Funeral services for George Quinton Sessions, 88, of Williston, will be held two p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with burial at the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road. The Reverends Stanley Adams and Toby Rowell will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday and other times at the home in Williston. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, 857 Mt. Beulah Road, Windsor, SC 29856. George passed away Monday, February 14, 2011.
Born in Marion, SC, he was a son of the late George Robert Sessions and Rhoda Connor Sessions and was first married to the late Catherine Young Sessions. George graduated from Florence High School and attended Colorado State University; he was a WW II Army Veteran of the European Theatre having served under General George Patton, was an amateur HAM radio operator and retired from E. I. DuPont as a technician. A great Christian man, he was a former member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church, Williston and was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, Windsor. He wrote several novels and had his war stories published in The People Sentinel. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and enjoyed having visitors at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Frances D. Kitchings Sessions of the home; daughters, Catherine S. (Harry) Baird of Graniteville, Linda K. (Bill) Johnson of Williston; sons, George M. (Denna) Sessions of St. Helena Island, Paul S. (Peggy) Sessions of Columbia, Wallace (Sheryl) Kitchings of Elko, Gene Kitchings of Aiken; grandchildren Melody Baird, Chris (Nicole) Sessions; a great grandson, Coen Sessions and a number of other grandchildren and great grandchildren; a special friend, Judy Sowell. He was predeceased by an infant brother; daughter, Miriam K. Cooley; sisters, Gwendolyn S. Williams, Modena S. Baucom.

Funeral services for Linda Diane Douglas, 54, of Springfield, SC will be held three p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverend Glenn Metts officiating. Burial will be in the Morgantown Cemetery, Springfield. The family will receive friends from five to seven p.m., Saturday, January 29th at the funeral home. Linda passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011.
Born in Waco, TX, she was a daughter of Lois Williams Carroll and the late Granvel Carroll. She formerly attended First Church of God in Campbellsville, KY and worked at the Biddie Banquet in Orangeburg.
Survivors include her husband, Murray C. Douglas of the home, her mother of Campbellsville, KY; step-daughter, Susan Marie Lloyd; step-son, William Murray Douglas and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services for Elsie B. Hartzog, formerly of Columbia, SC will be held four p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Double Pond Baptist Church, Blackville, S.C. with Rev. Tim Edmonds officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Mrs. Hartzog was a native of SC, and has lived in Marietta, GA for the past seven years to be with her family. She passed away Wednesday, January, 26, 2011.
Born in Charleston, SC, she was the only child of the late William DuBose Boynton and Alma Schmetzer Boynton and was married to the late James Byrnes (Jim) Hartzog. She was a graduate of Limestone College, was a retired public school teacher having taught in Barnwell and Richland counties and Columbia College.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean Hartzog Presley, son-in-law, Doyle Presley; granddaughters, Lauren Boynton Presley and Ashton Elizabeth Presley all of Marietta, Ga.
Clara Ashley Randall

Born in Barnwell County, she was a daughter of the late C. E. Ashley and Eula Lee Ready Ashley and was married to the late James Horace Randall. Clara was a member of Williston First Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Rebecca Sunday School Class and a member of the Morning Missionary Group. She worked many years with the young children at the church, starting with the nursery on up to intermediates. Children were a joy to her heart. Clara worked for Skyline Manufacturing Company and later delivered Meals on Wheels throughout the community. One of her greatest joys was being a riding or driving companion for her friends; it made her happy when someone asked her for a favor; she loved people of all ages and was ready at any time when health would permit.
Survivors include a daughter, Dixie Randall Cook of London, AR; sons, Ted (Susan) Randall of Columbia, SC, Dan (Jennifer) Randall of Irmo, SC; grandchildren, Douglas Cook, Lori (Tony) Perricelli, Katherine (John) Page, Jessica (Jay) Etherton, Rebecca (Grant) Branden; a sister, Rosa Bell Ashley, nieces, nephews and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, William Cook.
Edward "Ed" Barnett

A Celebration of Life for Edward “Ed” Barnett, 65, of Williston, SC will be held three p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2011 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, with Masonic Rites accorded. The family will receive friends from two p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home; the Rev. Floyd Dukes will be officiating. Ed passed away at his home on Thursday, September 22, 2011.
Born in Savannah, GA, he was a son of the late Samuel Hutchenson Barnett and Mary Holden Barnett and was married to Dianne Medford Barnett. Ed moved to Williston to work at ColorMarks where he became the plant manager. He then went to Schumpert’s Building Supply which later became Buck’s Building Supply where he was currently working. Ed was a member of the Hope Masonic Lodge # 126.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne of the home; a daughter, Renee Barnett (Mark) Cundiff of Simpsonville, SC; a son, Sammie (Cheryl) Barnett of Crossville, TN; a brother, Richard (Joanne) Barnett of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Chelsea Barnett, Jazmyn Anstead and Lindsey Cundiff.

