ROBERT L. WATFORD
LAMAR – Funeral services for Robert (Bobby) L. Watford, 71, will be held at 4 p.m. today, Feb. 27, 2002, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home, Lamar, with interment following in Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Watford died Monday, Feb. 25, in a Florence hospital. He was born in Florence County, a son of the late Gary and Mamie Lee Truett Watford. He was retired from Williams Furniture Company in Sumter and was a farmer. He enjoyed fishing and Atlanta Braves baseball. He was Baptist by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel Hudson Watford of Lamar; four sons, Robert Dale Watford, Charlie Watford, both of Lamar, Gary "Bimbo" (Audrey) Watford of Timmonsville, and Mike (Lisa) Watford of Charleston; one daughter, Ruth (Keith) Robinson of Lamar; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip Watford of Hartsville; two sisters, Mamie Lucas of Lancaster and Jean Lopez of Tampa, Fla.

DARLINGTON – Funeral services for Kathryn Garrison Lyles, 78, will be held today, Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at 2 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church with interment following in Grove Hill Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lyles died Sunday, Feb. 24, in Medford Place. She was born in Aynor, daughter of the late Rev. Edward King and Clelia Bannister Garrison. She was a graduate of Columbia College. She was a case worker for Darlington County Department of Social Services where she served as interim director. Mrs. Lyles was former manager of Wilson Nursing Home and was associated with Mrs. Cook's Kindergarten. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught the kindergarten class for 33 years and served as past president of the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Phillips Sunday School Class, the Ethel Williamson Circle and a member of the choir, being recognized for her beautiful voice.
Surviving are her husband, Oby Boyce Lyles of Darlington; one son and daughter-in-law, Oby Garri-son and Debbie Lyles of Greenville; two daughters and son-in-law, Kathryn Elizabeth and Ray Young of Cheraw and Margaret Clelia Lyles of Darlington; four grandsons, Walter Young, Matthew Young, Justin Young and Garrison Lyles; one sister, Mrs. Clelia (Charles) Garrison Hand of Canton, N.C., and one brother-in-law, Carrol Hendrix of Dillon.

Mr. Melvin Mayshack of Hartsville died Sunday, Feb. 24, after an illness. Funeral services will be announced by Young & Young Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the home of his brother, Luther Mayshack, 1712 Blanding Dr., Hartsville.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Mrs. Elease Moses Ham, formerly of Hartsville, died Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after an illness. PAGELAND – Mrs. Cassie Sylvia Brewer, formerly of Hartsville, died Sunday in the Union County Regional Medical Center in Monroe, N.C., after an illness. The family will receive friends at the old home place at Rte. 1, Box 225 in Pageland, with Hines Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
NONA MAE PARKER
Funeral services for Nona Mae Wallace Parker, 72, were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Kenny Lynch officiated with burial in Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker, widow of Robert F. "Wishie" Parker, died Friday, Feb. 22. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Morty and Annie Bradshaw Wallace. She was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Perry and Mary Parker of Hartsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Parker and Jack Humphries of Florence, Norma Parker and Randy Turner of Hartsville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Joe Alfred Thompkins, 66, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at Magnolia Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompkins died Saturday, Feb. 23. He was born in Horry County, a son of the late John and Effie Shackleford Thompkins. He was a retired truck driver.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Thompkins of Hartsville; sons, Billy Joe and Sidney Alfred Thompkins of Conway; daughter, Melissa Joan Miller of Darlington; step-son, Jeff Kissiah of Hartsville; brothers, J.D. and Eugene Thompkins of Conway; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Joseph E. (Jody) Heath, 51, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 27, 2002, at Darlington Memory Gardens, directed by Norton Funeral Home with the Rev. Scarlett Tanner officiating.
Mr. Heath was born in Darlington County, a son of Christine Lloyd Munn and the late R.A. Heath.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, James and Christine Munn of Hartsville; daughter, Jody Amerson of Hartsville; brother, John R. Heath of Hartsville; sisters, Ethel Pelt and Sarah Brown, both of Hartsville, and Crystal Walker of Timmonsville; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Hemingway died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002. She was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Jessie and Dessie Windham Spires.
Surviving are her husband, Jack E. Hemingway of Hartsville; three daughters, Terry L. Williams of Glendora, Calif., Sherry L. Kollar of Sarasota, Fla., and Cheryl L. Hemingway of Palm Springs, Calif.; two sisters, Evelyn Tolbert and Lynn Newsome, both of Hartsville; a brother, Heyward Spires of Sumter; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Christine Hendrix Turnage, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Richard Bailey will officiate and Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is in charge. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turnage, widow of Horace Turnage, died Wednes-day, Feb. 20, 2002. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Mary Flake Hogge Hendrix. She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Belinda Turnage of Laurin-burg, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Cleva and Gregg Lawson of Hartsville; sister, Jessie Crowley of Florence; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
