HONEA PATH -- Nettie Brooks Porter, 94, of 268 Porter Road died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at her home.
A native of Pickens County, she was a member of Princeton Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Lois P. Ridgeway of Williamston, Frances P. Clark of Piedmont, Ethel Banks of Ninety Six, Nancy P. Bryant of Hickory Tavern, Margaret P. Crane of Princeton and Betty P. Davenport of Donalds; sons, James M. Porter of Princeton, Cecil M. Porter of Easley and Don B. Porter of Princeton; sister, Nellie Mae Abercrombie of Greenville; brothers, Ray Brooks, Bowen Brooks and Moton Brooks, all of Easley; 30 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Henry Jacob Porter and the daughter of the late George Washington and Maggie Elizabeth Morgan Brooks. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gertrude Porter.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Princeton Baptist Church by the Revs. Terry Wilson, Ken Maddox and Justin Porter; burial will follow in Princeton Baptist Church cemetery.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Betty Davenport, 6695 Highway 252, Donalds, and will receive friends at Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

ANDERSON -- Dewis Randall Tilley, 52, of 416 D. Williamston Road died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, he was an employee of Owens Corning Fiberglas and was a U.S. Marine Corp. Vietnam veteran. He was a member of Starr Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are son, Adam R. Tilley of Charleston; brothers, David Tilley of Anderson and Jimmy Tilley of Starr; and sisters, Becky Scoggins and Carol Laire, both of Anderson and Sharon Loskoski of Starr.
He was the son of the late Lollis Durell Tilley and Dorotha Jennings Tilley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Grady Tillen and Terry Wayne Tilley; and a sister, Margaret Jean Tilley.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at The McDougald Funeral Home by the Revs. Leland Pitts and Tony Tilley; burial will be in New Silverbrook Cemetery, Anderson. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The family will be at the home of a sister, Sharon Loskoski, 7836 Highway 815, Starr.
Ronald Brannen, Sr.
Oct. 22, 1937 -- Sept. 29, 2003
TAMASSEE -- Ronald Warren Brannen Sr., 65, of 175 Whitewater Road died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca.
Born in Great Falls, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam era. He was also a cabinetmaker.
Surviving are widow, Marie Simons Brannen of the home; sons, Ronald Warren Brannen Jr. of Austin, and Warren Keith Brannen of Salem; daughters, Tamela Lynn Giroux and Cassondra Leigh Diotalevi, both of Clarkesville, Tenn.; brothers, John R. Brannen Jr. of Summerville, Richard Brannen of Stratford, Conn. and David Brannen of Lugoff; and nine grandchildren.
He was the son of the late John Ralph and Myrtle Duke Brannen Sr.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home in Seneca.
Family members will be at the home at other times.
Wynona Williams
CAMDEN, N.J. -- Wynona Williams, of Camden, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003.
Born in Anderson County, she was a member of Jefferson Chapel AME Church in Anderson and Harris Temple Church in Camden, N.J.
Surviving are father, James Lewis Adger of South Carolina; daughters, Willie Rene Pitman, Robena Wiggins, Dorothy Steven and Ruthie Williams; sons, James Alvin Patterson, Weymon Patterson, David Patterson and Emery A. Williams, all of Camden, N.J.; 32 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Bell Adger.
Services and burial will be held in Camden, N.J.

Annie Estelle (McClellan) Robinson
Annie Estelle (McClellan) Robinson, "Dollie" to those who knew and loved her, went to meet here Lord on November 24, 2003. She was born in Anderson County, South Carolina on June 20, 1906, the daughter of Grovan Zigler McClellan and Minnie Moorehead McClellan.
Dollie is survived by her children, four daughters and five sons; 24 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; a dear niece Suann McClellan McClure of Anderson, SC, all of whom loved her dearly.
Dollie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Dollie resided in So. Portland, ME for approximately 30 years, Skowhegan, ME, 25 years and most recently with her son Bud in Charlton, MA, where she delighted in being around 12 of her great grandchildren.
She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sunset Chapter #53.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on December 6, 2003, in Charlton, MA.

