Marion ‘Pee Wee’ David Haigler, ORANGEBURG

Funeral services for Mr. Marion D. Haigler, 45, of Maxcy Street, Orangeburg, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Simmons Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with the Rev. Julius Guinyard officiating. Burial will be in Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Orangeburg.

He died Monday, Jan. 22.

Mr. Haigler, son of the late Georgia Mae Haigler Murphy, was born May 19, 1961, in Orangeburg.

He graduated from Orangeburg Wilkinson High School and attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, where he received a certification in welding.

Survivors include his stepfather, James Murphy Sr.; reared by his aunt and uncle, Benjamin (Nelie Mae) Davis of Orangeburg; Vernell Robinson of North, Sharon Scott of St. Matthews, Benjamin Davis Jr., Cathy Summers and Tangulia Hamilton, all of Orangeburg; three sisters, Ivorylen (Curtis) Keller, Renessia (Jasper) Goodwin and Bobbie Jean Murphy, all of Orangeburg; one brother, James (Patricia) Murphy of St. Matthews; two aunts, Evine Mack and Julia Mae Brown, both of Orangeburg; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Friends may call at the residence of his aunt, Nelie Mae Davis, 435 Whaley St., Orangeburg, and at Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Little Jalah A’Zaria Peeples, SWANSEA

Funeral services for Little Jalah A’Zaria Peeples, 2, of Swansea, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Macedonia AME Church in Cope, with the Rev. George Randolph officiating. Burial will be in St. Dorcas Baptist Church Cemetery in North.

Jalah died Monday, Jan. 22.

She was born Nov. 5, 2004, in Richland County, a daughter of James Peeples Jr. and Laura J. McMichael.

Survivors include her parents of the home; a brother, JaQuan McMichael of the home; grandparents, Alma Jean McMichael of North and James and Deloris Peeples of Neeses; great-grandmother, Mrs. Cotell Myers of North; great-grandfather, Lucious Peeples Jr. of Norway; godparents; and a host of aunts, uncles, grand-aunts and uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at the residence of her grandparents, Brother James and Deloris Peeples, 147 Litmon Road, Neeses; at the residence of her cousins, Ronald and Beth Gordon Ritter, 412 Cromer Ave., North; and at W.B. Crumel Funeral Home of North.

Lawton G. Jenkins Sr., COLUMBIA

Funeral services for Mr. Lawton G. Jenkins Sr., 98, of 1514 South Kilbourne Drive, Columbia, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at St. James Baptist Church in Eutawville, with the Rev. Wayne Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Belvedere Cemetery.

The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Mr. Jenkins died Saturday, Jan. 20, at the residence of his son following an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 11, 1909, to the late Mr. Tommy and Mary Jenkins. He grew up in Eutawville and attended the public schools in the area. Mr. Jenkins began his career as a dairy truck driver and retired as a self-employed carpenter and construction worker.

At an early age, he joined St. James Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Senior Choir and the Christian Aide.

He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Dingle Jenkins. This union was blessed with nine children; two preceded him in death.

Survivors include five sons, Robert B. Jenkins, Lawton (Jadell) Jenkins, both of Columbia, Julius (Yvonne) Jenkins of Newberry, Ernest (Thelma) Jenkins of Brooklyn, N.Y., and William (Josephine) Jenkins of Eutawville; two daughters, Mary Alice Doctor and Carrie Della Jenkins, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Mary Jenkins of Greenwood; 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family hour will be held 6-7 p.m. Friday at Shuler-Marshall Funeral Home in Holly Hill.

Friends may call at 131 Rebecca Lane, Eutawville, and at the funeral home.

Otis ‘Fudny’ Blanding, ELLOREE

Otis “Fudny” Blanding, 62, of 204 Shadowfield Court, Elloree, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral plans will be announced by Williams Funeral Home of Elloree.

Friends may call at the residence of his niece, Mae Frances Molino, 121 Citation Drive, Elloree and the funeral home.

