Mrs. Saleeby, wife of Edward E. Saleeby, Jr., died Saturday, March 1, 2003. Born in Amarillo, TX, she was a daughter of Georgia King Stanton and the late Jack Lyon Stanton. Mrs. Saleeby was a member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church. She graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College with a degree in Nursing and was a Registered Nurse. She received degrees in Art and Education from Coker College, taught art at Trinity Collegiate School, and was a member of the Black Creek Arts Council. She was recognized by Savannah College of Art and Design for her art curriculum as a guide for other teachers. She was a dedicated art teacher who loved to share the joy of art with others, especially children.
Surviving are her husband, Edward E. Saleeby, Jr. of Hartsville, SC; sons, Edward E. Saleeby, III, Nathaniel Stanton Saleeby, Caleb Cleveland McLaurin Saleeby, all of Hartsville, SC; mother, of Hartsville, SC; sisters and brother-in-law, Jean and David Adams of Holt, MI, Carol Stanton of Whitmore Lake, MI; brother and sister-in-law, Jack L. and Tracy Stanton of Florence, SC. Her sister, Susan Stanton, preceded her in death.

Mr. Bunch, widower of Millie Lovelace Bunch, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003. Born in Darlington County, SC, he was a son of the late Julian Oscar and Essie Sullivan Bunch. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and the Higher Ground Sunday School Class. He served in the Navy during WWII, was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of the Hartsville Masonic Lodge #173 and the Omar Shrine.

Mrs. Edwards, widow of G. Lever Edwards, died Friday, March 14, 2003. Born in Darlington Co., SC, she was a daughter of the late Wister Winston and Eva Lee Cooley. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and served many years as the minister of music and choir director. She graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music and taught piano for over 60 years. She was a member of the Pinelake Garden Club and the Hartsville Music Club. She was inducted into the Lifetime National Music Club.

Mr. Sowell died Tuesday, March 25, 2003. Born in Chesterfield County, SC, he was a son of the late John Purdy and Sarah Knight Sowell. He was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Pine Ridge and had served as the Sunday School director. He served in the U. S. Marines during World War II. He was a local businessman in Pine Ridge and was very active in the community.

Mr. Newsome died Friday, March 28, 2003. Born in Darlington, SC, he was a son of the late Wesley A. and Willie Blanche King Newsome. He was a member of Northgate Baptist Church and for 20 years served as the Sunday School superintendent for the Hartsville Gum Branch Baptist Church. He was retired from Hartsville Manufacturing and was also retired as an auto dealer. He was an avid bird hunter and fisherman.
