BETHUNE - Otis L. Corbett, 89, died, Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004.
Born Feb. 1, 1915, he was the son of the late Sidney Durant Corbett and Lillian Betrice Bell Corbett. He was married
to Magnolia S. "Maggie" Corbett. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bethune.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David L. Corbett of Bethune; three stepsons, Dennis Horton of McBee, Bruce Horton and Danny Horton, both of Bethune; a stepdaughter, Peggy Dixon of Lugoff; a brother, Crolley D. Corbett of Camden; two sisters, Sadie Marland of New York and Bessie Lee Dixon of Columbia; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchilden.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Wayne Flowers, with burial in the Brannon cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and other times at the home, 2603 Waters Road.

Clifton Funderburk Jr., 27
Clifton Funderburk Jr., 27, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004.
Born Nov. 7, 1977, in Lancaster County, he was the son of Clifton Funderburk Sr. and Brenda Funderburk. He was a 1996 graduate of Buford High School. He was employed by the Harris Teeter Distribution Center. He was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church in Pageland.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Brenda D. Hayden of Lancaster; paternal grandmother, Margie Funderburk of Pageland; a nephew, Justin Leeshawn Hayden, and a niece, Brianna La'Jada Hayden.
Services were held Thursday at the Flint Ridge Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Eddie McIlwain, with burial in the church cemetery.

Robert Alton Mobley Sr., 89
Robert Alton Mobley Sr., 89, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004.
Born April 27, 1915, in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Jesse Hammond Mobley and Florence Floyd Mobley. He was married
to Ida Hamilton Mobley. He was a retired school administrator for the Lancaster, Cherokee and Colleton county school districts. He was a former chairman and member of the Lancaster County school board, a former Furman University trustee and a member of First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school and served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Alton Mobley Jr. and his wife, Norma Jean, of Columbia; a daughter, Anne Mobley Childers and her husband, Gene, of Gaffney; a sister, Verda Mobley Steele of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Childers Hamilton, Lawrence E. Childers III, Paul Mobley and Alison Mobley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Garrett Mobley Sr.; and two sisters, Jessie Lee Williams and Jean Mobley Cook.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at Lancaster Memorial Park, conducted by the Revs. Roy Barnes and Rob O'Neal.

Julius Snipes, 84
Julius Snipes, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004.
Born Dec. 28, 1919, in Kershaw County, he was the son of the late Jess Snipes and Viola Deese Snipes. He was married
to the late Thelma Lee Eubanks Snipes. He retired from Springs Industries' Lancaster Plant. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 53 years with a 40-year record of perfect attendance.
Survivors include two sons, Jessie Wayne Snipes of Columbia and Randy Marion Snipes and his wife, Rita, of Lancaster; a sister, Ethel Plyler of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larry Plyler, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hartley Funeral Home.

KERSHAW - Elmer Lee "Dick" Truesdale III, 60, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 3004.
Born in Winnsboro, he was the son of the late Elmer Lee Truesdale Jr.and Edna Hornsby Truesdale. He was married
to Natalie Taylor Truesdale. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Post in Kershaw and a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dorman A. "Tony" Truesdale of Kershaw and Ricky Truesdale of Camden; two daughters, Paula McCabe of Kingston, N.C., and Bridget Plexico of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mittie Christie of Irmo and Annetta Balm of Floresville, Texas.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, conducted by the Revs. Tony Barnes and Thomas Sullivan, with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Camden with full military honors.

Lemma B. Adams, 71, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Irby Blakely. She was a retired elementary teacher's aide. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Richard B. Adams of Lancaster; two daughters, Janet Funderburk and her husband, Stanley, of Lancaster and Vanessa Adams of Charlotte; two sisters, Maggie Howey of Charlotte and Lula Ingram of Buffalo, N.Y.; and a god-granddaughter, Brianna Crockett.
Services were held Friday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Cordy Hobbs Jr., with burial in the church cemetery.

VAN WYCK - Charles Thomas Broome Sr. died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004.
Born in Camden, he was married
to Betty Jean Fox Broome. He was retired from Kanawha Insurance Co. and a member of the Van Wyck Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Thomas "Tommy" Broome Jr. and his wife, Faith, of Van Wyck and Douglas Loyd "Doug" Broome of Dillon; three sisters, Rena B. Smith of Waxhaw, Carole Ann B. Brooks and Dorothy Bridges, both of Monroe.

Born Aug. 11, 1925, in Kershaw County, he was the son of the late Ben Deas and Dealler Cassidy Deas. He was married
to the late Mary Waites Deas. He was a Springs Industries retiree and a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Doris Hartley of Lancaster, Lavon Harrin of Albemarle, N.C. and Margie Cassan of Conway; and his caretakers, Joe C. and Pat Dunlap of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Deas; and two sisters, Helen Baker and Daisy Robinson.
Services were held Friday at Grace Freewill Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Gary McInvaille and Darrell Morgan, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Ralph Todd 'Pete' Hagins Jr., 57
Ralph Todd "Pete" Hagins Jr., 57, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004.
Born July 31, 1947, in Lancaster, he was the son of Ralph Todd Hagins Sr. and the late Margie Lucille Threatt Hagins. He was a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and served as a pilot in the Vietnam War. He was vice president of Hospital Supply Co. in California.
Survivors include his father and his wife, Argie, of Columbia; two sons, Steven Hagins and Michael Hagins, both of California; three brothers, William "Butch" Hagins, James Patrick Hagins of Darlington and Michael Lynn Hagins of Saverna Park, Md.
Services were held Saturday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Mike Smith, with burial in the Lancaster Memorial Park with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the home of Marion Small, 2403 Lynwood Drive.

KERSHAW - Richard L. Anthony died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005.
Born June 26, 1947, he was the son of the late Steve and Gussie Anthony. He was married
to Virginia Anthony. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Heath Spring, where he served on the trustee board, men's choir, pastor's aid and usher board. He was employed with Keywest Industry for more than 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Billy Anthony and his wife, Barbara, Kenny Anthony and his wife, Tonjeanna, both of Fayetteville, N.C., and Johnny Anthony of Lancaster; two daughters, Melvina Izzard and Margaret Anthony, both of Lancaster; three sisters, Ella Mae Stevenson, "Bessie" Elizabeth Drakeford and M. Stevenson, all of Heath Springs; and two brothers, Sammy Anthony and Grover Anthony, both of Kershaw.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Anthony; two sisters, Janie Bell Isiah and Rosie Lee Anthony; and three brothers, Freddy Anthony, Willie James Anthony and Ralph Anthony.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. B.C. Stinson, with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Kirkland-McCray Funeral Home.
John Edward Boykin, 92
John Edward Boykin, 92, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John Boyd and Bessie Witherspoon Boykin. He was a Springs Industries retiree and a member of Saint Paul AME Church, where he served in several leadership positions, including trustee and steward. He worked in his father's blacksmith shop, operated Boykin-Matthews Soda Shop and was employed with the late attorney Ned Gregory for more than 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in Italy and Spain, and received the American Theater Campaign, Good Conduct and Victory medals. He was a member of King David Masonic Lodge No. 41 for more than 60 years.
Survivors include a son, James Edward Barnes of Falls Church, Va.; a brother, Dr. James Boykin of Lancaster; and a granddaughter.
Services will be noon Monday at Saint Paul AME Church, conducted by the Rev. Harry Burns, with burial in Clinton Memorial cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at McMullen Funeral Home, and from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at Saint Paul AME Church.
