COLUMBIA — Margie Osborne Dorn, 76, of 5217 Circle Dr., Columbia, S.C., widow of John E. Dorn Sr., died April 22, 2005, in Columbia, S.C.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 26, 2005 in Overbrook Cemetery, McCormick, S.C., with Doug Kauffman officiating.
She was born September 23, 1928 in Shelby, N.C. to the late Carl and Nellie Freeman OsBorne. She had retired with Palmetto Federal Bank, and was a member of First Baptist Church of McCormick. She made her home in McCormick, S.C. until 1995, since then with her daughter, Susan D. Sims, of Columbia, S.C.
Surviving are son, John E. Dorn Jr., Columbia, S.C.; daughter, Susan D. Sims, Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Kevin Walton, Amy D. Johnson; great-grandchild, Savannah Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 P.M. Monday at Strom Funeral Home, Hwy. 378, McCormick, S.C.
Dorothy Hendon Daniel
CAMDEN — Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Hendon Daniel, 79, of Camden, formerly of Hopkins, SC will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend H. Laverne Hancock, officiating and interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home for the arrangements.
Mrs. Daniel died Saturday, April 23, 2005. Born in Alabama she was the daughter of the late James Whit Hendon and Annie Mae East Hendon. She was a member of Mt. Elon Baptist Church in Hopkins, SC and was also a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Daniel was predeceased by two sons, James R. and Robert D. Daniel; and two sisters, Pat Gunn and Sara Bankhead.
Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, James S. Daniel; a daughter, Myra D. Morgan and her husband H.T. of Elgin, SC; brothers, Hugh Hendon and his wife Martha of Roswell, GA, George Hendon and his wife Jessie of Chattanooga, TN, and William L. Hendon of Belvedere, SC; 3 grandchildren, James Michael Daniel and his wife Marti of Murphy, Texas , H. Thomas Morgan, Jr. and his wife Angie of Lugoff, SC, and Jami Danielle Morgan Paquette and her husband Christian of Elgin, SC and 3 great grandchildren, Claire Daniel, Abigail Morgan, and Alexander Paquette.
Kenneth E. Hendrix
LEXINGTON — Services for Kenneth E. Hendrix, 87, will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 4:00 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, April 25, 2005 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1130 St. Peter’s Church Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
Mr. Hendrix died Saturday, April 23, 2005. Born in Lexington, SC, he was the husband of the late Nancy Smith Hendrix and the son of the late Wilbur B. and Vera Sease Hendrix. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his sons, Gerald E. Hendrix and Robert D. Hendrix and daughter, Brenda Elliott all of Lexington; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by a brother, Seth M. Hendrix.
Kenneth Dyches Sr.
HILDA — Kenneth Dyches Sr., 61, died Sunday at his residence.
He was born in Barnwell County and was the son of the late Vonnell and Marjorie Still Dyches. He retired from construction work and was the retired owner of Dyches Auction Co. He was a member of Double Pond Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday at Mole Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Romie Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Double Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday evening at Mole Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife: Elizabeth Jones Dyches of Hilda, SC; sons, Kenneth Dyches Jr. and Ronnie Dean Dyches of Hilda, SC; daughter in law: Debra Wall Dyches of Hilda, SC; granddaughter: Tiffany LeAnn Dyches of Hilda, SC; brothers: James (Joy) Dyches of Salley, SC, Nelson (Elaine) Dyches of Snelling, SC, Jackie Dyches and Tommy Dyches of Hilda, SC, Donnie Dyches of Blackville, SC; sister: Shirley Stanfield of Aiken, SC.
Mamie Mosley
BETHUNE — Funeral services for Mamie Euree Taylor Mosley, 82, wife of Gettyes Jack Mosley will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 26, 2005 from Abney Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Dr. Todd Morris, Larry Plyler, and Mendel Baker will officiate.
Mrs. Mosley died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at her home. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Annie Jane Mosley Taylor. She was a member of Abney Baptist Church, and a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband of the home, 2 daughters, Peggy Catoe, and her husband Curtis of Lancaster, Joyce Mosley of the home, 4 sons, Thomas Wayne “Tommy” Mosley and his wife Patsy of Fort Lawn, Jack Leon “Jackie” and his wife Wanda of Bethune, Bruce Everett Mosley, and his wife Susan of Rock Hill, and Keith Edward Mosley and his wife Daisy of Bethune; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 2 sisters, Maggie Trimnal of Kershaw and Elsie Catoe of Aiken.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 25, 2005 from 6 to 8 pm at Baker Funeral Home.

