GREENWOOD - Sara Alice McManus King, 81, of 119 Wells Avenue, wife of Luther M. King, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2001 at Wesley Commons Health Care Center. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late John Nick and Lola Norman McManus. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the Mason Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred N. McManus and J. Frank McManus.
Surviving is her husband of the home; a daughter, Sara Norman King Johnson of North Augusta and a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Carol and Joseph K. Orr, IV of Atlanta, GA; a niece, Annette McManus Hemingway of Jacksonville, FL; a nephew, Robert McManus of Lake City, FL; four grandchildren, Kelly J. Boyd and King Johnson, both of North Augusta, Kyle Orr and Jake Orr, both of Atlanta; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Main Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Jenkins and the Rev. Jim Medley officiating. Burial will be in Green-wood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be King Johnson, Jake Orr, Wayne Rogers, Shannon Boyd, Bruce Higgingbotham, Fred Alewine, Jimmy Young, Sammy Ouzts, Charles Johnson, and Buddy Rollins.
Honorary escort will be members of the Mason Sunday School Class of Main Street United Methodist Church.

Emma MacTaggart
GREENWOOD — Emma Clark MacTaggart, 82, of Wesley Commons, widow of Andrew J. MacTaggart, passed away July 1, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Newark, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Alfred S. and Emily Eschenfelder Clark. A graduate of Keane State University and Seton Hall University, she was an elementary school teacher and special education teacher in the Maplewood/South Orange school district of New Jersey. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, where she taught adult Sunday School classes. She was also an active member of garden and study clubs and a volunteer for the Literacy Council and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Surviving are two sons, Alan C. MacTaggart and Donald R. MacTaggart Sr., both of Greenwood; two sisters, Evelyn Binder of Apalachin, N.Y., and Agnes Coull of Sea Girt, N.J.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 5 Tuesday at Blyth Funeral Home by Dr. John Wall. Burial is in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, N.J.
Visitation is at the funeral home from 4-5 Tuesday.

Allen White
HODGES — Allen White, 90, of 933 Townsend Road E., widower of Mary Townsend White, passed away June 30, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Scott Allen and Mattie Wrenn White. He retired from Daniel Construction Co. A member and former Sunday School superintendent and lay leader of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, he was also a member of Bascomb Masonic Lodge No. 363 and an honorary member of Hodges-Cokesbury Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy W. Campbell of Hodges; two sons, Billy White of Hodges and Bob White of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sisters, Lucile Davis of Saluda and Sarah Davis of Due West; a brother, Clarence White of Hartwell, Ga.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 Tuesday at Blyth Funeral Home by the Rev. Nena Reynolds. Burial is in Hodges Cemetery.
Pallbearers are members of Bascomb Masonic Lodge No. 363.

Willie Mosley Wright
McCORMICK — Willie Mosley Wright, 89, husband of Ada Norman Wright, passed away July 1, 2001, at McCormick Health Care Center.
Born in Lincoln County, Ga., he was a son of the late Moody L. and Gertrude McNair Wright. He was a retired poultry farmer and a member of Republican United Methodist Church, where he was a former treasurer and a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and the Men’s Club.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Annette W. Blanchett of Abbeville; two sons, Wallace Wright of McCormick and Gene Wright of Moorsville, N.C.; three sisters, Kathleen W. Reed and Betty Jane Wright, both of Lincolnton, Ga., and Lena W. Gotchall of North Augusta; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 4 Tuesday at Republican United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Sam George. Burial is Overbrook Cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight in the church fellowship hall.

SALUDA — John Henry Graham Jr., 31, passed away July 19, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Newberry County, he was a son of John H. Graham Sr. and Greta C. Graham. He was a member of Pine Pleasant C.M.E. Church.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Regina Graham, of Johnston; his mother of Lanham, Md.; a son, Travan D. Graham of Lanham; a daughter, Shanunaduo Harrison of Columbia; two brothers, Maurice Sheppard and Jarvis Sheppard, both of Johnston; a sister, Cassandra McCullough of Edgefield; a stepsister, Kimberly Gilchrist of Greenwood; and a grandmother, Emma Coleman of Saluda.

Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Emmie McAllister. He was the owner of Nu-Way Convenience Stores. Survivors include his wife of the home; six daughters, Debbie Hall, Sherry Clark, Edie Brock, Kathy Rutland, Lisa Claudette Reece and Angie Nickles, all of Greenwood; a son, Gregg McAllister of Greenwood; a sister, Joyce Scott of Greenwood; two brothers, Jimmy McAllister of Waterloo and Carroll McAllister of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 Sunday at Harley Funeral Home by the Rev. Bobby Davis. Burial is in Oakbrook Memorial Park.

GREENWOOD — Russell C. “Russ” Perrone, 85, of 108 Sheffield Road, husband of Erma Langley Perrone, passed away July 20, 2001, at his home.
Born in Boston, he was a son of the late Joseph R. and Pauline Ciccio Perrone. He graduated from Colt High School, Boston, received a bachelor of science degree from Holy Cross College, Worcester, Mass., and did two years of post graduate study at Georgetown University, Washington , D.C. He was a World War II Army veteran, and he retired as a trade relations representative for Astra Pharmaceutical Products in Worcester.
A member of Tranquil United Methodist Church and the Clark Sunday School Class, he was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club of the church, Golden K Kiwanis Club and was a golfer and former member at the Greenwood Country Club.
Survivors include his wife of the home.
Services will be conducted at 3 Sunday at Tranquil United Methodist Church by the Revs. Jim Patterson and Earl McCombs. Burial is in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2.

NINETY SIX — Sherlean Jackson Lewis, 59, of 103 Panther Drive, wife of Willie Lewis Sr., passed away July 21, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Allean Butler Jackson and the late Artis Austin. She was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall East Congregation, Greenwood, Jehovah’s Witness. She was a Kingdom publisher.
Survivors include her husband of the home; her mother of Ninety Six; three sons, Artis Lewis of Greenwood and Ricky Lewis and Willie Lewis Jr., both of Ninety Six; three daughters, Angela Roper of Greenwood, Janice Hentz of Ninety Six and Pamela Lewis of the home; two brothers, Phillip Ray Jackson of Ninety Six and Andrew Jackson of Greenwood; three sisters, Ruby James of Phoenix City, Ala., Annie J. Jackson of Ninety Six and Judith Williams of Columbus, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren, with one granddaughter of the home, Taikeymah Washington .
Services will be conducted at noon Wednesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Greenwood, by Elder John E. Dendy. Burial will be in Ninety Six Community Cemetery. The body will be placed in the hall at 11 a.m.

GREENWOOD — James Sylvester “Jeff” McKee, 64, of 8 Gilliam Court, passed away July 22, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Lillie Mae Ross Williams and the late Sylvester McKee. He was a member of Second Damascus Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother of Greenwood; two sons, James Thomas McKee and Guy William McKee, both of Greenwood; two sisters, Lillie R. Hill of Promised Land and Betty J. Williams of Greenwood; and five brothers, Arthur McKee of Anderson and Willie B. Williams, Milton Williams, Clayton Williams and Donnie Williams, all of Greenwood.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia L. “Jenny” Rothrock of the home; a son, Ralph Rothrock Jr. of Hodges; a sister, Mary R. Pinson of Greenwood; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
