ABBEVILLE — Services for Nikki Ellinas Knox, 75, widow of Edward Knox Jr., are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sharon United Methodist Church, burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. Born to John and Angelina Ellinas, she died Jan. 22, 2005. Surviving: son, John Knox Sr.; brothers, James and Manual Ellinas; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
Cecil Armfield
ALLENDALE — Mr. Cecil M. Armfield, husband of Mrs. Marselle Armfield, died Sunday morning at his residence after an extended illness. He was 78.
Mr. Armfield was born July 10, 1926, the son of the late Wade Armfield and Nettie Mae Armfield. He was a Naval veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, a retired salesman for Monroe Hardware and a member of the Allendale First Baptist Church.
Surviving besides his wife are 2 sons: Jeff Armfield and wife Margaret of Mt. Pleasant and Roger Armfield and wife Pinkie of Sumter; 1 daughter: Marcie Frick and husband Danny of Lexington. There are 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Allendale First Baptist Church with burial following in Gillett Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home. Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home Funeral Home of Allendale is in charge of arrangements.
Marjorie Fewell
BEAUFORT — Services for Marjorie Hill Fewell, 83, widow of Earl Fewell, are 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with burial in Beaufort National Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 tonight at Anderson Funeral Home. Born in Springfield, Mass., to James and Clara Turner Hill, she died Jan. 24, 2005. Surviving: children, Thomas Fewell, Joan Harris; brother, Merlin Hill; 2 granddaughters; 1 great-grandson.
Reginald Garner
HANAHAN — Reginald Robert Garner “Bob” of Hanahan, S.C., husband of Sarah Reeves Garner, died Saturday, January 22, 2005.
Bob was born June 10, 1939 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, son of the late Russell L. and Carol Dean Godshall Garner. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, Hanahan, S.C. Bob retired from civil service and the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson, S.C.
Surviving are his wife of Hanahan; stepdaughter, Candy Adams; brothers, Jerry, Pensacola, Florida, Don, California, Russell, Jr., Boiling Springs, North Carolina, and Russell Gene of Greenville, S.C.
Bob would be pleased to have memorials made to Highland Park Baptist Church in memory of him. A memorial service will be announced by the Medical University of South Carolina at a future date.
Marvin Leonard
SUMTER — Services and burial for Marvin Leonard, 72, 1 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship AME Church, Silver. Williams Funeral Home is in charge. Born in Clarendon Co. to Ferdinand and Ida Leonard, he died Jan. 19, 2005. Surviving: companion, Jean Kennerly; her children, Linda Kennerly, Brenda Knowles; children, Charlotte Lawrence-Blacknall, Dwight, Kurt, Ronald, Roland, Timothy Leonard.
Mary Fowler
UNION — Mrs. Mary Keith Gallman Fowler, age 61, wife of Julian Harold Fowler of 1425 Jonesville-Lockhart Hwy., Union, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005 at 7:45 p.m. in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Pacolet, S.C., on July 12, 1943, a daughter of Kathryn Brown Gallman of Jonesville and the late Keith Gallman. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Cecil’s Business College and was formerly employed as an Executive Secretary with Kohler Company. Mrs. Fowler was a member of the Jonesville United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are two daughters, Pamela Brown and husband Palmer of Gainesville, Florida and Taramaria Fowler of the home; two sons, Dicky Fowler and wife Kaye and Hal Fowler and wife Bridget all of Jonesville; two brothers, Jimmy Wayne Gallman and Mark Gallman both of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Fowler Brown of Gainesville, Florida, Madison Fowler and Bobby Ce Fowler both of Jonesville; her mother-in-law, Gene Brown Fowler of Jonesville and a special caregiver, Lee Jefferies of Jonesville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Jonesville United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Gilmer and Rev. David Clyburn. Burial will be in the Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Shannon Gault, Billy Gregory, Jamie Gallman, Jimmy Gallman, Terry Holmes, Charles Bright, Kevin Keller and Robert Lawson.
The body will be at the home, 1425 Jonesville Lockhart Hwy., Union, where the family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 until 9:00 and will be placed in church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday to await the hour of service.

SCRANTON — Services for Ira Elliott Hyman, 71, are 11 a.m. Thursday at Scranton Baptist Church, burial with military honors in High Hill Cemetery, visitation 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City. Born in Florence Co. to Walter and Elsie Hyman, he died Jan. 24, 2005. Surviving: wife, Doreen S. Hyman; children, Cathy Edmondson, Ira Hyman Jr.; sisters, LaVonne Prosser, Rita Lee; grandchildren.
Ethel Shuler
HOLLY HILL — Mrs. Ethel Price Shuler, 97, died Sunday, January 23, 2005 in The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Avinger Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Rorabaugh and Rev. Barry Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Southern Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Rhame, Watson Williams, Larry Gardner, Rod Shuler, Jamie Sweatman, Gary Wolpert, Harold “Bubba” McLeod, and Paul Wolpert.
Mrs. Shuler was born in Colleton County, a daughter of the late James Price and Susan Varnado Price. She was a member of Bethlehem Southern Methodist Church. She was first married to the late Bishop T. Faulling and was the widow of Raymond B. Shuler. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie F. Sweatman and son, Bishop Thomas Faulling, grandsons, Butch and Al Sweatman, and great-grandson, Travis Sweatman.
Surviving are sons Charles R. (Barbara) Shuler of Orangeburg and Ronald D. (Jenneane) Shuler of St. Matthews; grandchildren, Judy Scott, Susan French, Patricia Wolpert, Rosemary Fowler, John Faulling, Patsy Barnett, Rod Shuler, Robin Johnson, Christy Davis, Thomas Dempsey, Charles Dempsey, Shirley Shuler, and Joey Green; 13 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Mary Whetstone.
The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born in Hartsville to Tollie and Pearl Warren, he died Jan. 23, 2005. Surviving: wife, Pauline M. Lula Casey
NORTH AUGUSTA — Funeral services for Mrs. Lula T. Casey, 79, of Arrowwood Drive, North Augusta, SC, who died January 23, 2005, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry T. Matthews officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Casey was a native of Spartanburg, SC, having made North Augusta her home for the past 55 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, the Faithful Sunday School Class and the Sheffield Club. Mrs. Casey was an avid bridge player and wife of the late Mr. Charles O’Neal Casey.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Linda Casey, Sr., North Augusta; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeannene and Andy Lamm, Blythewood, SC; four grandchildren, John C. and Gina Casey, Jr., Jillian Casey, Drew Lamm and Rose Lamm; a great-grandson, Ethan O’Neal Casey; a brother, William Terrell, San Diego, CA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 11 until the hour of the service.

Pearl Adams
WHITE ROCK — Pearl Martin Adams, age 99, formerly of Conway and Columbia, died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the Lowman Home in White Rock.
Ms. Adams was born October 25, 1905 in Marshall, NC, a daughter of the late Jake Asbury and Mary Plemmons Martin. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Conway and Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. Ms. Adams retired from Colonial Iron Works in Columbia.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce A. Johnson and her husband, Emory of Tampa, FL and Bobbie A. Thorne of Elgin, SC, three grandchildren, Lynette Farnsworth of Columbia, Philip Johnson of St. Petersburg, FL and Cheryl Henderson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, three great-grandchildren, Kira Henderson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Tonia Wingard and Ronnie Haywood both of Columbia, two great-great-grandchildren, Riley Haywood and Henry Haywood.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with the Rev. Robbie Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM Wednesday before the service.
