FRANK PINKNEY
Frank Pinkney, 66, husband of Mary Stuckey - Pinkney, died Nov. 1, 2003, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born April 4, 1937, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Fred Pinkney and Virginia Pinkney - Goings. He received his formal education from Lincoln High School and enlisted into the United States Navy thereafter. Upon his release from the Navy, he relocated to New York City in search of a better life. He married
Mary Nelson - Pinkney, who preceded him in death in 1988. Frank was a longtime member of the Goodwill Baptist Church in the Bronx, N.Y. He was employed by the Hess Oil Corp. and, after 25 years of service, retired in 1995. Wanting no more of big city life, he relocated back to Sumter in 1998. Upon his return to Sumter, he became a member of the Jehovah Witness organization.
Survivors include four brothers, Cleveland and Harmon Pinkney Sr., both of Sumter, David Goings of Columbia and Herbert Glover of Rembert; one sister, Shirley Pinkney - Hunter of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two aunts, Essiemae Grant and Ethel Johnson Spann; one uncle, James Johnson, all of Sumter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Goings and Charles Pinkney Sr.
A wake service will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 100 Lynam Road, Sumter, with Brother Michael Parrott and Brother Frank Johnson officiating.
Burial will be Friday in the Florence National cemetery, 803 E. National cemetery Road, Florence.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Floral bearers will be friends of the family.
The funeral procession will leave at 2:30 p.m. from his home, 1150 Meadow Croft Drive, Sumter.

JOE L. ROBINSON Sr.
FLORENCE - Joe LeBow Robinson Sr., 73, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, after several years of declining health.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. today in Waters - Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope cemetery.
He was born in Lenoir City, Tenn., a son of the late Doyle and Nell LeBow Robinson. He was an Independent Life Insurance agent. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence and the Fifty - Year Club. He worked actively with people with disabilities and special needs at the Little Red Brick School and Camp Courage. He was a member of the Amity Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Faircloth Robinson of Florence; a son, Joey (Raine) Robinson of Florence; a daughter, Debra R. (David) Hanna of Summerton; two sisters, Mary Ruth (Joe) Nickel of Maryville, Tenn., and Agness Richardson of Northport, Ala.; two brothers, Glenn (Ruth) Robinson and Carl (Vivol) Robinson, both of Lenoir City, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Betty Robinson of Newport, Tenn., and Ruth Robinson of Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren, Greg Talerico, Cary T. Kurhela, Ashley, Matt and Sarah Elizabeth Robinson; two step - grandchildren, Monica and Brad Hanna; and a great - grandchild, Hailey Susan Kurhela.
Mr. Robinson was predeceased by a daughter, Susan R. Talerico; and three brothers, Jim Robinson, Elwood Robinson and Jack Robinson.

Barbara Hester Hopkins died Aug. 21, 2003, in California.

WILLIAM C. NOE
Dalzell - William Clyde Noe, age 60, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Noe was born in Beaufort, N.C., son of the late William P. and Dollie Sadder Noe. He was a retired senior master sergeant with 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring from Shaw Air Force Base. He was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are one son, Christiaan T. Noe of Apokpa, Fla.; and one sister, Catherine Wainwright of Beaufort, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
No local services are planned at this time.

BISHOPVILLE - Shirley "Joann" Murray, wife of Alton Murray, died Nov. 6, 2003.

ANNIE MAE McDONALD
BISHOPVILLE - Mrs. Annie Mae McDonald, widow of Mr. Jesse McDonald, died Nov. 3, 2003, at Carolina Pines Medical Center, Hartsville.
Born March 10, 1936, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late William Charles Sr. and Geneva Thomas Charles. Mrs. McDonald was a devoted member of New Bethel AME Church in Bishopville.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur (Shirley) McDonald and Willie (Wanda) McDonald, both of Bishopville; one daughter, Jessie (Isaac) Hickmon of Bishopville; three brothers, William Charles Jr. of Bishopville, John (Betty) Charles Sr. and Joseph Charles, both of Baltimore; one sister, Estelle Melton of Baltimore; eight grandchildren; and 10 great - grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara A. Franklin; and a brother, James Charles.
Visitation will be held at the mortuary today from 3 to 7:30 p.m.
The remains will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel AME Church, Bishopville.
Burial will be in St. John cemetery, Bishopville.

BISHOPVILLE - Jayantibhai K. Patel, 67, husband of Hashuben Jayantibhai Patel, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at the Carolina Pines Medical Center in Hartsville.
Born in Masarroad, India, he was a son of the late Kashibhai T. Patel and the late Chanchalben Patel Patel. Mr. Patel was retired from Chief Liquor Store.
Surviving are his wife of Bishopville; one son, Kamleshkumar J. Patel of Bishopville; one daughter, Rushita Patel of India; two brothers, Ghansyam K. Patel of Buffalo, N.Y., and Jasubhai K. Patel of Scranton, Pa.; one sister, Vimlaben Patel of Canada; and two grandchildren.

BALTIMORE - Mrs. Rosa Lee McNeil died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Dozier, Lorraine Dozier and Irene Dozier; six brothers, Eugene Fulton, James Fulton, Lincoln Fulton, Thomas Fulton, John Fulton and Eugene Singleton; six sisters, Hulene Pendergrass, Elma McDonald, Louise Jones, Ethel Fulton, Lila Mell Dozier and Henrietta DuPree.

ABRAHAM SINKLER
Abraham Sinkler, 99, widower of Charlotte Hector Sinkler, died Nov. 4, 2003, at Mariner Healthcare of Sumter East.
Born Aug. 24, 1904, in Pinewood, he was a son of the late Parrish Sinkler and Sophia Mitchell Sinkler. Mr. Sinkler joined St. Mark 4 - B Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a member of the Deacon Board, Trustee Board, Senior Choir, Clouds of Joy and Prayer Band. He was united in holy matrimony to Charlotte Hector Sinkler in 1928. This union was blessed with 13 children.
Survivors include four sons, William Sinkler of Cedarhurst, N.Y., Ishum Sinkler of Brooklyn, N.Y., Thomas Sinkler of Midlothan, Va., and Joseph Sinkler of Sumter; five daughters, Margaret Holmes of the home, Sarah Buckman, Mary King, Carolyn Howard, all of Sumter, Sophia Ausby of Richmond, Va.; two daughters-in-law, Christine Sinkler of Laurens and Lillian Sinkler of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother-in-law, John Hector of Far Rockaway, N.Y.; 39 grandchildren; 85 great - grandchildren; and 20 great - great - grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four children, two infant, Archie and Robert Sinkler; four brothers, Simon, William, Parrish Jr. and Rander Sinkler.
The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from St. Mark 4 - B Baptist Church, 2280 Four Bridges Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Sammie D. Simmons, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gerald Tomlin, the Rev. Charlie Howard and Minister Roneika China.

FLORENCE - Bub Dyson, age 103, widower of Sue Mathis Dyson, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Commander Nursing Home, Florence.
Born Oct. 16, 1900, in the Fort Watson community, Summerton, he was a son of the late Ravenel and Sylvia Dyson.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Earlene D. Dickerson, 2193 Lily Martin Road, River Road community, Summerton.
