William Hart Sr.
GREENWOOD — William Hart Sr., 78, of 120 Walker St., widower of Minnie Lee Mathis Hart, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Joel and Pecola Waller Hart. He was a former employee of Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works and a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Brotherhood and the Willing Workers. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, St. Charles No. 310.
Survivors include a son, William Hart Jr. of Greenwood; three daughters, Shirley Mathis of Greenwood, Mary Ann Hart of Irmo and Brenda Kay Hart of the home; a brother, Brewer Hart of Greenwood; two sisters, Donella Dandy and Susie Woodley, both of Greenwood; three grandchildren reared in the home, Latrece Hart of Irmo, Erica Hart Rice of Columbia and Jason Mathis of Willow Grove, Pa.; three great-grandchildren.

GREENWOOD — Frances Hunnicutt Hughey, 80, of Apt. 3-K Hampton House, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Patterson and Fannie Mae Turner Hunnicutt. She retired from Bond Furniture and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Motte of Greenwood; a brother, J.P. Hunnicutt of Greenwood; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Paul Reid.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Brooks, Vernon Mundy, Clyde Atkins, Mike Motte, Chris Motte and Casey Motte.
Visitation is from 7-8:30 tonight at Harley Funeral Home.

GREENWOOD — Gladys Lewis, 67, of 340 Louvenia St., wife of E.V. “Steve” Lewis, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at her home.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Maxie and Ida Davis Andrews. She was a member of Little Zion A.M.E. Church, where she was a choir leader. A retiree of Kemet Electronics, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Greenwood-Abbeville A.M.E. District Choir.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Jennifer “Lisa” Lewis Jones of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Horace Andrews of Waterbury, Conn.; a sister, Annie Lewis Kinard of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.

WACO, Texas — The Rev. William Charles Treadwell Jr., 70, husband of Lu Treadwell, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002 in Waco.
The body is being returned to Greenwood, S.C., where services will be announced by Blyth Funeral Home.
Margie Bannister
ABBEVILLE — Marjorie “Margie” Cornelia Bannister, 90, of 430 old Calhoun Falls Road, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late James Daniel Bannister Sr. and Nancy Lee Campbell Bannister. She was a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church, where she was secretary of the Junior Department for 36 years and a TEL Sunday School Class member.
Survivors include three sisters, Lillis Bannister of the home, Charlotte B. Smith and Harriett B. Cartledge, both of Abbeville; and a brother, Fred T. Bannister of Abbeville.
Services are 4 p.m. Saturday at Abbeville First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Reiny Koschel. The body will be placed in the church at 3. Burial is in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

GREENWOOD — Millie Nelson Golding, 88, of 124 Highland Drive, wife of Jones C. “Jake” Golding, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Charles T. and Ollie Smith Nelson. She graduated from Greenwood High School and attended Newberry College and Metropolitan Nursing School, New York City. She retired in 1966 as manager of Sears in Greenwood. A member of the First Presbyterian Church, she was also a former member and past president of the Chrysanthemum Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband of the home; and a brother, Frank Nelson of Tybee Island, Ga.
Graveside services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, conducted by Dr. John Livingston.

Born in McCormick County, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Carey Norman Jones. He was a member of The Holy Rock Reformed Episcopal Church and a retired employee of Jockey International Manufacturers.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Robbie Jones of the home; six sons, Johnny Callaham of Petersburg, Va., Joseph Jones Jr., Roosevelt Jones, Claude Moss and Clyde Moss, all of Willington and Willie Jones of Abbeville; a stepdaughter, Lucille Callaham of Willington; two brothers, Arthur Hill Jr. of Abbeville and Willie T. Jones of Albany, N.Y.; a sister, Bernita Harris of Willington; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Vic and Irene Landrith. He was a member of New Vision Tabernacle, a Korean War Army veteran, and was retired from Torrington Bearings Co.

Born in Seneca, he was a son of the late John Posey and Vena Sanders Reeves. He retired after 35 years with Liberty Life Insurance Co., where he had been a manager. He was a member of Concord Community Church, where he was an elder.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Miriam R. Cromer of Anderson; a son, Larry D. Reeves of Anderson; three sisters, Ruth Tinsley of Greenville, Eloise Queen of Gastonia, N.C., and Pauline Black of Greenwood; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Born in Hodges, she was a daughter of the late Barney and Fannie Poore Bell. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Formerly, she was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Anderson for many years.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail Rounsley and Rebecca Martinez, both of Warren and Gloria Tinsley of Greenwood; a sister, Mary Cadden of Bradley; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
