BELTON - Margaret Elizabeth Crawford McCullough, 69, wife of James R. McCullough, of 105 Edgewood Dr., Belton died Friday, April 4th at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of Lillie Mae Crawford and the late Joe Crawford. She was a housewife and a member of Second Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are: son, Larry McCullough of Belton; granddaughter, Courtnie Black and her husband, Brandon Black of Belton; grandson, Brent McCullough and his wife Tonya of Belton; great granddaughter, Kirsten McCullough; sisters, Eunice Fields, Jean Martin, Jane Motes, Frankie Bridges, Lucille Robinson all of Belton; sister-in-law, Wilma Crawford of Belton. Her brother, Lee Crawford and sister, Bobbie Alewine predeceased her.
Services were held 2:00, Sunday, April 6th at Second Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Crawford and Luther Price officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00, Saturday at Cox Funeral Home.

Marie Crawford
LIBERTY -- Marie Swords Crawford, 59, of 203 Cassell Road died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at her home.
Born in Pickens County, she was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Anchor Swan in Easley.
Surviving are mother, Inez Swords of Liberty; widower, Thomas Swords of the home; daughter, Joy Turner of Liberty; sons, Tim Cothran of Liberty, and Scott Swords of Pendleton; sisters, Betty Crowe of Easley, and Tot Bowen of Greenville, and four grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Bennie F. Swords.
Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Solid Rock Baptist Church; burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials be made to the OMH Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, S.C. 29672. The family will be at the home.

Nathaniel Yon Jr.
Dec. 6, 1931 -- April 6, 2003
WILLIAMSTON -- Nathaniel Yon Jr., 71, formerly of Williamston died Sunday, April 6, 2003.
Born in Anderson County, he was formerly employed by Woodside Mill in Greenville.
Surviving are mother, Lula Bell Yon of Hodges; sons, Ronald Yon of Williamston, and Curtis Nathaniel Yon of Charleston; brother, William G. Yon of Calhoun Falls; sister, Sara Strawhorn of Hodges; seven grandchildren; and eight greet-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Nathaniel Yon Sr. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Yon.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beech Springs Tabernacle Church cemetery.
The family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
Raleigh Robinson
Dr. Raleigh Robinson, 73, died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Henry Ford Hospital.
He was a math teacher and school administrator with the Detroit Public School System. He served the youth of the City of Detroit for more than 27 years before retirement in 1989. Following graduation from Alcorn State University in his home state, Mississippi, he joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War period and served as a Crypto Specialist. The desire for a career in higher education brought him to Detroit, where he earned a masters and a doctorate degree from Wayne State University.
He held membership in Phi Beta Sigma, Phi Beta Kappa, life-membership in the NAACP and several honored organizations. He spent many years engaging in genealogical research. His special interest was in the Historic Silver Spring Restoration Project in Pendleton. He attended the Second Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the Deacon Board, the Brotherhood, and had been a member since 1964.
Surviving are widow, Lenora "Connie" Vance-Robinson.
A service of visitation was held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Historic Second Baptist Church, 441 Monroe Avenue. The homecoming service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson. The body will be on view Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at D.B. Walker & Co. Funeral Services.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Raleigh and Lenora Vance-Robinson Scholarship Fund, Alcorn State University, Lorman, MS.
Robert Rudder
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. -- Robert Wayne Rudder, 54, of Hendersonville died Saturday, April 5, 2003, in Mission St. Joseph Hospital.
Born in Montgomery, Ala., he was a resident of Anderson prior to moving to Hendersonville in 1985. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Hedrick-Rhodes V.F.W. Post # 5206, The Disables American Veterans and The Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
Surviving are widow, Wanda Reeves Rudder; sons, Robert W. Rudder Jr. of Asheville and Jason Rudder of Hendersonville; daughter, Samantha Rudder of Hendersonville; brothers, Travis Rudder of Cape Coral, Fla. and Clarence Rudder of Vancouver, Wash.; and sisters, Priscilla Whitten of Townsville, and Barbara Segars of Anderson.
He was the son of the late Cortez Rudder and Myrtle Jinright Randall Rudder. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lula Davis; and two brothers, Bobby and Truman Rudder.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Pines Jackson Funeral Service by the Rev. Mike Engle; burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park with Military Graveside Rites by the Hendrick-Rhodes V.F.W. Post #5206, Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post #77 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #14. The family received friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Ross McCaslan
CALHOUN FALLS -- Ross Patrick McCaslan, 19, of 310 Burton Drive died Monday, April 7, 2003.
A native of Greenwood, he was a student at Piedmont Technical College in the computer science department. He was an employee of BiLo Store in Abbeville and a 2002 graduate of Calhoun Falls High School.
Surviving are parents, Roy Patrick and Rochelle Carroll McCaslan of the home; brothers, Grant Edward McCaslan of Greenwood and Max Franklin McCaslan of the home; and maternal grandparents, Donnie Ray and Dora Carroll Sr. of Elberton, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ed and Rosa Lee McCaslan.
Services are at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. Thomas Batta and Tim Richey; burial will follow in the family plot at Latimer Cemetery, Calhoun Falls. The body will be at the Calhoun Falls Funeral Home on Tuesday until 9 p.m. and the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until service time at the church.

