Barbara Craft Staley, age 47, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Staley was born in Sumter, the daughter of Margaret Craft Simpson and the late Charles William Craft. She graduated from Sumter High School, Class of 1974. She was a dental lab technician for Crown Prince Dental in Columbia. She was formerly employed by Sumter Dental Prosthesis. She attended First Southern Methodist Church of Sumter.
Surviving in addition to her mother of Sumter are one son, Daniel Caraway and his wife, Carla, of Sumter; five brothers, Mickey Craft and his wife, Sue, of Columbia, Duckey Craft and his wife, Linda, of Sumter, Randy Craft and his wife, Cathy, of Little River, Mike Craft of Sumter, and Brian Craft of Sumter; three sisters, Lib Turner and her husband, Larry, of Sumter, Pam Shuler and her husband, Shot, of Holly Hill, and Tammy Craft and Allen of Columbia; a companion, Reggie Hall; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Bullock Funeral Home with the Rev. Ellison Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Sumter cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Craft, Brian O'Leary, Darren Craft, Duke Craft, Pete Shadoan, Sammy Harrell, Ronnie Wells, Allen Cuttino and Ellis Mac.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home and other times at the mother's residence.

CEDRIC J. MOORE
Cedric Jermaine Moore died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
Born in Sumter on Dec. 7, 1980, he was a son of Bernadine Moore and Robert Gregg Sr. Cedric was educated at Crestwood High School and later enrolled in the Job Corps. He also attended Willow Grove Military Academy in Columbia. He was previously employed by Hill Plumbing and most recently by Carolina Golden Products.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Frederic Moore; his maternal grandmother, Gardenia Moore; and paternal grandfather, George Gregg Jr.
Surviving are his parents, Bernadine Moore and Robert Gregg Sr. of the home; one brother, Robert Gregg Jr. of the home; three sisters, Pfc. Sara Moore of Fort Jackson, Latochia Moore of the home, and Felicia Williams of Sumter; one special nephew, Devrinne Moore of the home; maternal grandfather, Wardell Moore Sr. of the home; paternal grandmother, Sarah Gregg of Sumter; two aunts; seven uncles; and a very special friend, Latoya Moore of Sumter.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Memorial Chapel, 304 S. Main St., with Minister Wendell Moore officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Prothos, Minister Roger Prothos and evangelist Emma Moore.
Burial in Bradford cemetery, U.S. 15 South.
The funeral procession will leave at 2 p.m. from the residence of his uncle and aunt, Franklin and Harriett Moore, 488 Allen St., Sumter.

HERBERT J. BURGESS
Herbert James Burgess, age 61, beloved husband of 38 years to Ann C. Burgess, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Services will be announced by Bullock Funeral Home Inc. of Sumter.
JAMES MACK
James Mack, 77, husband of Ernestine Smalls Mack, died July 24, 2004, at 131 Providence St.
Born Oct. 13, 1926, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Jarrett and Martha Mack. He was a member of Grant Hill Baptist Church, where he served as vice president of the usher board, sang on the gospel choir and male chorus, and sang as a member of the Singing Cousins. He retired after 30 years from the Palmetto Pigeon Plant. He attended the public schools of Sumter.
Survivors include four sons, James Gwendolyn Mack of Sumter, Virgle (Shelia) Mack of Sumter and Reginald D. Mack of Columbia; six daughters, Cynthia (Calvin) Harvin of Sumter, Jeanette (Thomas) Sumpter of Hampton, Va., Valarie (Kenneth) Jones of Sumter, Lillie (David) Coleman of Columbia, Tonya F. Mack of Florence and Veronica (Isiah) Mack-Fortune of Dalzell; a special grandson, Marquis D. Mack; one brother, Clifton Mack of Philadelphia; two sisters, Thelma Reid of Dalzell and Azalee Mell Williams of Orangehill, N.J.; 28 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald B. Mack; a grandson, Kenon Harvin; three brothers, Roosevelt Mack, Jerry Mack and Wesley Mack; and one sister, Bertha McCall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. R.E. Bennett, pastor, eulogist, and the Rev. Dr. H.B. Shaw presiding.
Burial will be in Dicks cemetery.
The funeral procession will leave at 12:20 p.m. from the home, 131 Providence St.
The family will receive friends at the family home.

