Elizabeth Staley Knight -- Bowman

Elizabeth Staley Knight, 85, of Bowman, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Duncan Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bob Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Huff, Raymond Knight, Sheldon Knight, Roger Staley, Jimmy Canaday, Donny Knight and Randy Boland.
Mrs. Knight was born on March 10, 1921, in Bowman, a daughter of the late Willie and Lessie Patrick Staley. She was a member of Duncan Chapel United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Gregg Knight; and a brother, J.W. Staley.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, J. Hugh and Delura Knight of Orangeburg and C. Lyn and Joyce Knight of Bowman; grandchildren, Donny Knight of Bowman, Shane (Alicia) Knight of San Antonio, Texas, and Candace (Dave) Tussey of Maryville, Tenn.; and great-grandchildren, Shane Knight, Kayla Knight and Brandon Almond.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.

Katie Belle John Drake, 100, of 1000 Methodist Oaks Drive, Orangeburg, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at The Methodist Oaks.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, in Drake Cemetery, Blenheim, with the Rev. Larry Zaky officiating.
Mrs. Drake was born in Blenheim, a daughter of the late Will and Nora Rogers John. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames. She was a member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, Bennettsville. She was the widow of Ansel A. Drake.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Moss H. (Belle) Perrow Sr. of Cameron; two grandsons, Moss H. Perrow Jr. and wife, Peggy, and A. Drake Perrow and wife, Linda, all of Cameron; and four great-grandchildren, Adam Perrow, Stewart Perrow, Charlotte Perrow and John Perrow, all of Cameron.

Mr. Sherril Scott Rahn, 42, of 187 Moselle Road, Islandton, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at his residence following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Peniel Baptist Church, 37 Forks Road, Islandton. Burial will be in the family plot in the church cemetery.
Scott was born Nov. 22, 1964, in Walterboro, a son of Mrs. Linda Mock Rahn and the late Sherril Isaac “Bozie” Rahn. He graduated with the Class of 1983 from Wade Hampton High School and was a member of Saint Johns Baptist Church in Ehrhardt. He was an auto body specialist. Auto body repair was his life and passion.
Survivors in addition to his mother of Islandton include two daughters, Kimberly Rahn Lentz and her husband, Cpl. Dustin Lentz (stationed with military forces in Iraq) of Beaufort and Jennifer Rahn of Ehrhardt; two brothers, Greg Rahn and Mikey DeLoach of Islandton; two sisters, Sherri Nettles of Islandton and Robin Drawdy of Hampton; a special aunt, Cecile Weinhold of Cocoa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Alma Simmons, 95, of Harleyville, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at St. Daniel United Methodist Church in Harleyville, with the Rev. John P. Thomas, pastor. Burial will be in the Dorchester Cemetery.
Mrs. Simmons was born July 4, 1911, a daughter of the late George and Laurena McFadden. She was a member of St. Daniel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Lisco Simmons (Joella) of Harleyville and Marion Simmons (Mae) of York, Pa.; one daughter, Ernestine Williams (Robert) of Harleyville.

Mrs. Juanita Elizabeth Smith McCracken, of Branchville, passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday Jan. 6, at Ott Funeral Home in Branchville. Burial will be in Ott Cemetery in Branchville.
“Pete”, as she was affectionally known by her friends, and family was born May 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Andrew Smith and Elizabeth Turk Smith, in Greenville. She finished school in Greenville before moving to Charleston for a career at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. On Aug. 29, 1958, she married Theodore Roosevelt McCracken in Branchville. Ted passed away in September 2001. Pete was a longtime member of the Women's Republican Association, and a loyal Clemson Tiger fan.
She is survived by two sons, T. Arden McCracken and his wife, Sandy, of Houston and J. Barry McCracken and wife, Joyce, of Virginia Beach Va.; three grandchildren, Kelly McCracken Barnhill and husband, John, of Austin Texas, Kasey McCracken of Portland, Ore., and Scott McCracken of Virginia Beach, Va..; four great grandchildren, Cecilia and Fletcher Barnhill of Austin, Texas, and Griffin and Arden Jourda of Portland, Ore.; one brother, Allister Smith and his wife, Helen, of Greenville; one sister, Patricia Gano and her husband, Peter, of Winona Lake Ind.; and a number of well-loved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Diane Hughes for all of her love, care and generous support of Pete over the past few years.
