LUGOFF — Funeral service for Mr. Kraig L. O’Connor, 44, of Lugoff, will be held 3 o’clock Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at Elgin Congregation Holiness Church. Officiating will be The Reverend Wesley M. Luke. Interment will follow in Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 o’clock until 3 o’clock prior to service at the church. Shives Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. O’Connor died Saturday, February 5, 2005. Born in Enid, Oklahoma, he was a son of Clyde and Betty O’Connor. He was employed by Builders First Source of Columbia.
Survivors include: his wife, Annette O’Connor, his mother, Betty O’Connor of Enid, OK, and his father, Clyde L. O’Connor and his wife Vicki of Layton, Utah; 2 stepdaughters, Brandy Morris and husband Gary of Elgin, April House of Lugoff; stepson, David Coone of Gaston; brother, David O’Connor and wife Lori of Springfield, IL; sisters, Donna O’Connor of Enid, OK, and Elizabeth Davis and husband Terry of Germany; a grandson, Gary Morris, III (Trey); 3 nephews and 3 nieces. Mr. O’Connor was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick O’Connor and grandparents, Mearl and Essie Mongold and Beatrice Tanner of Enid, OK.

Opal Sawyer
LEXINGTON — Graveside services for Opal Kaye Sawyer, 59, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, in Southland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
Mrs. Sawyer died Sunday, February 6, 2005. Born in Columbia, S.C., she was the daughter of Ivan and Alma Duncan. She attended Brookland Cayce High School in 1964 and Iberia’s Beauty College in 1965. She worked at Vogue at Parkland, Saveway Beauty and Barber, and Sally Beauty Supply.
Mrs. Sawyer is survived by her husband, Dan E. Sawyer; daughter, Kelly Sawyer; sons, Danny Ivan Sawyer, David Paige Sawyer; grandchildren, Rachel Sawyer, Anastasia Sawyer, Brooke Sawyer, Celia Sawyer, Brent Sawyer, Preston Sawyer, Grant Sawyer, Miranda Sawyer; sisters, Theda Adams of Irmo, and Naomi Huskins of FL.
Carolyn Dreher
COLUMBIA — Services with burial for Carolyn Shell Dreher, widow of Willie J. Dreher Sr., will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Springs AME Church, Irmo. Visitation is 7-8 tonight at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home. Born in Columbia to Edgar and Arelia Shell, she died February 3, 2005. Surviving are her son, Rev. W.F. Davis Sr.
ORANGEBURG — Welborne Faxon “Webb” Davis Sr., 79, died Sunday morning, February 6, in Regional Medical Center. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, February 10, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Barry L. Jenkins and Rev. Dr. Thomas B. Huggins officiating. Burial in West End Cemetery. Mr. Davis was born July 1, 1925, in Norway, S.C., a son of the late Luther Edgar Davis and Maggie Rowell Davis. He had retired as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon and member of the Good News Sunday School Class. Mr. Davis served as a former Scout Master of Troop #345 Boy Scouts of America. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors: his wife, Mrs. Jewell Robinson Davis of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Wayne Davis (Sheryl), St. Matthews, Welborne F. Davis Jr. (Jean), St. Matthews; daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Greg C. (Shellie) Ackerman, Varnville, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Mrs. William Lamar (Jana) Porter III, Jamison, Robert Benjamin and Mark Edgar Davis, St. Matthews, Amanda Jill and Yuri Nickolas Davis, St. Matthews, Johnathan Carter and Ashleigh Lynn Ackerman, Varnville, S.C.; one great-grandson, William Lamar Porter IV, Jamison. FAIRFAX — Services for McKinley “Ray” Youmans, 65, widower of Hattie Youmans, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Cave Funeral Service is in charge. Born to Lawrence and Virginia Owens Youmans, he died Feb. 6, 2005. Surviving are children, Annie Milledge, Thomas Flowers, Melvin, James Youmans; 1 brother; 5 sisters; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
Daniel Timms Sr.
WINNSBORO — Funeral services for Daniel DeVinney Timms, Sr., 85, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at Union Memorial Presbyterian Church, PCA, conducted by Reverend Rob Korn and Reverend Dan Edwards. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Fairfield County on May 25, 1919, he was the son of the late David Young Timms and Susan Ida McCants Timms. Mr. Timms died Sunday, February 6, 2005. He was a lifetime member of Union Memorial Church, PCA, having served as Deacon, Ruling Elder for 47 years, Clerk of Session for 30 years, Sunday School Superintendent for 25 years and Sunday School teacher for 40 years. He was also the Vice President from Union Memorial for the American Bible Society for 40 years. Mr. Timms was a member of the Pomaria Masonic Lodge Number 151 for more than 50 years and served as a past Worthy Patron. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16. Proudly he served his country on Saipan during World War II in the U.S. Army, (73rd Wing, Twentieth Air Force). He retired from Hobgood Electric Co.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Maude Frick Timms, of the home; two sons, Daniel D. Timms, Jr. (Cathy) and John Rufus Frick Timms (Donna); a daughter, Deborah T. Gantt (Steve); and six grandsons, Daniel D. Timms, III, Martin Timms, Jared Timms, Scotty Timms, Jacob Gantt and Kyle Gantt, all of Winnsboro; brothers, David Y. Timms of Sabine Pass, Texas , and Joe E. Timms of Conway, South Carolina. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas W. Timms.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Memorial PCA Church or a charity of one’s choice.
The family will receive visitors at Pope Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, from 5 until 7 p.m.

