Mrs. Delma Wilson McCants, 75, of 2249 Neeses Highway, Orangeburg, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Orangeburg Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church in Cope, with the Rev. Chuck Wells officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.
The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be Orangeburg Nursing Home staff.
Mrs. McCants was born October 5, 1931, in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Leroy Wilson and the late Aline Strong Wilson. She was a member of Two Mile Swamp Baptist Church. She was the widow of Cecil McCants and was preceded in death by a grandson, Jamie Crisp.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Dale (Glenda) Newton of Turbeville, Mrs. Ray (Vicki) Weeks of Cope, and Mrs. Scott (Kim) Neal of Cherryville, N.C.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lavern (Toni) McCants of Orangeburg, Dennis McCants of Montera, Tenn., and Tim (Lynda) McCants of Orangeburg; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanelle (Jenny) Roberts of Lancaster; four brothers, Carl Wilson of Leesville, Harry Wilson of Charleston, Bobby Wilson and Dalford Wilson, both of Great Falls; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence, 2249 Neeses Highway, Orangeburg, and at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Mrs. Elease S. Green, 92, formerly of 2319 Russell St., Orangeburg, died Thursday, December 7, 2006, at Orangeburg Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Theodore Wilbur Webber, 91, of 755 Whitman St., Orangeburg, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Orangeburg Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Mr. Webber died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at Orangeburg Nursing Home.
Mr. Webber was born in the Providence community, a son of the late William C. and Laura Shuler Webber. He was a former farmer and retired from Greenwood Mills as a supply clerk. He was a member of the Progressive Farmers. Mr. Webber was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving in WWII, a member of American Post No. 4 and former member of the Knights of Pythias. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was predeceased by two brothers, George Preston Webber and James C. Webber; a sister, Nina Louise Howell; and was the widower of Ruth Dickson Webber.
Survivors include four daughters, Ms. Judy W. Shuler, of Columbia, Ms. Ileen Barwick, of Orangeburg, Mrs. Stan (Laura) Levingood of Haw River, N.C., and Ms. Theo Martin of Orangeburg; a brother, Norwood H. Webber of Orangeburg; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca Lois Shuler, Catherine Amelia Shuler, Larry Wayne Shuler, Jennifer B. Smith, Wilbur Harrison Barwick, Christopher Allen Barwick, Laura Elizabeth Robertson Reynolds, Sara Martin Calvert, Aubrey James Martin and Emily Ruth Martin; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at the residence of Ms. Ileen Barwick, 134 Pompion Hill Drive, Orangeburg.

Clifford Wilson Poteat Jr., GREENVILLE

Clifford Wilson Poteat Jr., of 101 Sanderling Lane, Greenville, and Pawleys Island, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville after a valiant struggle with lymphoma.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Cooner Funeral Home Chapel, 287 McGee St., Bamberg. Burial will be in South End Cemetery in Bamberg.
Mr. Poteat was born Mary 18, 1935, in Morganton, N.C., a son of the late Clifford W. Poteat and Nell Abernathy Poteat. He was a graduate of Mars Hill Junior College and Lenoir Rhyne College.
Cliff was a business analyst for Dan River, Greenwood Mills, John D. Hollingsworth, Indian Head Hosiery, Hickory Springs Manufacturing and E.J. Smith and Sons. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenville, and attended services at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church as well.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Marion Ann Poteat, and a grandson, Brett Thomas Lang Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Craven Poteat; daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Lang and her husband, Brett Thomas Lang; a son, Michael Craven Poteat; one grandson, Jonas Brett Lang; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Lang, all of Atlanta; a brother, Mickey F. Poteat; two nephews and two nieces.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the residence.

Johnny Johnson, ORANGEBURG

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Johnson, 70, of 2228 Shillings Bridge Road, Orangeburg, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Nathaniel Boneparte officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Willie McMichael, Jervey Daniels, Lorenzo Duley, Demeteius Anderson, Willie Jackson and Morris Jackson.
Mr. Johnson died Saturday, Dec. 2, at The Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Bamberg County, a son of the late Boss Johnson and the late Jessie Dantzler. He attended Edisto Grammar School. He was employed at Atlantic Foundation and Johnson’s Septic Tank Companies in Florida. He was also employed at Palmetto Sash and Door of Orangeburg for 25 years and at Edisto Carrier of Orangeburg as a truck driver for 45 years.
At an early age he joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Orangeburg and was a member of the Male Chorus.
One brother, Charles Cobb, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Johnson of the home; three sons, Johnny Johnson of Pine View, Ga., Johnny C. Johnson and Ryan Johnson, both of Orangeburg; three daughters, Annie J. Johnson of Duane, Fla., Barnette (Kendrick) Singleton and Tiffany N. Johnson, both of Orangeburg; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a goddaughter, LaSharta Felder of Georgia; a special niece, Eula Rowe; father-in-law, Shelton Moorer Sr. of Cordova; mother-in-law, Rose Moorer of Cope; two brothers-in-law, Sheldon Moorer Jr. of Orangeburg and Larry (Daisy) Moorer of Orangeburg; one sister-in-law, Brenda (Levine) Dash of Orangeburg; special friends, Walt Funchess, Jervey Daniels, John Hickson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Geneva Williams Wilhoite, ORANGEBURG

Funeral services for Geneva Mae “Gee” Williams Stocking Wilhoite, 86, of 755 Whitman St., Orangeburg, will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Shiloh AME Church, Elloree, with the Rev. Willie H. Brown and retired presiding Elder Alonzo Middleton officiating. Burial will be in Browning Branch Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilhoite died Sunday, Dec. 3, at Orangeburg Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 16, 1920, to Ethel W. and the late Marion R. Williams in Elloree.
Mrs. Wilhoite was educated in Orangeburg County Training School, Elloree, and South Carolina State College, Orangeburg. She taught Home Economics in Woodruff before serving a short time in the Women’s Army Corps (WAC). Geneva also taught elementary school in St. Louis, Mo., and Chicago.
A lifelong member of Shiloh AME Church, she served faithfully as a member of the Usher Board, Stewardess Board II, Homemakers Garden Club, Floral Club and sang in the choir until her health began to detoriate.
Survivors include her loving mother, Ethel W. Williams of Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews in St. Matthews; a very devoted sister, Vivian W. Moses of Elloree; three brothers, Col. (Ret) Howard M. Williams (Miriam B.) of Virginia Beach, Va., Carl S. Williams of New York, N.Y., and Dr. (Ret) Samuel W. Williams of Elloree; sisters-in-law, Olive S. Williams of Elloree, Georgianna Williams of Providence, R.I., and Constance “Connie” Williams of Chicago; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home of Elloree and will also begin at 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
