CAMDEN -- Memorial services for Rosa Geddings Trimnal, 79, will be held at noon today at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, with inurnment to follow in Wateree Baptist Church cemetery. The Rev. Everett Reconnu and the Rev. Bobby James will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.

Mrs. Trimnal, widow of James Robert Trimnal, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Early and Rosa Geddings. Mrs. Trimnal had retired from the Colonial Store and also from City Laundry. She was a member of Wateree Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Gloria Trimnal Odom of Summerville, Wanda Trimnal Heatherly of Darlington, Debbie Trimnal of Garden City and Cindy Trimnal of Isle of Palms; son, James R. "Jimmy" Trimnal Jr. of Camden; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Harriett Baker of Sumter and Betty Dyson of Sumter; and adopted daughter, Rene Dennis of Camden.
She was predeceased by grandsons, Hamilton McDaniel and Joshua Hardin; sisters, Edith McInnis, Lena Richardson and Earline Robertson; and a brother, Henry Geddings.

LETA J. NEECE
Leta June Neece 83, wife of Dr. William C. Neece, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at her home.
Born in Golden City, Mo., she was a daughter of the late John W. Henrichs and Thelma Henrichs.
Mrs. Neece was a member of the First Church of God.
Surviving are three daughters, Debra L. Eiswald and (Don) of Constantine, Mich., Rene S. Neece of Sumter and Joletta F. Mullins (Rev. Harry) of Laurelville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Henrichs.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m Tuesday in the chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bower, the Rev. Billy Roe and the Rev. Harry Mullins officiating.
Burial will be in the Florence National cemetery.

MARY POMPEY
Mary Lee Simon Pompey, 81, widow of Edward Pompey, died Saturday Dec. 19, 2008, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 7, 1927, in the Greeleyville section of Clarendon County, she was the daughter of the late George Simon and Annie Dixon Simon.
Family is receiving friends at the home, 1659 Pompeytown Road.

BISHOPVILLE -- Anna Trapp died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at McCoy Nursing Center in Bishopville.

DEBRA McDUFFIE
PAXVILLE -- Debra McDuffie, 50, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at her home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1958, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of Mrs. Mary McDuffie Pringle and the late Mr. Lester Pringle.
A graduate of Prospect High School in Brooklyn, she attended Long Island College in Brooklyn. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are her loving and devoted mother, Mary Pringle of Pinewood; a loving son, Kevin Thompson of the home; three brothers, Larry (Stayse) Pringle of Sumter; Steven (Cicely) Pringle and Richard Pringle, all of Paxville; two sisters, Linda Pringle (Keith) Goodson, of Brooklyn and Sherry Comb of Manhattan, N.Y.; a maternal grandmother, Everlena McDuffie of Paxville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Lester Pringle, and grandparents Roosevelt and Lila Pringle.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Pinewood with the Rev. E.L. Sanders, pastor officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Church cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
The family is receiving visitors at the home, 1063 Boyd Road, Paxville, where a procession will leave from at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jo Emily Pack Dickson, 78, beloved wife of the late Joe Dickson, died on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Carolinas Hospital in Florence.
Plans will be announced by Bullock Funeral Home.
HENRY NELSON Jr.
Henry Nelson Jr., 69, husband of Mary Ramsey Nelson, died Thursday, Dec.18, 2008, at his residence.
Born Dec. 12, 1939, in Alcolu, he was the son of the late Henry Nelson Sr. and Olivia Harrison Nelson. He was the stepson of Theola Wilson.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County.
In his youth he attended Harmony Presbyterian Church. When he returned home, he reunited with Harmony Prebyterian Church and served on the men's chorus, senior choir and as an Elder of the church.
He was employed by Georgia-Pacific and Korn Industries.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Ramsey Nelson of the home; a stepmother, Theola Wilson; two sons, Stanley (Michelle) Nelson, John (Janice) Nelson; four daughters, Patty Nelson, Sheila (Johnnie) Nelson, Sandra (Jacob) Lawson and Towanda (Louis) Henry; and one grand reared as a son, Shawn M. Nelson; three brothers, Sammy, Will and John F. Nelson; two sisters, Annie B. Hicks and Annette McKenzie; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Monday, and services will be held at 2 p.m. at Harmony Presbyterian Church, Hwy. 301 North, Alcolu, with the Rev. Carnell Hampton, pastor officiating.
Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.
Family is receiving friends at the home, 1060 Sammie Nelson Road, Alcolu.

