Martell J. Brown
McCORMICK — Martell J. Brown, 15, of 272-B Church St, passed away May 23, 2000.
He was a son of Sandra Mims and Robert Rhinehart and was under the guardianship of Mary Hardy and Jerry Wideman. He attended John de la Howe School and Mount Zion AME Church and was a member of the Friendship Community Choir.
Survivors include his mother and father, both of McCormick; three sisters, Lateidrya Mims, Watonya Jackson and Yashika Hardy, all of McCormick; two brothers, Eldrick Payton of Plum Branch and Tracy Searles of Trenton; maternal grandmothers, Willie Mae Hardy and Mary M. Searles, both of McCormick; and paternal grandfather, Mr. Bernice Harris of Willington.
Services will be announced by McCormick Memorial Chapel, which is in charge.
Ivan Corley
GREENWOOD — Ivan Eugene Corley, 59, of 103 Woodbine Court, husband of Mary Southerland Corley, passed away May 24, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Visitation is from 7-8:30 Friday at Blyth Funeral Home.

Lawrence E. Higgins
LANCASTER — Lawrence Ellison “Sonny” Hagins, 70, of 405 Camellia Circle, husband of Sara Robinson Hagins, passed away May 24, 2000, at his home.
Born in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Angus W. and Marian McCants Hagins. He was co-owner of Porter Belk Lumber Co. and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, the Rev. Mack Hagins of Chelmsford, Mass., Sam Hagins of Wichita Falls, Texas and Jeff Hagins of Lancaster; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Vickie) Chandler of Greenwood; a brother, Angus B. “Buddy” Hagins of Lancaster; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Judy) H. Paul of Penrose, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Needham Williamson, pastor. Burial will be in St. Luke United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-8 Friday at Hartley Funeral Home, Lancaster.

Donald E. Hinton
GREENWOOD — Donald Edward Hinton, 60, of 214 Saddle Trail, passed away May 24, 2000, at Anderson Area Regional Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Edward C. and Sarah Rankin Hinton. He was a retired manager of Handi Pantry and co-owner of the Dairy Twirl. He was a member of the Moose Club and Greenwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammie Pennington of the home; a sister, Sue Hinton Price of Greenwood; and four grandchildren of the home, Andrew Pennington, Ronica Pennington, Anna May Pennington and Nathan Pennington.
Services will be at 3 Friday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. James Boling. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Andrew Pennington, Justin Price, Coye Adams, Connor Price, Wayne Capell, Chris Pless and Dan Gorman.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of his sister, 200 Irvins Circle, Greenwood.

GREENWOOD — Austin Kaine Holladay, infant son of Billy Eugene Cantrell Jr. and Karen Holladay, passed away May 24, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.

GREENWOOD — Breanna Oshay Jackson, infant daughter of Brad Jackson and Tilia Harrison, passed away May 23, 2000.

Eddie Morgan
EDGEFIELD — Eddie Morgan, of 163 Plum Branch Road, husband of Corressa Watts Morgan, passed away May 23, 2000, at Edgefield County Hospital.
Born in Edgefield County, he was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Moores AME Church, where he served as a steward, a choir leader and church treasurer. He was also a member of Moore Lodge No. 68.
Survivors include his wife of Edgefield; two daughters, Gwendolyn Stevens of Edgefield and Eddie Ruth Hooper of Graniteville; two sisters, Eliza Ann Readen and Sallie Williams, both of Edgefield; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 Saturday at Old Mount Zion Baptist Church, Epworth, conducted by the Rev. Joseph Mason. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-8 Friday at Moores AME Church, Edgefield.

Maria A. Nickles
GREENWOOD — Maria Agnes Nickles, 74, of 421 Stevens St., passed away May 25, 2000, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late William McKnight and Mellie Taylor Nickles. She retired from Greenwood Mills, working at Mathews and Greenwood plants and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of Augusta Highway Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Elizabeth Norman, Miriam Smith and Dorothy Ann Black, all of Greenwood; and two brothers, William S. Nickles of the home and Junior L. Nickles of Greenwood.
Services will be at 2 Saturday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Craig Hughes. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Todd Smith, Rick Smith, Timmy Norman, Mike Norman, Tommy Nickles and Scott Nickles.

GREENWOOD — Henry Prince, 71, of 210 New Market, Lot 9, widower of Betty Prince, passed away May 24, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Jessie Prince and Bud Langford. He had attended Greenwood County schools.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Robinson and Charlotte Robinson, both of Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, James Prince of Greenwood; and five grandchildren.
Services will be announced by McCormick Memorial Chapel, which is in charge.
Vada Mae Trotter
GREENWOOD — Vada Mae Bledsoe Trotter, 81, of 309 Baldwin St., wife of Charles W. Trotter, passed away May 24, 2000, at National Health Care of Laurens.
Born in Aiken, she was a daughter of the late Broadus and Florence Beard Bledsoe. She was a route carrier for the Index-Journal and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Saluda.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Donald Keith Trotter of Greenwood and Charles David Trotter of Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Myrtice Cato of Warrenville; two brothers, Charlie Bledsoe of Belvedere and Tracy Bledsoe of Warrenville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 Friday at Shiloh United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Fred Treaster and the Rev. John Griffith. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers are Keith Trotter, Chris Eubanks, Tony Dilleshaw, Jason Watts, Jeremy Watts and Jonathan Watts.