Ms. Shealy, 51, died February 6, 2005. Born in Prosperity, she was a daughter of Vones H. (Billy) and Nancy Livingston Shealy. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
Surviving, in addition to her parents of Prosperity, are her canine companion, “Bandit” her sisters, Sue (Calvin) Suber of Prosperity and Rita D. (Tommy) Cumalander of Chapin; nieces, Kay Suber and Haylee and Ashley Dawkins.

HAMPTON — Services with burial for Angelena Rivers, 59, graduate of Voorhees College, will be held at noon Wednesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was a member. Mary Parrish
YORK — Mary Elizabeth Freeman Parrish, 79, of 21 Hillside Ln., York, SC, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC. Born April 11, 1925, in Duncan, SC, to the late Shell M. Freeman and the late Viennie Stone Freeman, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, York, SC, where she taught Kindergarten Sunday School Class for 35 years, sang in the Chancel Choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was previously employed by Trinity United Methodist Church as a secretary.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Herbert N. Parrish of York, SC; children, Jerry A. Parrish of Anderson, SC, Ronald H. Parrish of Hartsville, SC, and Rev. Patricia J. Parrish of Gilbert; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church Parlor on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Funeral services are Wednesday February 9, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in York. Officiating will be Rev. James L. Correll, Jr. and Rev. Paul Ballard. Mr. Oxner died Sunday, February 6, 2005. Born in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Jacob Bennie and Aminee Asbil Oxner. He was the owner and operator of Oxner’s Shell Service station for 25 years, a member of Cedar Grove Lutheran where he was a member of the Senior Adult SS Class and a former Church Councilman and SS Superintendent.
Surviving are sons, Eugene (Ruth) Oxner, Marvin (Ida) Oxner, F.A. Oxner, Leo (Louise) Oxner of Leesville; Nathan (Tiny) Oxner of Lexington; daughter, Janice (Tommie) Price of Leesville; a brother, Voight Oxner of Leesville; grandchildren, Dwayne, Chris, Rodney, Leo Oxner, Jr., Cindi Floyd, Jack (Aleatha) Day, Kandi (Chris) Brown; great-grandchildren, Coty, Dustin, Rocky Floyd, Jr., Nathan Oxner, Jr., Andrew, Alexys, Austan Day, Caden Brown.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Rister Oxner and an infant brother.

Moore of Columbia, SC; daughters, Ashlea Moore, Margie Moore-Williamson and her husband Wes both of Columbia, SC, and Rebecca Anne Moore of Charlotte, NC; one grandson, Thomas Wesley Williamson, III: a sister, Barbara Jean Daniels of Spartanburg, SC; a devoted companion, Brenda Blackston of Pawley’s Island, SC; 2 nieces, Lisa Daniels-Bishop and Lindsey Daniels; 1 nephew, John Bradley Daniels.