LILIAN W. HIGH
Lilian W. High, 73, widow of Leo Corles High, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Lexington Medical Center.
Born in Liverpool, England, she was a daughter of the late William Wilson and the late Rose Evelyn Roberts Wilson.
Mrs. High was a member of The Church of the Holy Comforter, the Daughters of the King, and the British Wives Club. She was retired from AAFES at Shaw Air Force Base.
Survivors include four daughters, Julie Ann High of Columbia, Tina Louise Bryant (David) of Blythewood, Linda Lee Follin (James) of Sumter and Patricia Lynn Bacon (Bill) of Columbia; four granddaughters, Heather Michele Follin, Brittany Nicole Bryant, Victoria Rose Bacon and Katie Elizabeth Bacon; a grandson, Kyle Andrew Bacon; two sisters, June Rose Dunn and Carol Bond both of Liverpool; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews of Liverpool.
She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy William High and a sister, Ellesy Patricia Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Church of the Holy Comforter with the Rev. John Barr, the Rev. Hamilton Smith, and the Rev. Charles Walton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

James Delain, 90, husband of Willie Mae Olden Delain, departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Tuomey Healthcare System.
Born Aug. 23, 1918, in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Manuel Delain and Elease Bonaparte Delain. He attended school in Sumter County and Detroit. He enlisted and served his tour of duty in the U.S. Army, where he received many awards and recognition. His hobbies included love for animals. He was an avid reader of God's word. He was an active member of Wayman Chapel AME Church.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a sister, Sarah Dickens of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John Henry Bonaparte Sr., Charlie Bonaparte and Pete Delain; and a sister, Wilhelmenia Owens.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wayman Chapel AME Church, 160 N. Kings Highway, Sumter, with the pastor, the Rev. Laddie N. Howard, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the family home, 5090 Cain Savannah Road, Wedgefield.
The remains will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. The funeral procession will leave the family home at 10:20 a.m. Floral bearers and pallbearers will be family and friends.

Thomas "Tim" Starling Jasper, 54, died Saturday, Dec. 20, at Augusta Burn Center, Augusta, Ga.

JOE LOUIS GIBBONS
Joe Louis Gibbons, 67, departed this earthly life Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Tuomey Healthcare System.
Born in Sumter County on Dec. 9, 1941, he was the son of the late William "Jack" Gibbons and Mattie Cousar Gibbons. At an early age, he attended Mount Sinai AME Church, Lynchburg (Shiloh Community of Sumter County). Mr. Gibbons was employed by the South Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a gentle soul who possessed a genuine love for auto mechanics and customizing. He was united in holy matrimony to Judy Edwards Gibbons. To this union a son was born, Joseph Gibbons, who preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: two brothers, George Gibbons of Capital Heights, Md., and Larry Gibbons of Sumter; six sisters, Doris Knight of Philadelphia, Ella (Lee) Burns and Alice (David) Stewart of Sumter, Louis (Thomas) Goodman of Lynchburg, Ardenia Parrett of Norcross, Ga., and Deborah (Leroy) Fields of Mount Holly, N.J.; an aunt, Rosetta Cousar of Sumter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with Bishop L.H. Burns, pastor of Union UAFW Baptist Church in Kingstree, officiating.
The family will receive friends at his home, 350 Oklahoma Drive, Sumter. The procession will leave from his home at 2:30 p.m. Floral bearers will be nieces. Pallbearers will be nephews.
Burial will be in Edwards cemetery, Lynchburg.
