Bessie Truesdale
COLUMBIA — Service for Bessie Capilos Truesdale, 81, will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with burial in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday at 5 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with Trisagion Prayers at 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Building Fund, 1931 Sumter St., Columbia, SC 29201.
Mrs. Truesdale died Friday, January 7, 2005. Born in Charlotte, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Demosthenes Capilos and Barbara Harakas Capilos. Mrs. Truesdale retired from the University of South Carolina after eighteen years as box office manager of the Carolina Coliseum. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and St. Katherine’s Philoptochos Society.
Mrs. Truesdale was a loving mother, Yia Yia, sister and friend. May her memory be eternal.
Surviving are her husband of fifty-nine years, Philip A. Truesdale; sons and daughters-in-law, Philip D. and Valerie Truesdale of Columbia and John C. and Theodora Truesdale of Greenville; sisters, Marina Papadea and Tracy Cardone of Columbia; brother, John Capilos of Columbia; and grandchildren, Melanie McMinn, Stephen Truesdale, Anne Truesdale and David Truesdale. She was predeceased by brothers, Gus Capilos and Bill Capilos and a sister, Polly Retzky.

ROCK HILL — A memorial service for Mary Augusta Zander, 83, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Lutheran Chapel Church, Gastonia, where she was a member. Burial will be private. Greene Funeral Home, NW Chapel, is in charge. Born in Akron, Ohio, to Otto and Bertha Widmever Zander, she died January 6, 2005. Surviving are nephew, Bruce Zander; great nephews, Scott and Dennis Zander; other relatives.
Dayle Kiser
CAMDEN — Memorial services for Evelyn Dayle Kiser, 68, of Camden, will be held Monday, January 10, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Rev. Gary White will officiate. Mrs. Kiser died Thursday, January 6, 2005. Born in Kannapolis, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas N. and Almeta Peele Aderhold. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, James A. Kiser; 3 sons, Scot and Whitney of Annapolis, MD, Erik of Centerville, VA; sister, Barbara Gwyn of Pineville, NC; brother, Thomas N. Aderhold, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; 4 grandchildren, Aaron and McKinley Kiser, Christopher and Michael Wilkerson.

SOCIETY HILL — A graveside service for Helen Freeman Rivers, 62, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Society Hill Latter-Day Saints Cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Born in Darlington Co. to Everette Freeman and Ruby Wallace Edwards, she died Jan. 7, 2005. Mr. Baker, 71, died January 7, 2005. Born in Rock Bridge, IL, he was a son of the late John C. and Mabel Cecil Goodall Baker. He was a retired truck driver, a member of the American Legion, a mason, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife , Betty Koon Baker, sons; Randal D. Baker of West Columbia, Wesley L. Baker of Ridgeway; sisters, Nadine Combs and Bertha Dean both of Carollton, IL; brothers, Hal D. Baker of Jacksonville, IL, and Francis Gene Baker of Carollton, IL, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; he was predeceased by two sisters, a brother, and a grandchild.

Mr. McGee, a native of Edgefield County, died Thursday, January 6, 2005. He was a son of the late Lewis F. and Leila Rhoden McGee, was a retired farmer and a member of Philippi Baptist Church.

Gunter (Legare), Cayce; son: Charles Marshall McGee (Beverly), Johnston; grandchildren: Pam Steele, Jan Rinehart, Jenny Yarborough, Tracy Sanford, Dr. Ashley Charles McGee, Angela Fallaw and Alison McGee and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McGee and by a son, Herman L. McGee.
