three daughters, Stacy Hughes of Charleston, Karey M. Leist of Cayce, and Noel H. Emily of Conway; two sons, Michael S. Hughes of Summerville and Ryan N. Hughes of Myrtle Beach; two brothers Mark Hughes of James Island and Doug Ethridge of Ashe, NC; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a mother, Clarice Bunch Hughes Dunn.
Services are 6 p.m. tonight at Whitaker Funeral Home. Burial is 4 p.m. Tuesday at Live Oak Memorial Park, Highway 61, Charleston.

Frances Koepp
CLEARWATER, FLA. — Frances Scurry Dyer Koepp, born July 16, 1910 in Chappells, SC passed away in Tarpon Springs, FL on July 11, 2003.
She was a 1927 graduate of Greenwood High School, Greenwood, SC and a 1931 graduate of Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA. In 1939 she was married to Bradbury Dyer Jr. of East Berne, NY and after residing in Brooklyn NY and Arlington, VA, they moved to Madison, NJ in 1946. During the illness and after the subsequent death in 1954 of her husband, she taught in the Madison public school system until 1974.
In 1974 she married Herbert A. Koepp (d 2001), also of Madison NJ, and in 1975 moved to Clearwater, FL.
Mrs. Koepp was one of ten children of Nancy Bullock and Drury Ralph Scurry of Chappells, SC. She was predeceased by brothers, Dr. C.J. Scurry and Ralph Scurry of Greenwood, SC; Drury Vaughan Scurry, John Scurry and Wilson Scurry of Chappells, SC; Grady Scurry of Laurens, SC and Roy Scurry of Summerville, SC as well as her sister, Lillian Scurry of Chappells. Surviving is her sister, Anna Lyle Sammons of Huntington, West Virginia.
She is also survived by her son Bradbury Dyer, III, of Dallas, TX and her daughter, Nancy Anne Dyer of New York City, NY. She was predeceased by her youngest son, David Warren Dyer (d 1995) of Princton, NJ. Additionally she is survived by two step-daughters, Ms. Patricia Koepp, Peoria, AZ and Ms. Carol Koepp of Centerville, MA; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Koepp was a former member of Madison United Methodist Church, Madison, NJ and was a member of St. Andrews Church in Dunedin, FL.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Soule Chapel United Methodist Church near Chappells, SC with Rev. Paul Frye officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

RUTHERFORDTON, N.C. — Gazzie Hord Putnam, 99, widow of the late Albert H. “Ab” Putnam, died Sunday, July 13, 2003 at Holly Springs Senior Citizens Home.
Born in Rutherfordton, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma Hord. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Women’s Missionary Society, the choir and was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include a son, Alvin H. Putnam of Greenwood; a daughter, Ruby Byrd of Beaufort, S.C.; a brother, Russell Hord of Shelby, N.C.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Clifford Bradshaw. Burial is in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