Thomas McLaughlin
St. MATTHEWS — Thomas David “Rod” McLaughlin, age 64, of Daytona Beach, Florida died at Halifax Medical Center on April 12, 2005. Mr. McLaughlin was the son of the late J.F. McLaughlin, and Mattie H. McLaughlin. He was employed by Ideal Security Company and was a member of several golfing groups in Daytona Beach.
“Rod” was a member of St. Matthews Presbyterian Church, a graduate of St. Matthews High School, attended Furman University, was a former employee of Pulliam Ford, and former member of Calhoun Country Club and the Orangeburg Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his daughter: Jennifer L. Johnston, three grandchildren: Steven Thomas, Tyler, and Annie; son-in-law: Daniel C. Johnston, III, other relatives, and many friends.
Memorial services will be held at St. Matthews Presbyterian Church on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at 1:30 PM. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
Frederick A. de Roos
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Mr. Frederick A. de Roos, 82, died Friday, April 22, 2005, in Winter Haven, FL of heart failure.
He was born January 31, 1923 in Indonesia to the late Anne de Roos and the late Janua (Visser) de Roos. He moved to Winter Haven in March, 2004 from Cumming, Ga. after previously living in Camden, S.C. for 31 years. He was a retired Chemical Engineer for Dupont with approximately 30 years of service. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, Columbia, S.C., and was an allied veteran of WWII where he was a P.O.W.
Surviving are wife, Arnolda de Roos of Winter Haven, FL; sons, Frans de Roos of Rhinefelden, FL, Ronald de Roos of Winter Haven, FL; daughter, Juanita de Roos of Suwanee, GA; 4 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, on Sunday 4/24/05 at 3 PM.

ELGIN — Funeral services for Mary K. Armstrong Ragan, 73, of Elgin will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 11:00 AM in Blaney Baptist Church, Elgin, SC. Mrs. Ragan died Friday, April 22, 2005. Born in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Cora B. Meyers Armstrong. She had retired from Civil Service at Fort Jackson having worked in Finance and Accounting.
Surviving are her husband, William E. “Bill” Ragan; daughters, Cheryl Ray of Elgin and Rebecca South of Lugoff; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Marshall Armstrong of Gaithersburg, MD.
She was predeceased by sisters, Poline Clark, Anna Scott, Helen Kirby, Edith Poole, Ruth Maugans; brothers, Clarence, John and George Armstrong.
Gladys Tunstall
BRUNSON — Mrs. Gladys Annie Bell Spring Tunstall of Brunson died Sunday morning in the John F. Harter Nursing Center in Fairfax after an extended illness.
Born October 12, 1915 in Florence County, she was the daughter of the late Maxie B. and Lillie Spring. She had worked for a number of years in the garment industry and was a homemaker. She attended the Hampton Church of God of Prophecy and was married to the late Liston J. Tunstall.
She is survived by three grandchildren: Beth Williams, Bob Tunstall and David Tunstall; three great grandchildren: Bryan Williams, Christopher Tunstall and Kristin Tunstall; two sisters: Mary Dease of Effingham and Nellie Wallace of Barnwell and two special friends, Carolyn and Eddie Mew. there are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Robert James Tunstall; two brothers: Robert Spring and Dessie Spring; two sisters: Mable Welch and Hattie Lee Jones.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 AM in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, conducted by Rev. David Deming. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Walterboro, SC.
Friends may call at the chapel Monday morning prior to services.

Ethan Smith
GREER — Ethan Taylor Smith, 8 months, of 122 Oak Springs Drive, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 from liver cancer at Medical University of South Carolina - Charleston.
Ethan was the infant son of Jonathan and Caroline Smith. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Molly and Emily, and his twin brother, Evan, all of the home; his maternal grandparents, Steve and JeanAnn Nigh of Greer, and his paternal grandmother, Nancy Smith of Greenville. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dr. Al Smith.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Greenville Christian Fellowship. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. The family is at the residence.
