SENECA - Mary Grace Whitmire Hull, age 85, of 810 Ploma Drive, Seneca, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2001 in Mariner Health Care Center.
Born in Oconee County on August 18, 1915, Mrs. Hull a retired Administrative Assistant with J.P. Stevens Company. She was a member of Westminster Baptist Church, Ladies Adult Sunday School Class, member of the D.A.R., Lazy Daisy Garden Club, and the Oconee Museum Association.
Survivors include: step-son and daughter-in-law James S. and Louise Hull of Greenwood; stepdaughter and son-in-law Kathy and Bill Mays of Clemson; 4 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grand-children.
Mrs. Hull was preceded in death by husband; Harold Sullivan Hull, parents; James Dillard and Minnie Patterson Whitmire, brother; Edgar J. Whitmire, and sisters; Mallie and Glana Whitmire.
Funeral will be 2 P.M. Saturday, April 14, 2001, from the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home, Westminster, with Dr. Randy Keasler officiating. Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
The body is at Sandifer Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. The family will be at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to Westminster Baptist Church, P.O. Box 375, Westminster, S.C. 29693.

Romelo Nicholas Gibson
McCORMICK — Romelo Nicholas Gibson, 2, son of Quenshia Avery and Rodney Gibson, passed away at Self Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include two brothers, Rodney Gibson Jr. and Rageim Gibson, both of Winnsboro; maternal grandmother, Thelma Barr of McCormick; maternal grandfather, Bernard Barr of Greenwood; paternal grandmother, Floree Gibson of Gastonia, N.C.; paternal grandfather, Toby Gibson of Ridgeway; and maternal great-grandmother, Lizzie T. Avery of McCormick.
Services will be at 11 Monday at the Shiloh AME Church, conducted by the Rev. Wayman Coleman III. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home of his great-grandmother, Mrs. Avery, 208 Brown St.

EDGEFIELD — Bruce Carrol Hall, 67, husband of Edith Jackson Hall, passed away April 13, 2001.
Hall was a retired miller with Johnston Flour Mill.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Nicholson; a son, Tommy A. Hall; five brothers, Bartley, Harold, Leonard, Lester and William Hall; a sister, Marie Turner; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 Monday at Bland Funeral Home Chapel, Johnston. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Johnston.
Visitation is from 6:30-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mary Lilla Dixon Hill
GREENWOOD — Mary Lilla Dixon Hill, 87, of 112 Eve St., widow of Herman Odell Hill, passed away April 13, 2001 at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Effie Gibson Dixon. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a former choir member, Sunday school teacher, church historian, musician and church secretary. She was also a member of United Methodist Women, Administrative Board and Building Committee.
She was a lay person to the Annual Conference, a retired elementary school teacher and a graduate of Brewer Normal School. Survivors include a sister, Vera Dixon Doughtery of Louisville, Ky.; and a foster daughter, Rose Henderson of Greenwood.
Graveside services will be at 4 Monday at Evening Star Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. James Key.
Pallbearers will be the Methodist Men.
Flower bearers will be the Methodist Women.
Visitation is from 2-3 Monday at Robinson & Son Mortuary Inc.

WARE SHOALS — Martha Rebecca Gwinn Burkett, 42, wife of Paul David Burkett of Martin Road, passed away Saturday at her home.
A native of Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Dallas Nickles and Alice Rebecca Quinn Gwinn.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Paul David Burkett Jr. of the home and Roy Lewis Nickles Gwinn of Simpsonville; a daughter, Katie Rebecca Holder of Clinton; a sister, Alice Gwinn Shifferly of Clinton; and three grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 3 at Parker-White Funeral Home, with the Rev. Calvin Branch officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Laurens.

William McSwain Cromley Jr.
SALUDA — William McSwain “Mack” Cromley Jr., 79, of 327 Greenwood Highway, husband of Martha Livingston Cromley, passed away April 15, 2001, at his home.
Born in Chappells, he was a son of the late William McSwain Cromley Sr. and Annie B. Coleman Cromley. He moved to Saluda, where his father founded Cromley Motor Co. in 1929. A president of Cromley’s Inc., he attended The Citadel and Newberry College and served in the Army during World War II. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 65, a past president of the Saluda County Chamber of Commerce and a director for the state Chamber of Commerce. He was on the board of directors for the South Carolina Automobile Dealers Association, a past president of the Saluda Lions Club and a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church of Saluda, where he had served as chairman of the church council. For 15 years, he was on the South Carolina Board of Corrections, serving as secretary, vice chairman and chairman. He was also chairman of Travis Park Cemetery Commission.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Jane Cromley Curtis of Fairfax Station, Va., and Linda Cromley Renwick of Newberry; a son, William McSwain Cromley III of Saluda; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 Wednesday at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church.
Visitation is at the home.

Lee Vonica Rapp Elmore
GREENWOOD — Lee Vonica Rapp Elmore, 56, of 204 Sycamore Drive, wife of the Rev. Willie Elmore Jr., passed away April 15, 2001, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late John Quincy and Emma Lewis Rapp. She was a member of St. Paul FBH Church, where she was a former YPI president and choir member. She was a 1963 Brewer High School graduate and a former teacher aid with Greenwood School District 50, Central School.
Survivors include her husband of the home; three sons, Willie Elmore III of Greenwood, Anthony Leon Elmore of Gunpowder, Md., and John Quincy Elmore of the home; a daughter, Veronica Eyvette Elmore of the home; a brother, Clyde Rapp of Waterbury, Conn.; two sisters, the Rev. Dorothy Rapp of Greenwood and Ella M. Graves of Washington , D.C.; and seven grandchildren.