Earl Childress
Earl Childress, 77, of 701 Durham Brown Road, husband of Mildred Durham Childress, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Childress was born in Pickens County, son of the late Luther and Nellie Childress. He was retired from the construction industry, was a WWII veteran of the US Navy having survived the Normandy Invasion on D-Day, and was of the Baptist faith.
A daughter of Judy Gunter predeceased him.
Surviving in addition to his wife and one son: Steve Childress and his wife Cathy of Seneca and one daughter, Joan Foster and her husband, Steve, of Seneca, 7 grandchildren, Sonia Fowler, Nichole Schrader, Lacy Lugo, Clint Foster, Amanda Foster, Jerry Connelly, and Judy Vaughn, and 6 great grandchildren, Grayson Schrader, Braden Fowler, Kayla Connelly, Hannah Connelly, Nocole Roach, and Dawn Roach, and brothers Olin Childress, and Jessie (Bill) Childress.
Funeral services will be conduced at 2PM on Saturday December 6 at Hepsibah Baptist church, with Reverend John McKnight, and Reverend Bob Dickard officiating Interment will be at Oconee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7-9 PM Friday December 5 at Seneca Mortuary.

Ethel Lula Mae Brown
Ethel Lula Mae Brown, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at National Health Care Center in Greer.
She was born in Oconee County. She received her elementary and secondary training in the Oconee County Public Schools and received an associate of arts degree from Friendship Junior College in Rock Hill, and a bachelor of science degree from South Carolina State College in Orangeburg. She did further studies at Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Ky., University of South Carolina in Columbia, and Clemson University. She taught senior high school in Barnwell County at Macedonia High School and Blue Ridge High School in Oconee County, Seneca Junior High School and Seneca Middle School. She retired on June 1, 1990. She was a member of O'Zion Baptist Church, where she served as adult church school teacher, and assistant church clerk. She was also a member of the senior choir, and President of the Missionary Society. She served on the Board of directors of the United Way, Red Cross and the Greater Seneca Beautification Club. She was a member and past president of the Mary McCleod Bethune Federated Club. She served on the Board for Humanity of Oconee County.
Surviving are brothers, Edward, Herbert, Nathan and Walter I.
She was the daughter of the late Enoch and Monicho Brown.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at O'Zion Baptist Church in Seneca, by pastor the Rev. Curtis Adams; burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday to the hour of service at the church.

WESTMINSTER -- Jack Randolph Stancil, 70, of 104 Cornelia Ave. died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at his residence.
Born in Six Mile, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Westminster Baptist Church where he served as the former chairman of the board of deacons. He was a member of the Westminster Rotary Club, the Westminster Lions Club and the Westminster American Legion. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Westminster Jaycees. He was formerly employed by Southern Wesleyan University and the U.S. Post Office.
Surviving are widow, Peggy Stancil of the home; father, John Thomas Stancil of Six Mile; sons, Perry Stancil of Westminster, and Monty R. Stancil of Cartersville; daughter, Leah Masterson of Elizabethton, N.C.; brothers, Carl T. Stancil of Pendleton, and J. Wayne Stancil of Six Mile; sister, Brenda S. Law of Six Mile; six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Peek Stancil.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Sandifer Funeral Home by Dr. Randy Keasler and the Rev. Wilton Maxwell; burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.

BELTON, SC -- Mrs. Jayne Ford Peterson, age 54, of 205 D. Sherwood Drive, Belton, SC, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at the Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson.
Born in Mecklenburg County, NC on April 20, 1949, Mrs. Peterson was the daughter of Bobbie Glover Jeffcoat of Gastonia, NC and the late Henry Ford. She was a former General Manager for Popeye's Restaurants in Anderson and a member of Williamston Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by her mother, Bobbie Glover Jeffcoat and step-father, John Jeffcoat of Gastonia, NC; sons, Scott Peterson and his wife, Tina of Pendleton, SC and Jeff Peterson and his wife Amanda of Belton and two grandchildren, Tristyn Peterson and Garrett Lee.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Randy Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont, NC at 3:00 pm on Saturday.
The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, December 5, 2003.

Born in Anderson, he was employed by Campbell Metal Works, Inc.
Surviving are his parents, James D. Carithers Sr. and Geraldine Cooper Carithers of Anderson; son, James Kevin Carithers of Dallas, N.C.; and sisters, Jane C. Barnette and Robbie C. James, both of Anderson.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Silverbrook Cemetery by the Rev. James Patterson. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at The McDougald Funeral Home.
