Emma Elizabeth ‘Toots’ Rourk Yancey -- St. Matthews
Emma Elizabeth “Toots” Rourk Yancey, 80, of St. Matthews, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Calhoun Convalescent Center, St. Matthews, after an illness.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, in Jerusalem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Old Number Six Highway, Elloree.
Mrs. Yancey was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Bunnie Lee Rourk and the late Emma Delle Strock Pridgen. She was a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church. She was a retired seamstress and painter. She was married to the late Solomon Yancey.
Survivors include one son, Bunnie Solomon Yancey and wife, Gloria; one daughter, Kim Elizabeth Spires and husband, Mackey, all of St. Matthews; one sister, Minnie Lee Griffin of Santee; three grandchildren, Penny (Dave) Bennett, Christopher Yancey and Mariska (Chad) Odum; and four great-grandchildren, Justin Yancey, Rebel (Nikki) Bennett, Courtney Odum and Samantha Odum.

Woodrow Mack Jr. -- Bridgeport, Conn.
Woodrow Mack Jr., of 210 Washington Ave., Bridgeport, Conn., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at St. Vincent Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Jan. 25, at Granger Baptist Church in Elloree, with the Rev. Edward Prince officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Patsy Butz, SANTEE
Rosary for Mrs. Patsy Diane Butz, 59, of Santee Cooper Resort, Santee, wife of Jerry Butz, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill, with visitation to follow until 9 p.m.
Funeral and burial will be in Huntington, Ind.
Mrs. Butz died Wednesday, Jan. 24, at her home.

Patricia H. Langford, IRMO
Patricia H. Langford, widow of William S. Langford of Irmo, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital, Columbia, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Union United Methodist Church, Irmo, with the Rev. Richard Holliday and the Rev. Dr. Patricia P. Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, Columbia.
Members of the Columbia Twirlers Square & Round Dance Club are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Langford was born to Pink D. and Mary E. Harley. She was a graduate of North High School and Columbia Commercial College. She retired from USC-Facilities Management Center in December 2005. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church, Irmo, and was an active member of the PEP Ministry group, Pauline Younginer Circle and Singles Group and was an active participant in The Live Christmas Story. Mrs. Langford was a member of the Columbia Twirlers Square & Round Dance Club, West Columbia.
Survivors include her sisters, Jeanette H. Justice of Orangeburg, Mary Frances Garner of Edmund, Rose H. Stroman of North, Martha H. Sharpe of Lexington and Chris Hollis of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Joanne Best of Irmo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Ackerman, Oncologist, and Dr. Dalton Prickett, Surgeon, the medical staff of Palmetto Baptist Oncology Department and Palmetto Health Hospice, members of Union United Methodist Church, friends, and others who were there to care for Mrs. Langford during this difficult time.

Lorenzo Stewart, 55, of St. George, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 in Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, in Bethel No. 2 Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Brown & Son Funeral Home, will be in Bethel No. 2 Cemetery.
Mr. Stewart was born in Reevesville, a son of the late Mrs. Queenie Simmons Stewart and the Rev. Willie Stewart. At an early age, he joined Greenville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hayes, Ms. Sharon Stewart, Mrs. Queenie Stewart and Ms. Geneva Highland, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two brothers, Willie C. Stewart of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Johnnie Stewart of St. George.
Mrs. Idella W. Lockard, ORANGEBURG
Mrs. Idella W. Lockard of 104 Millwood Farm Road, Orangeburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at her residence after a brief illness.

Rita Williams Reichert, WEST COLUMBIA
Rita Williams Reichert, 59, of West Columbia, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Bryant Funeral Home, 607 North Parler Ave., St. George, with the Rev. Don Thames officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Dantzler, Wes Mizell, Richie Shuman, Paul Weeks, Ronald Quattlebaum and Luke Quattlebaum.
Rita was born March 15, 1947, in Summerville, a daughter of the late James Ernest Weeks and Kittie L. Wimberly. She was a graduate of St. George High School. She was the widow of Carl Reichert.
Survivors include a foster son, Allen Kaminer of the home; a son, Douglas Edward Rabon of Manning; a daughter, Teresa Ann R. Conway of Ore City, Texas; two brothers, Richard A. “Ricky” (Diane) Williams of Harleyville and James P. (Cindy) Weeks of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Pinckney W. (James) Mount of Middleburg, Fla., and Karen W. (Bobby) Shuler, Patricia (Jimmy) Dantzler and Lynn W. Reynolds, all of St. George; and three grandchildren, Courtney Rabon, Blake Rabon and Austin Conway.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Bryant Funeral Home.

Robert Snipes, DURHAM, N.C.
Funeral services for Robert Snipes of Durham, N.C., formerly of St. Matthews, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Fort Motte, with the Rev. James A.ˇ Williams officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Snipes was born Aug. 23, 1952, in Calhoun County, a son of Mrs. Hettie Cheeseboro Snipes and the late Deacon Joseph Snipes.
He attended the Calhoun County schools and was a graduate of John Ford High School, Class of 1971. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He later enlisted in the 51st Medical Unit of the S.C. National Guard. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother of St. Matthews; his companion, Arlene Simmons of Durham; daughters, Theresa Guinyard of Columbia and Crystal (Wilford) Perry and Celeste (Benito) Benjamin, both of Durham; three sisters, Ms. Mary S. Dantzler, Elnora (Lewis) Hickson and Rosealla S. Jones, all of St. Matthews; three brothers, Joseph Snipes Jr. of Omaha, Neb., and Willie E. (Margie) Snipes and Corey Snipes, all of St. Matthews; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild;13 nieces and grand-nieces.

Chesterfield Lamont King, ORANGEBURG
Funeral services for Mr. Chesterfield Lamont King, 82, of Palmetto Place Apartments, Apt. K-2, Orangeburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Glover’s Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Marshall Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Belleville Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Mr. King died Saturday, Jan. 20, at Providence Hospital Northeast.
He was born March 24, 1924, in St. James, Barbados, the son of the late Marth Lurther King and the late Voila King. He received his education in Barbados and worked as a construction laborer in Barbados. In 1964 he relocated to the United States to continue his career and tradesmanship in the construction field.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph King and Verna Forde; and two daughters, Ms. Eurita King and Ms. Lourita Solomon.
Survivors include four daughters, Ms. Grace King Cumming, Mrs. Margaret King Blackman, Mrs. Marva King Smith and Ms. Terry Moss; two sons, Owen King and John Winston King; two brothers, John Forde and Sam Forde; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
