NINETY SIX — Dorothy Louise Lollis Mason, 54, of 401 S. Cambridge St., wife of William “Walt’ Mason, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Ware Shoals, she was a daughter of the late James C. and Edna Davenport Lollis. She was employed in flea market sales and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two daughters, Tracy Stewart of Greenwood and Terry Lynn Ngueyan of Chattle, La.; a stepson, Billy Morse of Ninety Six; a stepdaughter, Rena Hammett of Ninety Six; a sister, Diane Richardson of Hodges; and five grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Thursday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Frankie May. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Billy Morse, Wesley Morse, David Morse and Ken Turner Jr.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her sister, Diane Richardson, 118 Maness Drive, Hodges.

WHITMIRE — Charles Derek Thomas McCall, of 116 Morse St., 8 ½ months, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of Larry and Brenda Kaye Shealy McCall.
Survivors include his parents of Whitmire; three brothers, Brian McCall, Kevin McCall and Steven McCall, and two sisters, Sara McCall and Angel McCall, all of the home; and maternal grandparents, Nell and Clifton Shealy of Greenwood.
Graveside services are at 3:30 today in Whitmire Cemetery, with visitation after the services.

Jesse James Perrin Sr.
CONWAY, N.C. — Jesse James Perrin Sr., 60, husband of Marjarie Perrin, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at Nash Hospital in Rocky Mount.
Born in McCormick County, S.C., he was a son of Sallie L. Perrin and the late Smith Perrin. He was a cement finisher and a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of McCormick; a son, Jesse James Perrin Jr. of Velsic, Germany; three daughters, Connie S. Perrin of Spotsylvania, Va., Teresa Hiddleston and Tammy L. Wheeler, both of Fredricksburg, Va.; two brothers, George S. Perrin of McCormick and Bobby Murray of Greenwood, S.C.; four sisters, Brenda Murray, Linda Murray and Janet Hill, all of McCormick and Mamie Lee Jones of Greenwood; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Service are 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, McCormick, conducted by the Rev. Isaac Booker III, pastor. Burial is in the church cemetery.

NORTH AUGUSTA — Margaret Quarles, 85, of 1300 Talisman Drive, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at University Hospital in Augusta.
Born in McCormick, she was a daughter of the late Augustus Quarles and Martha Nobles Newson. She was a member of Bailey Bethel A.M.E. Church, McCormick, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir, the Missionary Society and the Bailey Bethel Singing Convention. She was also a member of Springfield Burial Aid Society and Edgefield Burial Aid Society.
Survivors include a son, Odell Quarles of Greenwood; three brothers, Willie Newson, Otis Newson and Hayward Newson, all of Philadelphia; three sisters, Julia Hill of Promised Land, Martha Edwards of Callison and Bertha Mathis of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Thursday at Bailey Bethel A.M.E. Church, McCormick, conducted by the Rev. J.W. Paul. The body will be placed in the church at 1. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Flower bearers are members of the church Missionary Society and church ushers.

GREENWOOD — Minnie Lee Robinson, 76, of 201 Cole St., wife of Charlie D. Robinson, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Will and Ada Andrews Syrkett. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a retiree of the former Nantex plant.
Survivors include her husband of the home; three sons, Stanley Robinson, Larry Robinson and Mitchell Robinson, all of Philadelphia; four brothers, Clayton Syrkett and Franklin Syrkett, both of Greenwood, Charlie Syrkett of Attleboro, Mass., and Ernest Syrkett of Philadelphia; five sisters, Bennie Mae Holloway, Elease Bolden and Henrietta Harrison, all of Greenwood and Frances Griffin and Rose Brown, both of Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

GREENWOOD — Arena Wash Williams, 82, of 302 Ron McNair St., widow of P.C. Williams, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at her home.
Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Wash and Nancy Tolbert Wash Lagroon. She was a retiree of Greenwood School District 50, dietary department. A graduate of Edgefield County schools, she attended Voorhees College and was a member of Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Edgefield.
Survivors include four sons, P.C. Williams Jr. and Edward Odell Williams, both of Richmond, Va., Michael Williams of Niles, Mich., and Robert L. Williams of the home; four daughters, Christine W. Wiley of Norristown, N.J., Barbara W. Hudson of Greensboro, N.C., Nancy W. Reese and Shirley W. Kinard, both of Greenwood; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

TABOR CITY, NC - Bernice Wray of Tabor City, North Carolina, wife of 64 years of J. C. Wray died Tuesday, January 8, 2002.
Among her survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Chaplains Mitchell and Carol Wray of Greenwood, and grandchildren, Vernon Peppers of Hodges, Nancy Ollis of Ware Shoals, and Donna Peppers of Greenwood.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Tabor City Baptist Church. The family will receive friends after the service.

CROSS HILL — Eddie M. Davenport, 60, of 809 McCrary Road, husband of Shirley Fuller Davenport, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.
Born in Joanna, he was a son of the late Jobie and Alice Morgan Davenport. He retired from Monsanto and was the former owner of The Shade Tree. He served in the Army and was a member of the Moose Club, Joanna, and Joanna First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Steve Holt of Gray Court; a daughter, Debbie Davis of Greenwood; a grandson of the home, Jason M. Holt; two sisters, Ruth Sligh of Newberry and Jeanette Baker of Ninety Six; two brothers, Jeff Davenport of Waterloo and Jimmy Davenport of the Philippines; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are at 3 Friday at Oakbrook Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, Greenwood, conducted by the Rev. Chuck Pace. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park.

Born in Whitmire, she was a daughter of the late William Frank and Willie Roddy Sinclair. She was a homemaker and a member of First Wesleyan Church.

AIKEN — Olean Cowan Rice, 80, widow of Edward Rice, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Pepper Hill Nursing Care in Aiken.
Born in Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Walter L. and Aurie McClain Cowan. She was a retired weaver with Graniteville Co. and a member of Bethcar Baptist Church, Wagener.
Survivors include four brothers, Harry Cowan, Charlie Cowan and Walter Cowan, all of Greenwood and Clarence Cowan of Sumter; and a sister, Evelyn Quattlebaum of Riley, N.C.
Graveside services are at 3 Friday in Graniteville Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Chris Addie.
