Larry Connor Jeffcoat
Larry Connor Jeffcoat, 48, of Sumter, died Friday, April 25, 2008, at Tuomey Healthcare System.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mitch Towery officiating.
Born in Charleston, he was the son of George C. Jeffcoat and the late Mary Grant Jeffcoat.
Mr. Jeffcoat attended schools in Sumter and graduated from Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood with an Associate Degree in construction management with 4.0 honors. He also was a Master Gardener and loved working with the Sumter County Museum Backcountry.
Surviving are his father and wife, Laura D. Jeffcoat of Newberry; one sister, Ellen Myer and husband John of Charleston.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

Mary Louise Sullins
Mary Louise Sullins, 81, of 1000 Live Oak Drive, Orangeburg, died Wednesday morning, December 3, 2008, at The Oaks.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 14, at the Nancy Freeman Stringer Chapel at The Oaks with the Rev. Kristen Richardson-Frick officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Pooser, Whetsell McDaniel, Phillip Rand, Bill Gramling, Dr. Eugene Atkinson and Bobby Masterson.
Miss Sullivan was born in Orangeburg, a daughter of the late Phillip Asbury Sullins and Ada Louise P. Sullins. She was a retired elementary school teacher in the Orangeburg schools. Miss Sullins was an honorary member and Past President of the Orangeburg Music Club, member of the Pilot Club of Orangeburg, a charter member of the Teachers Bridge Club. She helped organized the Alpha Delta Kappa and was the first President. She was a member of the Paul McMichael UDC, Eutaw Chapter of the DAR, the Winthrop Alumni Association, and the Colonial Dames XVII Century and served as President of the Mary Sterling Heatley Russell Chapter. She was a charter member of the Orangeburg Garden Club. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, served in the Choir and was a member of the Sue Ackerman Sunday School class. Miss Sullins was predeceased by a brother, P. A. Sullins Jr.
Survivors include a number of cousins.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Leon Jackie Shuler
Funeral services for Mr. Leon Jackie Shuler, 61, of 1349 Crepe Myrtle Lane, Orangeburg, will be held noon Saturday, December 6, 2008, at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Charcey N. Priester, officiating. The casket will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Belleville Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Shuler, son of Clara Lush and the late Julius Carson was born October 13, 1947. He entered into eternal rest on December 1. He was educated in Orangeburg County public schools and graduated from Wilkinson High School. He was employed with Orangeburg Preparatory School Inc. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Choir.
He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Maggie Lee Shuler, of the home; three daughters, Karen Shuler, Carrie (John) Carson and Tiawana (Timothy) Morris; one son, Anthony Shuler; five stepsons, Warren (Annie) Salley, Tharry Salley, Lewis (Lisa) Salley, Carlton (Patricia) Salley and Earnest (Deloris) Lush; six grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; his stepmother-in-law; Lula Darby; two sisters-in-law, Eartha Lee Smith and Clara Mae Darby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Minerva Kathryn Blalock Stephenson
Minerva Blalock Stephenson, born on March 31, 1936, in Hannah, died on November 26, 2008, in North Florida Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Orangeburg to remember, celebrate, and give thanks for Minerva's life. A reception and opportunity to share our memories of her will follow the mass at Holy Trinity. A burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 8, at the National Cemetery in Florence.
Minerva married Ralph Stephenson in Florence on June 5, 1954. While she worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, and accountant for Sun Oil Company and Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College over periods of time, she considered her roles as wife and mother of her three children as the most important ones. Minerva had a gift for leaving her surroundings more beautiful. She sewed, knitted, crocheted, decoupaged, cross-stitched, quilted, and upholstered, meticulously perfecting these crafts on her own and giving of herself to others by designing clothing, window treatments, sweaters, banners, and many other creations.
Minerva was a counselor, teacher, role model, and loyal friend to many, and was loved for her sharp wit, keen intelligence, and great wisdom. With a strong faith in God and as a convert to the Catholic faith, she served for years in religious education and in other ministries in her parish of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Orangeburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Stephenson Sr.; and daughter, Maye Kathryn (Katy) Stirling; brothers, Alfred Blalock and Charles Blalock; and parents, Grover and Frieda Blalock.
She is survived by son, Ralph Stephenson Jr. of Pasadena, Md.; daughter, Angela Lindner and son-in-law, Jim Lindner of Gainesville, Fla.; and two sisters, Cornelia Poston of Hannah and Marie Rogers of Surfside Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Minerva Stephenson to be used for Holy Trinity's meditation garden (make checks out to St. Augustine Catholic Church and Student

Alzenia Glover, 76, of 267 Tabernacle Road, Bamberg, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at her residence.

Ms. Glorious E. Wright
The funeral services for Ms. Glorious E. Wright, 54, of Brooklyn, N.Y. and formerly of Orangeburg will be at noon Friday, December 5, 2008, at Simmons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Heavenly Rest Memorial Park of Cordova.
Ms. Wright, daughter of Lottie B. Williams and the Late Mose Wright was born on March 21, 1954. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 25, at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She attended Orangeburg County Public Schools and graduate from Wilkinson High School in 1972. At an early age, she joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church and later joined St. Paul Baptist Church. She moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1989. She was employed with Discovery Zone, Genoyese and Strauss. Until her health failed, she was employed with New York City Finance Department.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her mother, Lottie B. Williams Wright; two daughters, Dia (Willie Davis) Wright of Orangeburg and Shakera Wright Simeon of the home; two sisters, Mozel Wright and Pat Wright both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Jackie Wright of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Ernest Wright of Orangeburg; three uncles, Willie James Harling of Detroit, Jesse (Gladys) Word of Greenwood and Mackey C. Williams of Orangeburg; three grandchildren, Malik Wright, Marquis Wright and Devoria Goodman all of Orangeburg; one sister-in-law, Alfreda Mays Wright of Orangeburg; three nieces, 10 nephews and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
