DARLINGTON — Funeral services for Louise Thomas Lucky, 60, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Burial will be in Centerville A.M.E. Church Cemetery, directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lucky died Sunday, Aug. 25. She was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Robert and Thelma Randolph Thomas. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and was educated in the public schools of Darlington County.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph T. Lucky of Darlington; her children, Mary Ann Peebles, Martha (Coleman) McNeil, Ervin Lucky, Daniel Lucky and Leslie Nicole Lucky, all of Darlington, Barbara (Stanley) Redrick of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Shirley Coleman of Florence; a sister, Patricia “Julia” Antrum of Maryland; 20 grandchildren, two great–grandchildren; two sisters–in–law, Reatha Mae Lucky and Josephine Lucky; nieces and nephews.
ADDIE MAE LAMBERT
DARLINGTON — Graveside services for Addie Mae Flowers Lambert, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Grove Hill Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Allen Lynch and directed by Kistler–Hardee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lambert died Wednesday, Aug. 28, in a Florence hospital after an illness. She was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Alma Iseman Flowers. She was married to the late Harry L. Lambert. Mrs. Lambert was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church and was employed at Dixie Cup for more than 25 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Ann (Charlie) Hunt of Darlington; three sons, Richard (Yvonne) Lambert, Toby Lambert and Harry Lambert, all of Darlington; one brother, Bill Flowers of Effingham, six grandchildren, Robin Hodge, Teresa Lee, Richie Lambert, Melissa Cole, Lindy Cole, and Parrish Lambert, and six great–grandchildren.
WILLIAM D. GLENN
Funeral services for William Daniel Glenn, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Rivers of Living Water Church with pastor Thomas O. Gainey officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery, directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Mr. Glenn died Wednesday, Aug. 28. He was born in Chicago, Ill., a son of the late George and Flora Ammeda Shaw Glenn. He was a graduate of Lindblom High Schools and was an Army veteran. He was a member of Centerville Mens Club and Youth Club and the Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Nora Frazier Glenn of Hartsville; seven daughters, Constance (Stevens) Dean and Shelia Glenn, both of Chicago, Ill., Maxine (Robert) John of Minnesota, Stephanie (Chavoney) Vaughn of Nashville, Tenn., Leslie (Welbona) Garnett of Riverdale, Ill., Shelia Wardell of Robbins, Ill. and Deloris (Egypt) Dolford of Hartsville; grandchildren and great–grandchildren.
EMMA JEAN POINTER
BENA, Va. — Graveside services for Emma Jean Daniel Pointer, 95, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Gloucester Point Cemetery.
Mrs. Pointer, daughter the late Dr. and Mrs. J.C. Daniel, died Aug. 5 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, Va. She was a native of Darlington, a graduate of Winthrop College and the College of William and Mary. Mrs. Pointer taught for more than 35 years in South Carolina, North Carolina, Gloucester and Virginia Beach. She was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church and a lover of classical music, poetry and nature.
Mrs. Pointer, widow of J. E. Pointer Sr., is survived by a daughter, Marian P. Clements and husband, W. F. “Bucky” Clements; step–son, J. Edgar Pointer Jr. and wife, Joanne; two grandsons, Daniel Meade Porter and James Bradley Porter; two step–grandsons,
Dr. James E. Pointer III and wife, Leslie, Steven D. Pointer and wife, Peggy; and two great–grandchildren, Justin and Andrea Pointer.

DARLINGTON — Funeral services for Fred White Sr., 75, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at New Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. K. C. Brown, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Bacote Cemetery, directed by Mitchell–Josey Funeral Home.
Mr. White better known as “Rooster”, died Monday, Aug. 26, in a Florence hospital after an illness. He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Alex and Lula Joshua White. He received his formal education in the Darlington County public schools. He was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. He was a life–long farmer and was employed with Clanton Auto Sales for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice Williams White of the home; six daughters, Rosa Lee (John) Pierce of High Pointe, N.C.Thelma White of Florence, Patricia Ann (Thomas) Felder, Geneva White, Rosetta White, Carolyn White, all of Darlington; a son, Fred White Jr. of Darlington; a sister, Dr. Evangelist Ella Mae Parker of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren, Sheneka White, Keith Singletary, Melissa Felder, Thomas Felder Jr., all of Darlington, Alicia (Phillip) Matthews, Watesha (Rapheal) Wrenn, John Pierce Jr. (Stacy) and Winstenna Pierce, all of Highpoint, N.C.; great–grandchildren, Juwan, Kiarra and Jasmine.

Funeral services for John A. Gainey, 45, were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Pine Ridge Church of God of Prophecy. The Revs. Marvin Griggs and Howard Collins officiated with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Gainey died Wednesday, Aug. 28. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late John Dawson and Etta Freeman Gainey. Surviving are his sons, John-John Gainey, Travis Gainey; daughter, Patricia Rhinehart; step-son, Phillip Bell; mother, of Hartsville; sisters, Gloria Brunson, Wanda Stallons, Sandra Kelley; brothers, Larry Gainey, Donnie Gainey, Jimmy Gainey, Grady Gainey; half-brother, Dustin Gainey; 8 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Bobby Gainey and Ronnie Gainey, preceded him in death.

Mr. Outlaw died Saturday, Aug. 31. Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late Irby and Sallie Pate Outlaw.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Arrants Outlaw of Bishopville; sons, Robert Outlaw of Bishopville, Richard Outlaw of Kannapolis, N.C.; daughter, Ann Morrow of Kannapolis, N.C.; sisters, Carolyn Davis of Bishopville, Jeanette Hall and Adonia McClain, both of Cassatt; three grandchildren.

Mr. Smith died Friday, Aug. 30. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Mendel and Ruby Mae Skipper Smith. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Smith of Hartsville, sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Thomas Gainey of Society Hill; cousin, Jerry (Bobby) Pack of Alcolu.
