Marvin Davis, 47, of 216 Faglier Circle, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.

Emma Elizabeth ’Toots’ Rourk Yancey, ST. MATTHEWS
Graveside services for Emma Elizabeth “Toots” Rourk Yancey, 80, of St. Matthews, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, in Jerusalem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Old Number Six Highway, Elloree.
Mrs. Yancey died Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Calhoun Convalescent Center, St. Matthews, after an illness.
She was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Bunnie Lee Rourk and the late Emma Delle Strock Pridgen. She was a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church. She was a retired seamstress and painter. She was married to the late Solomon Yancey.
Survivors include one son, Bunnie Solomon Yancey and wife, Gloria; one daughter, Kim Elizabeth Spires and husband, Mackey, all of St. Matthews; one sister, Minnie Lee Griffin of Santee; three grandchildren, Penny (Dave) Bennett, Christopher Yancey and Mariska (Chad) Odum; and four great-grandchildren, Justin Yancey, Rebel (Nikki) Bennett, Courtney Odum and Samantha Odum.
Visitation will from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.

Ms. Odessa Boyd-Banks, 17, of 3821 State Road, Ridgeville, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, as a result of an automobile accident.

Mrs. Frances Floyd O'Cain, 76, of 1079 Bethel Forest Road, Orangeburg, died Friday morning, May 16, 2008, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, May 19, at the Grace Baptist Church on Columbia Road, with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Darrell Wilkins and assisted by William Strong, directed by Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Orangeburg.
The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
Survivors include her husband, Marion L. O'Cain of Orangeburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Mack Crosby of Cordova and Dana A. and Chris Gillis of Puyallup, Washington; son, Julian M. (Pikey) Smoak Jr. of Cordova; two grandsons, Chad Crosby of Cordova and Robert Gillis of Puyallup, Washington; four granddaughters, Rachel Crosby of Cordova, Melissa Smoak Atchason of Florida, Christine Smoak Barb of Georgia and Rebecca Lynn Smoak of California; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Miriam M. Knight Blume, 86, of 4700 Brossy Circle No. 83, North Charleston, widow of Lee D. Blume, died Friday, May 16, 2008 at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the Reverend Philip Bostrom officiating. Burial will follow in the Harleyville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Teddy Jeffords, Troy Huff, John Moorer, Tommy Chubb, Ronnie Rudd and Carl McDonnell.
Miriam was born on December 5, 1921, in Harleyville a daughter of the late Augustus Errett Murray and Annie Carn Murray. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harleyville and was a waitress at Colony House, Morrison's Cafeteria and the Francis Marion Hotel. She was first married to Woodrow Wilson Knight Sr. and was predeceased by her daughter, Mildred Grace Knight and siblings; John Wesley Murray, Mildred M. Causey, Carolyn M. Harley and Ruth Moorer Metts.
Surviving is a son, Woodrow Wilson "Woody" (Lorraine) Knight Jr., Harleyville; two daughters, Betty K. (Aaron) Rudd, Cordova and Sheryl K. Plowden, Charleston; grandchildren, Julie (Jody) Eargle, Kelly (Mark) Muckenfuss, both of Harleyville, Annette (Tommy) Chubb, Dorchester, Ronnie (Kathie) Rudd, Lexington, Patricia (Troy) Huff, Orangeburg, Seth Plowden and Spencer Plowden, Charleston; and great-grandchildren, Chelsea Eargle, Jordyn Eargle, MaHalie Muckenfuss, Rylee Chubb, Jennifer Rudd, Ashley Huff and Curtis Huff.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday evening at Bryant Funeral Home, 607 N. Parler Ave., St. George, at other times Julie Eargle's 120 John St., Harleyville.

Vernon Lee Zeigler
Vernon Lee Zeigler, 88, of Cope, and a member of the Cope Baptist Church died Thursday, June 19, 2008.
No services or memorials were held as to the request by pre-aarangements by Mr. Zeigler.
Mr. Zeigler was a Navy veteran and served aboard the USS Tennessee in the Hawaian Islands at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Z. White of Powell, Tenn.; grandson, Adam White and wife, Miranda; three grandchildren, Maleia, Maddie and Christian White of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Rosemary Heslep of Orangeburg.

Funeral services for Baby Boy Anthony DaJohn Porter, 19 months, of 82 Ott Street, Bamberg, will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Chapel of the Carroll Mortuary of Bamberg. Burial will follow in the Old Capernaum Cemetery.
Baby Boy Porter died Monday, July 7, at Roper Hospital in Charleston.
He was born December 1, 2006 in Charleston, a son of Anthony Porter and Rosalyn Johnson.
Survivors include his parents of Bamberg; grandparents, Reese and Dorothy Singleton, Ronald Meeks, Deborah Porter and James Richburg; brothers and sisters, Dontrellia Singleton, Eric L. Johnson, Siobhan Porter, Deszmen Porter, all of Bamberg.
