Thomas A. Sherard Sr.
ANDERSON — Thomas Alexander Sherard Sr., 80, of 1014 Calhoun Drive, husband of Olivia Henderson Sherard, died Oct. 14, 2000, at National Health Care of Anderson.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Wade Hampton and Lillian Chiles Sullivan Sherard. He was World War II Army veteran, a member of Central Presbyterian Church, and a retired employee of Sullivan Hardware Co. He attended The Citadel and graduated from Erskine College.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Thomas Alexander Sherard Jr. of Huntersville, N.C., and George Henderson Sherard of Jefferson, Md.; a daughter, Pamela Sherard Steifle of Greenwood; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in New Silver Brook Cemetery, conducted by Dr. David J. Bailey.
Visitation is from 7-8 tonight at Sullivan-King Mortuary.
The family is at the home.

DUE WEST — Agnes Jordan Smith, 84, of Carlisle Nursing Center, died Oct. 16, 2000, at the nursing center.

GREENWOOD — Services for Betty Lee Williams, of 120 Williams St., will be at 2 Tuesday at Pine Pleasant Baptist Church, conducted by Elder Ronnie Parkman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1.
Pallbearers are Walter Young, Mike Gladney, Melvin Lagrone, Bruce Goodwin, Anthony Speaks and Barry Chappell.

Bess Garvin
GREENWOOD — Bessie Mae “Bess” Garvin, 93, of 204 Woodhaven Court, died July 16, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
Born in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late L.B. and Lucy V. Lane Garvin. She graduated from Edisto Academy High School and attended Lander College. She retired as a food service consultant and coordinator for S.H. Kress Co. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Etrulia G. Corley of Greenwood and Sara Garvin of Winter Park, Fla.; and a brother, L.B. Garvin of Spartanburg.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ken Timmerman. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg.
Visitation is from 6-8 Wednesday at Blyth Funeral Home.

HODGES — Sara Victoria Koski, 17 months, of 3925 Highway 25 North, daughter of Michelle Koski, died July 16, 2000, at Self Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Greenwood.
Survivors include her mother of the home; maternal grandparents, Connie Doby of Charlotte and Louis Koski of Daytona Beach, Fla.; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brady of Greenwood and Deloris Koski of Daytona Beach.
Graveside services will be at 1 Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Betsy Ann Lanford
WOODRUFF — Betsy Ann Lanford, of 431 Kelly Road, died July 14, 2000, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Eli J. and Hazel Peace Lanford. She retired from Kemet Corp., Simpsonville.
Survivors include four brothers, Fred Peace of Duncan, Bill Lanford and Kenneth Lanford, both of Woodruff and Jeff Lanford of Greenwood; and two sisters, Frances Peace Beason of Duncan and June L. Osborne of Woodruff.
Services were Sunday at Cedar Hill Funeral Home, with burial in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.

CALHOUN FALLS — Jule Lewis, 74, of 126 Seneca Circle, husband of Annie Ruth Mack Lewis, died July 17, 2000, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Calhoun Falls, he was a son of the late Will and Addie Lee Woody Lewis. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church of Calhoun Falls, a World War II Army veteran and a retiree of Rocky River Textile Plant.
Survivors include his wife of the home; five daughters, Patricia Lewis of the home, Mrs. Gloria L. Baylor, Mrs. Shirley Lee, Mrs. Debra Thomas and Michelle Lewis, all of Calhoun Falls; five sons, Jule Albert Lewis of Philadelphia, the Rev. James Richard Lewis, Ronnie Lewis and John Anthony Lewis, all of Calhoun Falls and Robert Lewis of Abbeville; five sisters, Mrs. Lutie Tennant and Mrs. Eva Elmore, both of Abbeville, Mrs. Johnnie Jones and Mrs. Ruby Jones, both of Detroit and Mrs. Ezel Murray of Calhoun Falls; three brothers, William Lewis of Buffalo, N.Y., Tom Lewis of Abbeville and Jack Lewis of Norcross, Ga.; 19 grandchildren, one reared in the home, Shahid Belcher; and six great-grandchildren.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Services for Roosevelt Lyons, of 1910 Neptune Drive, will be at 1 Wednesday at Abbeville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Abbeville, S.C., officiated by Anthony Davis, C.W. Greene and Ray Garrison. Burial will be in Harbison Cemetery. The body will be placed in the hall at noon.

Theron Earl Marlow
ANDERSON — Theron Earl Marlow, 69, of 117 Avondale Road, formerly of Greenwood, husband of Christine Merritt Marlow, died July 17, 2000, at his home.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Lewis D. and Grace Parr Marlow. He was a retired supervisor with Foundry and Steel and a member of Homeland Park Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and a former deacon.
Survivors include his wife of the home; six daughters, Pamela Whitman, Hope Teague, Teresa Whitfield, Kathy Isbell and Stacy Hammett, all of Anderson and Karen Self of Atlanta; a brother, Alvin Dexter Marlow of Taylors; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Homeland Park Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Brad Ellington, Wayne Dickard and U.C. Neill. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation is from 7-9 tonight at McDougald Funeral Home.

SALUDA — J.C. Mason, 78, of Route 6, Box 366-D, died July 14, 2000.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late George and Bernice Kenney Mason. He was a member of Mine Creek Baptist Church, where he was a member of the deacon board and senior choir and served as treasurer. He was a member of Wide Awake Masonic Lodge 252 and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include a brother, George K. Mason of Saluda; and a sister, Corine Etheredge of Washington , D.C.
Services will be at 2 Thursday at Mine Creek Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. George Key. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers and flower bearers are nephews and nieces.
Honorary pallbearers are deacons.
