Melvin Mingo
Funeral services for Melvin Mingo, 71, of 175 Biscayne Drive, Branchville, formerly of Ehrhardt, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Rizer Chapel United Methodist Church in Ehrhardt. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Mingo died Sunday, June 29, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
He was born October 2, 1936, to the late Bertha Mingo. Melvin joined the Rizer Chapel United Methodist Church at a young age. He loved hunting, fishing, and cooking among other things. In 1961, he was joined in holy wedlock to Madge V. Green and to this union, seven children were born.
Survivors include his wife, Madge V. Mingo of the home; children, Melvin (Davina) Mingo Jr., Joe Nathan (Ella) Mingo, all of Ehrhardt, John (Lavette) Mingo and Vernice (Stevie) Wilson, all of Bamberg, David (Elizabeth) Mingo of Branchville, Bernice (James) Moore of Brooklyn, N.Y., Brenda Green of Padgetts; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The Carroll Mortuary of Bamberg is in charge of the services.
Corey Direll Fogle
Funeral services for Corey Direll Fogle, 25, of 526 Stilton Road, Orangeburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Antioch Baptist Church, Bowman, with the Rev. Willie Bates Jr. and the Rev. Dr. Albert Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Providence, S.C.
The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
He died June 30, 2008, at Palmetto Health Hospital.
He was born October 11, 1982, in Orangeburg. He was a graduate of Bowman High School. While attending high school Corey participated in basketball and football. He was employed at Husqvarna Products (formerly American Yard Products-AYP). Corey was loved and respected by many people because of his willingness to do whatever was asked of him. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Betty Jean (Naim) Hameen of the home; sisters, Angela Fogle, Crystal Green and Shanda Latrice Simmons; brothers, Warren Senntell Fogle, Desmond Jamar Simmons and Malcolm Gerrod Simmons; aunts and uncles, Catherine Johnson, Ella Mae (Thomas) Dowling, Jessie Mae Fogle, Elease (Henry) Simmons, Mary Frances Fogle, JoAnn Owens, Earnestine (Kenneth) Gaines, Laura Fogle, Beulah S. Mack, Sampson (Barbara) Fogle, John Henry (Elouise) Fogle, Audrey Fogle, Leroy Fogle, Hercules (Carolyn) Simmons, Deon Clark, and Larry (Ann) Starks; three special nephews, Jamarey, LaMack and DeVeon; 12 great aunts and uncles; 15 nieces and nephews; special cousim, Shirley Fogle, Octavia Simmons and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.

Joseph E. Glover, 96, of 1812 Shaperson St., died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Tyrone Fields, 37, of Orangeburg, died Monday, March 10, 2008, in Columbia.

Edward Lee 'ED' Anderson
Funeral services for Edward Lee "ED" Anderson, 62, of 1269 Morris St., Orangeburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, in the Glover's Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with Minister Cynthia K. Mack officiating. Burial will be in the Belleville Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.
Mr. Anderson died Friday, March 7, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born May 31, 1945, in Summerville, a son of the late Annie Baxter and the adopted son of the late Robert and Martha Anderson. He received his formal education in the public schools of Bowman. He was united in holy matrimony to Evelyn Anderson and to this union, they were blessed with three children.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, the late Lewis Dempsey and the late Albert Baxter.
He leaves to mourn, his wife of 40 years, Evelyn Anderson of the home; two sons, Collins Jackson (Jennifer) of Orangeburg and Charles Jackson (Sharon) of Columbia; one daughter, Charlene Harrison (Greg) of Orangeburg; one goddaughter, Sue Ellen Johnson; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Williams of New York and Leon Baxter of Georgia; three sisters, Jeannette Williams and Barbara Jones, both of Upper Marlboro, Md., Helen Baxter of Georgia; one aunt, Eartha (Leroy) Daniels of Summerville; one uncle, Herbert (Edna) Baxter of Summerville; a very special cousin, Corrine Hodges of Orangeburg and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John Terry 'Drag' Stewart
Funeral services for John Terry "Drag" Stewart, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, in the Felderville AME Church in Santee, with the Rev. Morton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Stewart died Saturday, March 8.

Deacon John Wesley Teddy Dowling Sr.
Deacon John Wesley "Teddy" Dowling Sr., 61, of 41 Pine St., Blackville, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Mattie C. Hall after an extended illness.

Mrs. Lynne Whitten-Jones, 46, of 426 Haband Lane, Cross, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at her residence.

Frank J. Inabinet
Funeral services for Frank J. Inabinet, 72, of 250 Bill Salley Road, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, in the Mount Olive Baptist Church, with the Rev. Samuel Palmer and the Rev. Isaiah Phinisee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
Mr. Inabinet died Tuesday, March 4, at MUSC in Charleston.
Frank June Inabinet was born September 4, 1935, in Orangeburg, and reared in the home of Alice and Julius Inabinet. His early school days were spent at Snake Swamp School and Wilkinson High School. After his school, Frank entered the U.S. Air Force and married his high school sweetheart, Rosalee Brown (also known as Rose Marie Aiken). To this union, four daughters were born, Alice Rose, Andrea Denise, Penney Elaine, and Tanya Marie Inabinet. Alice Rose preceded her father in death. Frank traveled the world, Vietnam, Korea, Alaska, Japan, but came back to Orangeburg when he retired from the Air Force of 22 years of service. He was a life member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and a member of Leake Temple AME Zion in Anchorage, Alaska, also a life member of Post 8166, past commander and the MOCA.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 50 years; three daughters; four granddaughters; three grandsons; and two great-grands; a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
