William Roy Davis
WARE SHOALS William Roy Davis, of 53 E. Cork St., husband of Maurine Emerson Davis, passed away Dec. 24, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Henry Frank and Ella Lynn Land Davis. He retired from Daniel Construction and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Phillip Roy Davis of Ware Shoals and Kent Emerson Davis of Cokesbury; a daughter, Cynthia Maurine Davis of the home; four brothers, Wayne Davis of Ware Shoals, Bobby Davis of Greenwood, Kenneth Davis of Holden Beach, N.C., and Eddie Davis of Mooresville, N.C.; four sisters, Alma McFadden of Greenwood, Myrtle Davis of Augusta, Toni Ruff of Pomaria and Jolene Armstrong of Belton; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 Wednesday at First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Byron Wood. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are nephews.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at Parker-White Funeral Home.

ABBEVILLE Lois McIlwain DeLoach, 84, of 111 Central-Shiloh Road, widow of Levy DeLoach, passed away Dec. 25, 2000, at her home.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Sarah Beatrice McCord McIlwain. She retired from Oxford Industries and was a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. William (Toncie) Robinson of Greenwood and a brother, Charles W. McIlwain of Abbeville.
Graveside services will be at 2 Wednesday in Long Cane Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Howard Whitehurst.
Visitation is from 12:30-1:30 Wednesday at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.
Family members are at their respective homes.

JOANNA Bessie Elizabeth Eubanks, 65, widow of Lloyd Eubanks Sr., passed away Dec. 24, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Lloyd Eubanks Jr. of the home; seven daughters, Carrie Gibson, Margaret Eubanks, Mary Powell and Tammy Medlin, all of Joanna, Minnie Knight of Kinards, Lauretta Griffin of Clinton and Susan Smith of Spartanburg; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 today at Gray Funeral Home, with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens, both in Clinton.

William F. Garris Jr.
CHERAW William Franklin Sonny Boy Garris Jr., husband of Susie Horne Garris, passed away Dec. 24, 2000, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, N.C.
Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late William Franklin and Eva Mae Tice Garris. He was a retired truck driver for B.C. Moore and Sons and a member of Westside Baptist Church. He also served in the Army in Korea.
Survivors include his wife of Cheraw; two sons, John William Garris and Jason Wayne Garris, both of Cheraw; three daughters, Ann Quick of Bennettsville, Lin Shelley of McColl and Susan Jones of Kershaw; two sisters, Shirley Chapman and Ruby Brigman, both of Cheraw; two brothers, Ray Garris and Edward Garris, both of Cheraw; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 today at Westside Baptist Church, with burial in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.

GREENWOOD Bibb Graves Jones, 66, of 415 E. Henrietta Ave., passed away Dec. 23, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Alabama, he was a son of the late Joe and Thelma Lora Carrington Jones. He had worked in an oil field in Houston and was a professional golfer and bowler. He was a member of Ninety Six First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Juren of Greenwood; and a grandson.
Graveside services will be at 2 Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home of Homer and Totsye Walker, 220 Port Royal Drive, Harbor Heights, Ninety Six.

GREENWOOD Dexter Nicholson, 29, of 624 Lindsey Ave. Extension, passed away Dec. 25, 2000, at his home.
Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Amos and Beatrice Sanders Nicholson and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his parents of Greenwood; two brothers, Anthony Nicholson and Derrick Nicholson, both of Greenwood; two sisters, Lorraine Ross of Greenwood and Diane Mathis of Saluda; and paternal grandmother, Callie Nicholson of Ninety Six.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Willie S. Harrison. Burial will be in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

ABBEVILLE James Harold Sears Sr., 84, of 64 Pinehurst Drive, widower of Maude Edwards Sears, passed away Dec. 24, 2000, at his home.
Born in Fair Play, he was a son of the late William T. and Naomi Hudgens Sears. He was a retired textile employee with Burlington Mills, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Albert T. Sears of Davenport, Fla., P. Wayne Sears of Abbeville, David R. Sears of Coral Springs, Fla., and James H. Sears Jr. of Meansville, Ga.; three sisters, Florence Walker of Bradley, Mae Young of Greenwood and Celeste Royal of Aiken; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

AIKEN June Smith Summerall, 61, wife of Henry Summerall Jr., passed away Dec. 23, 2000.
Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of Dr. Samuel Meyer and Ann Wilkerson Smith. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Henry Mark Summerall of Aiken; a daughter, Anne Margaret Summerall Poplin of Aiken; two sisters, Jeannie Mitchell of Greenwood and Linda Holt of Ashburn, Va.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church, Graniteville, with burial in Bethany Cemetery.

MOUNTVILLE Freddie Lee Young, 64, of 2763 Lisbon Road, passed away Dec. 25, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Pacolet, she was a daughter of the late Fred Lee and Bonnie Mary Lee Mathis Mathis. She was assistant manager of City Financial in Greenwood and a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Ramona) Welsh and Nancy Parker, both of Mountville; three brothers, Lyman Mathis of Hickory Tavern, Don Mathis of Bishopville and Dennis Mathis of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Monnie Jacks and Gail Queen, both of Mountville and Pauline Reynolds of Gaffney; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Phil Bryson.
Visitation is in the fellowship hall of the church after the services.
