Born to Belton and Essie Brown Williams, he died Oct. 23, 2004. Surviving: sisters-in-law, Louise and Mazie Hallingquest, Alfado Hagood; brother-in-law, Coker Hagood; nieces, nephews, cousins.
H. Alton Boyd Sr.
KINGSTREE H. Alton Boyd, Sr., 78, died Monday, October 25, 2004, in a Knoxville, Tenn. hospital. Mr. Boyd was born April 16, 1926 in Williamsburg Co., a son of the late Thomas Lee Boyd, Sr. and Bluhma Loryea Boyd. He was a graduate of Andrews schools and was a lifetime farmer. Mr. Boyd was a Mason, a member of the Williamsburg Co. ASCS committee for 19 years, having served as chairman and vice-chairman, the Williamsburg Co. Forestry Commission Board, the Kingstree United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Kingstree Lions Club. He was also a member of the VFW and served on the board of the PCA. Mr. Boyd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by brothers: Isaac Boyd, James Boyd and Kenneth Boyd and a sister, Bluhma Mims.
Surviving: his wife of 51 years: Mona Rhodes Boyd, 2 sons: H. Alton (Diane) Boyd, Jr. and David Lee (Karin) Boyd of Kingstree, 2 daughters: Vickie B. (Tommy) Mitchell of Kingstree and Pam L. Boyd of Columbia, 3 brothers: Loryea L. Boyd of Allendale, T.L. Boyd, Jr. of Salters, and Herbert Boyd of Mullins, 2 sisters: Marguerite B. Taylor of Lake City and Willa Mae Marshall of Columbia, 4 grandchildren: Laura B. Birch, Amy E. Boyd, Adam T. Boyd and Hannah M. Mitchell.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Thursday in the Kingstree First Baptist Church, with burial in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at Williamsburg Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Kingstree United Methodist Church or Kingstree First Baptist Church.
Marilyn Baker
IRMO Graveside services for Marilyn Joyce Matthews Baker, 71, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Bush River Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel.
Mrs. Baker died Monday, October 25, 2004. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Jewell Spicer Matthews.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Jean Kelley of Columbia; sons, James Richard Kelley, III of Irmo and James Thomas Baker, Jr. of Columbia; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Edith Corbett
CAMDEN Funeral services for Edith Brickey Corbett, 80, will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. in Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. in Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel. Mrs. Corbett died Monday, October 25, 2004. Born in North Holston, Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Susie Emma Carter Brickey. She was a retired registered nurse from the Camden Hospital, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Camden.
Surviving are her husband, William Duncan Corbett, daughter, Pam King and her husband, Dewey of Ruby, SC, son, Bill Corbett and his wife, Pam, of Liberty Hill, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, 2 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Thomas Corbett.

Lee Corley
LEXINGTON Memorial services for Lee Anthony Corley, 48, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at First Baptist Church of Wagner.
Mr. Corley died Monday, October 25, 2004. He was the son of Helen Roland Brantley and the late Samuel Murray Corley.
He is survived by his fiancee, Judy Elkins of Lexington; son, Lee Anthony (Tony) Corley, Jr. of South Congaree; mother, Helen Brantley of Lexington, twin-sister, Lonna A. Williamson (Colie) of Swansea; brothers, Timothy (Tim), Murray (Al), and Douglas (Wayne) Corley of Lexington; grandson, Cameron Corley of Lexington, three nieces, six nephews, and five great-nieces.

Robert Jordan
MULLINS Robert Hugh Jordan, 53, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Carolinas Hospital System in Charlotte, N.C. after an illness.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, October 28 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Devotion Gardens Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Robert was born April 13, 1951 in Marion County, a son of the late Hugh and Eva Richardson Jordan. Robert was a graduate of Mullins High School and was a supervisor in the textile industry. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
Surviving Robert are: 2 brothers: Les Jordan and his wife Mandy of Nichols and Terry Jordan and his wife Sherrie of Mullins; and 2 sisters: Mary Ellen Elliott and her husband Ronnie of Nichols and Betty Ann Strickland and her husband Roger of Little River. Robert was predeceased by a brother, Wesley Jordan.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 til 9 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.

Smith, 63, of Columbia, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, with The Reverend Karen Radcliffe officiating. Mr. Smith passed away on Monday, October 25, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer at his home. He was born August 6, 1941 in Columbia, SC son of Thelma Clements Smith of Blythewood and the late James Marion Smith. Mr. Smith was a graduate of Dentsville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 35 years serving as a conductor. He was a Jamil Shriner and a member of the Woodsman of the World.
He is survived by his mother Thelma C. Smith; sisters and brother in law, Marion Smith and Joe Rideoutte, Sr., Miriam Smith and Jack Hollis, Jonnie Smith Gillian and one brother and sister in law, Perry Sr. and Margie Smith all of Columbia; nineteen nieces and nephews, Tammy and Jeff Batson, Terry and Adrienne Gillian, Jerry and Terri Gillian, Joe Jr. and Terri Rideoutte, Dedra and Richard Childress, Debra Smith, Brian and Stephanie Gilliam, Perry Jr. and Tina Smith, Garrett and Crystal Gillian, and Kim and Mike Lanier; fifteen great nieces and nephews and his loving two year old Rottweiler, Bear.
