ANDERSON, SC - Rev. Mack David Pickens, age 65, husband of Ann Glenn Pickens went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 7, 2004 at the Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson.
Born in Anderson, SC on March 29, 1939, Rev. Pickens was the son of the late Curtis "Bill" Theron Pickens and Lola Frances Merritt Pickens. He was a graduate of Anderson College and the Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute. For over 34 years, David served as beloved pastor and interim pastor for numerous churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Anderson.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by his children, Gail Parrish and her husband, Mike Parrish and their children, Sara Ann, Michael, Madison and Matthew of Aiken, SC; Theron Pickens and his wife, Cathy Pickens and their children, Jennifer and Michael of Fort Mill, SC; Carol Dyar and her husband, Joel Dyar and their children, Penny and Kayla of Anderson, SC; Glenda Mize and her husband, Jeffrey Mize and their children, Jared and Braden of Fort Mill, SC; Michael Pickens and his wife, Shannon Pickens and their children, Katherine and Ashlee of Lexington, SC and a sister, Marion Pickens Vaughn of Starr, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Pickens. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church officiated Dr. Glenn Taylor, Dr. Wendell Bannister and the Reverend Joe Smith. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson, SC. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 pm on Sunday.
The family received friends on Saturday, October 9, 2004 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The family will be at the home of a daughter, Carol Dyar, 110 Harriett Circle, Anderson, SC.

PIEDMONT - Tambralyn Edwina Bergholm, 45, of Hollywood Drive, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 at her residence.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Martin.
Surviving are her mother, Sarah M. Henderson; sons, Nicholas Bergholm of Cleveland and Norman Bergholm, IV; daughters, Paddi Bergholm of Pickens and Michele Bergholm; brothers, Karl Martin of Easley and Gene Henderson, Jr. of Virginia; sisters, Gwendolyn Cole of Liberty, Helen Merick of Easley, Linda Duncan of Easley, Lorena Lostraglio of Six Mile and Hope Henderson of Easley; and seven grandchildren.
Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Dillard Funeral Home by the Revs. Wayne Garman and John Ferguson; burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

ANDERSON -- Robert H. Thaiss, 68, of Anderson died Friday, November 12, 2004, at Hospice House surrounded by his family.
He was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was a graduate of the University of Miami. He was retired from True Temper Corporation after more than 20 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Emmalee; two sons and their wives, John and Susan Thaiss of Greer, SC, and Eric and Colleen Thaiss of Marietta, GA; and a brother, Gustav Thaiss and his wife, Nahid of Victoria, British Columbia.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 209 Broad Street, Anderson, Sunday, November 14, at 2PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice.

Bobby Kilgore
ABBEVLLE -- James "Bobby" Kilgore, 73, of Hospice House in Anderson died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Hospice House.
Born in Abbeville County, he was the son of the late Claude DeWitt Sr. and Ruby Powell Kilgore. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a retired body shop manager with White's Automotive in Zanesville, Ohio. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are daughter, Wendy K. Namowicz of Zanesville, Ohio; sisters, Jean Dunn and Kathy Grant, both of Abbeville; brothers, David Kilgore of Cleveland, Tenn., and Jimmy Kilgore of Lowndesville; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Claude Jr., Harold, Fred and Eddie Kilgore.
Services are at 3 p.m. Saturday at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville by the Rev. Randy Fleming; burial will be in Melrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Born in Oconee County, he was a 1994 graduate of Walhalla High School and an employee of Milliken Defore Plant of Seneca.
Surviving are parents, Charles Edward and Barbara Mattison Chapman of Walhalla; sister, Angela Chapman of Clemson; maternal grandfather, John E. Mattison of Seneca; and his paternal grandmother, Bobbie Chapman of Walhalla.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Davenport Funeral Home; burial will be in Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.

ANDERSON -- Archie Felton Carter, 67, of 505 Lakewood Lane died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at his home.
Born in Starr, he was a retired estimator with Fluor Daniel, and a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge 68, and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason of Greenville. He was a member of Homeland Park Baptist Church.
Surviving are widow, Mary Richey Carter of the home; daughter, Janet Farmer of Anderson; son, Ryan Carter of Anderson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandson; his mother, Floride Erwin Carter of Anderson; brother, Leonard Carter of Piedmont; and his sister, Ellen Black of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Stenson Carter; and by one sister, Irene Osborne.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel by the Revs. Brad Ellington, Glenn Taylor and U.C. Neill; burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Masonic Graveside Rites. The body is at the Northeast Chapel, 3205 S.C. 81 North, where the family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. BATESBURG -- Ira Collum, 83, of Batesburg, died Friday, November 12, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Ridge Crest Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Smith and Rev. Garth Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Allen, Jon Allen, Jack Hall, Tony Hall, Nathan Shealy and Terry Shealy.
Mr. Collum was born in Leesville to Grover Cleveland and Annie Shealy Collum. He was a member of Union Lutheran Church. Member of Woodmen of the World. He was a veteran of World War II of Army Air Corps. His heart is with his daughter, grandchildren and great grandchild.
Surviving are his wife, Connie "Dot" Shealy Collum of Pendleton; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Michael Allen of Pendleton; grandchildren, Jason Allen and wife Paula, Jon Allen and wife Adrienne; 1 grandson, Justin Michael Allen all of Pendleton.

WALHALLA -- Joan Murphree Todd, 61, of 348 Pickett Post Road died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
A native of Toccoa, Ga., she was the daughter of the late John Foster and Blanche Smith Murphree. She was co-owner of Todd Paint and Decorating, an employee of Wal-Mart and a member of Walhalla Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of the Pilot Club of Walhalla, a member of the German-American Club and served as organist and pianist at Walhalla Presbyterian Church and Walhalla First Baptist Church.
Surviving are widower, W. Kent Todd of the home; son, Tim Todd of Easley; daughter, Nancy James of Walhalla; and two grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walhalla Presbyterian Church; burial will be in Oconee Memorial Park.
A reception will be held at 4 p.m. following the service at the church.