Funeral Services for Everette Stanley McDonald, 71, of Blackville, SC will be held eleven am Wednesday October 12, 2011 at the Blackville First Baptist Church with burial in the Blackville Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Stanley’s nephews and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers honorary pallbearers will be members and former members of the Barnwell County Police Departments, Sheriff’s Department and the Local Detachment #1226 Marine Corps League. The family will receive friends from six to eight pm Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Folk Funeral Home in Williston. Stanley passed away at his home on Sunday, October 9, 2011.

Born in Savannah, Ga. he was a son of the late E.J. McDonald and Hattie Lou Bacon McDonald. Stanley retired as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine’s having served in Vietnam where he received numerous medals including a purple heart. After his service to our country, Stanley served as a police officer in Blackville, worked as a deputy sheriff for Barnwell County and retired as Chief of Police with the Blackville Police Department. He also served as a councilman for the city of Blackville, was a member of the Blackville American Legion Post 91 and was a member of the Blackville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joan Elizabeth Benson McDonald of the home; daughters and sons in law; Elizabeth Lynne McDonald Allen and Daniel Webster Allen of Columbia, Teresa Robin McDonald Howell and Lamar Malachi Howell of Conway; grandsons, Brandon Lamar Howell, Hunter McDonald Howell, Reese Daniel Allen and Jacob Everette Allen; sister, Kathy Angela (Woody) MacKay of Guyton, Ga.; brother, Larry Virgil (Marie) McDonald of McKinney, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.

Born in Chicago, Il., she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mae Paske Jadwick. She was married to the late Robert Milton Hammond Sr., was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken, SC

Funeral services for Susie Ann Driggers Churchwell, 78, of Blackville, SC will be held four p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with burial in the Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six to nine p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Mrs. Susie passed away Monday, October 10, 2011.
Born in Healing Springs, SC, she was a daughter of the late Gary Eugene “Bonson” Driggers and Lucille Proctor Driggers. She was a homemaker having worked for Blackville Manufacturing Company and was a member of the Springfield Church of God.
Survivors include daughters, Eleanor (Bobby) Williams, Betty (Donnie) Grubbs, Sophia (Billy) Still; son, Jerry L. (Phyllis) Churchwell; sisters, Irene Churchwell, Eloise Lawrimore and Fannie Mae Hammett; brothers, Clifford “Buddy” Driggers, J. Mack Driggers, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Churchwell; a son, Willie Perry Churchwell; sisters, Bronell Wood, Mary Elizabeth Driggers; brothers, Joe Driggers and Eugene Driggers.
Enos Edward Heatwole

Enos Edward Heatwole, 82, of Denmark, South Carolina died at his home on Saturday, September 24, 2011 after several months of declining health. He was born December 14, 1928 in Rockingham County, Virginia, and was a son of the late Ralph F. and Vera (Early) Heatwole. He was a member of the Barnwell Mennonite Church.
On July 12, 1950 he married Glennys (Blosser) Heatwole, who survives him. Also surviving are their six children and their spouses: Don (Betty Martin), of Denmark, SC, Wendell (Naomi Hartzler), Carl (Grace Hostetler), and Benita (Danny Hege), all of Olar, SC, Ruth (Dale Dickerson) of Denmark, SC, and Ann Marie (Aden Diem), also of Olar, SC. He has 27 surviving grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Enos is also survived by five sisters: Miriam Brubaker, Olar, SC, Ida Goering, Dayton, VA, Twila Risser, Waynesboro, PA, Evelyn Strite, Hartwell, GA, Doris Landis, Waynesboro, GA, and Vera Rose Campbell, Dayton, VA, and by three brothers; Daniel Heatwole, Yakima, WA, Willard Heatwole, Bridgewater, VA, and Byard Heatwole, Millen, GA. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Rhett Heatwole and Gideon Heatwole, and by two brothers, Roy Heatwole and Oren Heatwole.
Enos and Glennys moved from Virginia to Bamberg County, SC in 1973. He was a lifelong farmer and found enjoyment and fulfillment in caring for the land. As a longtime deacon, Enos, along with his wife, enjoyed serving the church and the extended community. He had a deep concern for the spiritual wellbeing of those he related to.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Barnwell Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September, 28, 2011 at the Barnwell Mennonite Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Barnwell Christian School Endowment Fund, 2681 Juniper Creek Road, Olar, SC 29843.

Terry Lee Wynne, 31, of 7 Deer Meadow, St. Matthews, died at his residence.
Funeral services will be announced by Carson's Funeral Home of St. Matthews.