Arthur Chavis, CORDOVA

Funeral services for Arthur Chavis of Cordova will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.

Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg.

The Rev. Isaac Carter -- Denmark

The Rev. Isaac Carter, formerly of Denmark, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at Heritage Health Care of the Low Country, Estill.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 25, at Honey Ford Baptist Church in Denmark, with the Rev. Clary Green officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Rev. Carter was born June 25, 1915 in Barnwell County, a son of the late Joe and Mrs. Nettie Mae Wroten Carter. At an early age, he joined and was baptized at Honey Ford Baptist Church in Denmark. Rev. Carter was a farmer and an employee of the City of Denmark before retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Bias of Denmark; son-in-law, Clary Bias; a stepson, Willie James Coleman; four brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

A viewing is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wright’s Funeral Home, Denmark.

William Lisco Taylor, DORCHESTER

William Lisco Taylor, 67, of Dorchester, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, in Limestone Baptist Church Cemetery. Burial with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy will follow.

William was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Dorchester, a son of the late Preston Lisco Taylor and Mary Eunice Sweatman Taylor. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a former truck driver. He was a graduate of Harleyville High School and a member of Limestone Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Tracey (Loretta) Taylor of Holly Hill and Dale Taylor of St. Matthews; daughters, Gayle Taylor of St. Matthews and Billie Jo (Trae Marchant) Taylor of Dorchester; a brother, Walter H. Taylor of Dorchester; three sisters, Nancy (Doug) Shuler and Norma Renn, both of Holly Hill, and Myra Taylor of Orangeburg; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.

Mrs. Patsy Butz, SANTEE

Mrs. Patsy Diane Butz, 59, of Santee Cooper Resort, Santee, wife of Jerry Butz, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at her home.

The Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Avinger Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 9 p.m.

Funeral services and burial will be in Huntington, Ind.

Mrs. Butz was born in Huntington, a daughter of the late Howard and Josephine Casper Solloway. She was director of the Santee Literacy Council and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Santee. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Solloway.

Surviving are her husband of Santee; daughters, Missy Bills of Santee and Mindi Potter of Clarksville, Tenn.; stepdaughters, Jill Huffman of Warren, Ohio, and Ashley Butz of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; stepsons, Jeff Butz of Opelika, Ala., and Logan Butz of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Mary Reust of Huntington, Ind.; brothers, Jack Solloway of Okeechobee, Fla., Bill Solloway of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Steve Solloway of Crossville, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Alexis and Sydney Potter of Clarksville, Tenn., and Ally Bills of Santee.

Memorials may be made to the Santee Literacy Council, PO Box 1258, Santee, SC 29142.

Tarell Levert Waymer, ORANGEBURG

Funeral services for Mr. Tarell Levert Waymer, 19, of 858 Stilton Road, Orangeburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Donald E. Green officiating. Burial will be in Belleville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Orangeburg.

The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Mr. Waymer died Saturday, Jan. 20.

He was born Oct. 27, 1987, in Orangeburg, the son of Cynthia Waymer and Richard Butler. He was educated in Orangeburg District Five schools and was employed at Mediterranean Grill at the time of his death.

Survivors include his mother, Cynthia Waymer of the home; father, Richard Butler of Fairfax; one sister, Sharetta Waymer of Orangeburg; one brother, Richard Waymer of the home; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Rasberry of Orangeburg; paternal grandmother, Janie Bell Butler of Orangeburg; one son, Ta’Veon Waymer; four aunts, Debra Pigue of Minneapolis, Minn., Diane Rowe, Ann Butler and Janie Waymyers, all of Orangeburg; two uncles, Randy Waymer of Charlotte and Kevin Rasberry of Columbia; two nieces, Sharaye Jackson and J’Asia Wannamaker, both of Orangeburg; and a host of cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Friends may call at the residence of his mother, Cynthia Waymer, 858 Stilton Road, Orangeburg, and at Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