Jackie Marcella Wongrey, 95, widow of Matthew Wongrey, died Monday evening at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

LAKE CITY -- Ruth Chandler Smith, 87, widow of Roy Smith, died Monday, July 26, 2004.
She was a daughter of the late Bossie and Rena Chandler McKenzie.
Survivors include three sons, Leroy (Sarah Jane) Smith of Turbeville, Sam Smith of Coward and Tommy Smith of Lake City; six daughters, Pearlie Mae Smith, Fannie Holmes and Gloria Smith, all of Lake City, Lou Ella Wright of Sumter, Ruthie Smith of Coward and Joretha (Alex) Gordon of Scranton; two sisters, Drucilla Hardy and Mary McLeod of Olanta; 36 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday from St. Mark Believers Holiness Church on Delano Street, Lake City, with Elder Dr. Linwood Cooper officiating. Burial will be in McKenzie-Brown cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 1305 W. Old No. 4 Highway, Coward, the home of her daughter, Ruthie Smith.

BISHOPVILLE -- Margie Etheline Parrott Morgan, 91, widow of Zebulon Vance Morgan Jr., died Monday, July 26, 2004, at her home.
Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Guy English Parrott and the late Sallie Isabella Best Parrott. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, where she was a member and teacher of the Constance Herbert Sunday School class. She was also a home economics teacher in the Lee County schools for 28 years.
Survivors include two sons, Zebulon V. Morgan III and his wife, June, and Thomas E. Morgan, all of Bishopville; grandchildren, Dr. Zebulon V. Morgan IV and his wife, Cheryl, of Columbia, Sarah M. Boykin and her husband, Phil, of Bishopville, and Stacy M. Hopkins and her husband, Jonathan, of Irmo; great-grandchildren, Zebulon V. Morgan V, Abigail J. Morgan, Henry R. Morgan, Danielle R. Boykin, Julie M. Hopkins and Catherine G. Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Jones, Effie King and Sara Parrott.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Phelps officiating.
Burial will be in Scotch cemetery in Bethune.

VIVIAN LEE WYCOFF
BILOXI, Miss. -- Ms. Vivian Lee Wycoff, 68, of Biloxi, Miss., died Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Biloxi.
Ms. Wycoff was a native of Wichita, Kan., and had been a coast resident for the past 14 years. She retired from civil service at Fort Jackson as a secretary after 19 years of service. Ms. Wycoff was a longtime resident of Sumter. She was of the Methodist faith.
The family of Ms. Wycoff would like to thank Trinity Hospice for their care and support during her extended illness.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dale John Wycoff Jr.; parents, Herbert and Frances Lou Nelson; and a sister, Dorothy Faye Nelson.
Survivors include a daughter, Vivi-Lynn Wycoff of Biloxi; a granddaughter, Victoria Leigh "Tori" Wycoff of Biloxi; three sisters, Flossie Ross of Big Fork, Mont., Marlene Longnecker of Wichita, Kan., and Judi Adcock of Biloxi; two brothers, Harvey Nelson of Denver and Herbert M. Nelson Jr. of Wichita, Kan.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 3 p.m. for graveside services at 3:15 p.m. in Southern Memorial Park.

Jackie Marcella Josey Wongrey, 95, widow of Matthew Wongrey, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Marion Sumpter Josey and the late Theodocia Maye Josey.
She was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church and was a former owner and operator of Wongrey's Restaurant in Sumter for many years.
Survivors include a son, Matthew Jan Wongrey and his wife, Renette of Sumter; a daughter, Teresa Thorne and her husband, Jimmy, of Sumter; three grandchildren, Matthew J. Wongrey Jr., Suzanne W. Holladay and Brittonni T. Perry; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Holladay, Tiffany Holladay, Amy Wongrey, and Joshua Wongrey; a sister, Irene Funderburke of Savannah, Ga.; and a brother-in-law, Barney Eberhardy of Sumter.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Marion Josey, Chandler Josey, Walter Josey and Lloyd Josey; three sisters, Alice J. Newman, Theodocia J. Eberhardy, Helen J. Waldhour, and twin great-grandchildren, Matthew Allen Wongrey and Andrew Zachary Wongrey.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Charles Owens and the Rev. Jack Whitehead officiating.
