Sieglinde Maria Kirchner Nix, 59, of 1299 Mile Creek Road, wife of Jimmy Dean Nix, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
Born in Lohr Main (Bavaria), Germany, she was the daughter of the late Wensel Swoboda and Hedwig Kirchner Meller.
Sieglinde was a housewife and member of Keowee Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Gary Gene McDaniel of Clemson and Roger Michael Edward McDaniel of Greenville; two stepsons, Dale Nix and Jerry Nix, both of Greer; three grandchildren, Jimmy Nix, Jessica Nix and Chasity Burkett; two sisters, Christa Meller of Miami, and Erica Vaethjunker of Germany; and a brother, Norbert Meller of Alberta, Canada.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial in Keowee Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pelham Harrison Pearson
Greenville
Pelham Harrison Pearson, 71, formerly of 122 Pearson Road, Belton, died Friday, March 31, 2006.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Tulley and Mildred Satterfield Pearson. Prior to retirement, he owned Belton Kar Wash for 25 years. A stroke that occurred 11 years ago caused his early retirement. Mr. Pearson was a member of Airport Baptist Church, where he enjoyed worshipping and serving the Lord.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Patsy C. Pearson, of the home; daughter, Pamela J. Orr and husband, David; son, Sgt. Major Brian Pearson of the U.S. Army; six grandchildren, Ashley Hulsey, Brandy Pearson, Stuart Cason, Allison Yarborough and husband Chris, Nicole Pearson and Adam Pearson; four great-grandchildren; sister, Orena Davis; and two brothers, James Elbert Pearson and William Randolph Pearson.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with visitation prior from noon to 1:15 p.m. Interment to follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.

Martha L. Pollard

Martha Geraldine Leachman Pollard, 81, of 106 Surry Drive, wife of the late William Thomas Pollard, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Greenville County, the daughter of the late John and Ophelia Hendrix Leachman, Mrs. Pollard retired from Fiber Industries in Greenville, and was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Surviving are three sons, Richard Dan Singleton of Easley, William Lee "Bill" Getz of Greenville and Robert Getz of Liberty; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Pollard was predeceased by a son, Frederick Getz.
No services are planned.

Eugene l. Prater

Eugene L. Prater, 92, of Cayce, widower of Bessie Adams Prater, died March 31, 2006.
Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Eugene C. and Linner Goff Prater. He retired from M.L. Lowenstein Company and was a member of the West Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Prater served in World War II with the Defense Department in Washington, D.C., and served with the civil service at the Columbia Army Air Base as a fireman, serving with the Doolittle Raiders.
He is survived by four sons, Harold P. Prater of West Columbia, Lloyd T. Prater of Leesville, Carey V. Prater of Cayce, and Oral E. Prater of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Deronda P. Martin; a brother, H.S. Prater of Joanna; a sister, Theressa King of Honea Path; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, including a marine currently stationed in Iraq; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arthur Mitchell Pressley, 89, formerly of Ware Shoals, widower of Sara Martin Pressley and Nellie Calvert Pressley, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Hospice House in Anderson.
Survivors: Two sons, Jim Pressley, Shelby, N.C., and Larry Pressley, Eaton, Ga, ; one brother, Warren Pressley, Hickory Tavern; one sister, Iris Baldwin, Nashville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services: 3 p.m. today, Poplar Springs Baptist Church with visitation 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. -- Parker-White Funeral Home.
Jerry M. Robinson

Jerry McKinney Robinson, 48, of 1820 Ridge Road, passed away Friday, March 31, 2006, at his home.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Dock Carl and June Case Robinson. Mr. Robinson was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two brothers, Terry Robinson of Marietta and Steve Robinson of Cleveland; three half-sisters, Mary Rathbone, Sue Green, and Hazel Yates; and two half-brothers, Buddy and Bill Freeman, all of Travelers Rest.
He was predeceased by three half-brothers, J.C., Clyde and Bud Robinson; and two half-sisters, Natalie Cantrell and Madaline Powell.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial in Grand View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

Virgil 'Bud' Rowland

Virgil D. "Bud" Rowland, 73, of 107 Hastings Circle, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Laurel Hill Nursing Center.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Oliver and Florence McCombs Rowland, Mr. Rowland retired with the City of Easley and was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church where he belonged to the Men's Bible Class.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Shelton Rowland of the home; a brother, James F. Rowland of Greenville; and a sister, Lucille R. Crenshaw of Salem.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Caldwell, Rev. Bobby Goodwin and Rev. H.C. Couch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Men's Bible Class of Cedar Rock Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Escort.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Perla Belle Parker Stowe

Perla Belle Parker Stowe, 97, of Rolling Green Nursing Home, died Friday, March 31, 2006.
Born in Jesup, GA., she was a daughter of the late David Monroe and Carrie Bennett Parker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy F. Boggs, and her second husband, John D. Stowe.
Mrs. Stowe moved to South Carolina at an early age. She came to Greenville to teach in the Parker School District upon graduating from what is now the University of N.C. at Greensboro. Mrs. Stowe taught for 41 years in what is now Greenville County School District. She was active in professional organizations, having been a past president of the Greenville County Education Association, the Greenville-Parker Classroom Teacher Association, and Delta Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, International. She was instrumental in the organizations of Tau, Alpha Alpha, Alpha Gamma, and Alpha Pi Chapters of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, International in Greenville County. At the time of death, Mrs. Stowe was a member of the Alpha Pi Chapter.
At the state level, Mrs. Stowe has served as Recording Secretary of the SCEA and also of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She has served on many committees at the local and state levels and has held various offices at the local level.
She held a Life Membership in the National Education Association, the S.C. Education Association, the S.C. Retired Educators Association, American Association of University Women, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, International, and Womens Synodical Union of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Stowe was active in the Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where she served as Circle Leader, was a member of the choir, and was a Sunday School Class officer.
She was one of the organizers and charter members of Devenger Road A.R.P. Church, but was a member of Greenville A.R.P. Church at the time of her death.
Mrs. Stowe also served several terms as president of Panello Rouse Garden Club.
She was the last member of her immediate family. Surviving are nephew, David B. Teal of Leesburg, Va, ; niece, Edith Teal Simmons of Mount Pleasant; one great-niece; one great-nephew; five great-great nieces and nephews; and two great-great-great nieces.
Mrs. Stowe was preceded in death by her sister, Edith P. Teal; and brother, Joseph B. Parker.
Visitation will be held today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Chapel services will be Monday at 3 p.m., with private committal services in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family is at their respective homes.
Peggy M. Sweeney

Mrs. Peggy Marie Sweeney, 59, of 211 Twinleaf Way, passed away March 29, 2006.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Watt and the late Fay Drake Watt. Mrs. Sweeney worked as an accountant in the pharmaceutical industry.
Survivors: Husband, James L. Sweeney; son, Erik James Sweeney of the home; two brothers, Charlie Watt of Clendenin, Ohio, Doug Watt of Belpre, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the chapel of Cannon Funeral Home, Fountain Inn.