ANDERSON -- Clarence Norris, 83, of 425 Latimore Road, widower of Leola Norris, died Saturday, June 7, 2003 at his residence.

Esther Dickerson Bannister
June 6, 1914 -- June 6, 2003
ANDERSON, SC -- Mrs. Esther Dickerson Bannister, wife of the late Johnnie J. Bannister, died Friday, June 6, 2003 at the NHC Heath Care in Anderson.
Born in Elberton, GA on June 6, 1914, Mrs. Bannister was a daughter of the late Paul L. Dickerson and Susie Mann Dickerson. She was retired from Clark-Schwebel and was a homemaker. She was a life-long member of Union Baptist Church.
Surviving are son, Gerald Thomas Bannister and his wife, Derrell of Starr and John Ansley Bannister and his wife, Margie of Iva; daughter, Linda Black of Starr; sister, Lucy Brown of Anderson; five grandchildren, J. Ray Bannister and his wife, Peggy of Iva, Janice Bannister White and her husband, Karen Black Carver of Anderson and Terri Black Williams and her husband, Russ of Anderson; nine great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition of her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pearl Frances Bannister; son-in-law, Thomas Benton Black; four brothers, Harry M. Dickerson, Aubry M. Dickerson, Thomas W. Dickerson and P.L. Dickerson; two sisters, Zelma D. Baskin and Lottie D. Carey. Her second husband, Albert Grady Veal also preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Iva, officiated by the Reverends James Patterson and Mike Harrell.
The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2003.
The family will be at the home of her son, Gerald T. Bannister, 5509 Hwy. 81 South, Starr, SC.

Grace Stowe
ANDERSON -- Grace Horne Stowe, 84, of 1606 South Murray Avenue, died Friday, June 6, 2003 at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Georgia, she was a homemaker and was of the Church of God faith.
Surviving are son, Billy Stowe of the home; brothers, Robert Lee Horne Jr. and Samuel Horne, both of Anderson; sister, Inez Lollis of Anderson; and one grandchild.
She was the widow of Alfred Ray Stowe and the daughter of the late Robert Horne and Callie Freeman Horne.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home by the Rev. Billy Garrett; burial in New Silverbrook Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Gregg Kirkpatrick
ANDERSON, SC -- Mr. Henry Gregory Kirkpatrick of 415 Tanglewood Drive, Anderson, SC, died Friday, June 6, 2003 in an automobile accident in Spartanburg, SC.
Born in Anderson, SC, Mr. Kirkpatrick was the son of Bill Kirkpatrick and Mary Rainey Kirkpatrick of the home. He was employed with GBS Lumber Company in Greenville, SC and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Anna Jo West and her husband, Mike West of Spartanburg, SC; nephews, Jonathan, Matthew and Patrick West.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2003 at 3:00 PM at New Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson officiated by the Reverend Tim Gautreaux. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
The family will be at the residence, 415 Tanglewood Drive, Anderson, SC.
